Kenshi stood leaning against the wall inside the main hall of the West Wing. It was a short time after Aribeth and Kenshi had met up with his friends, he was going to see if his old dormitory was still here, or if it was taken. While he was here, he was also going to look into finding Aribeth a room. Kenshi had told her where to meet him while he went and took care of something. He supposed she'd wandered off to go learn more about the Sanctuary of Light. He thought about Aribeth as he stood there. He wondered how she'd react to finding out he had a daughter. He wondered what Tifa would think of her. For some reason this thought brought a smile to his face. He could picture Tifa questioning Aribeth to make sure she was suitable for Kenshi. Thinking deeply, Kenshi wasn't paying very much attention to his surroundings. He did this when he thought of Aribeth, or so he'd noticed. He'd start thinking about her, and he wouldn't stop. She was intoxicating, and addictive. But he didn't mind. Silently, leaning against the wall, the swordsman waited for a paladin. |

Aribeth had gone wandering about, trying to learn the lay of the Sanctuary. She had a feeling she'd be spending quite some time here, and therefore wanted to make sure she knew her way around. So far, the place had begun to remind her of the Academy back in Neverwinter... only much, much larger. It was beautiful, and yet something about it seemed at the same time empty. Perhaps it was simply because no one seemed to be in the halls - everyone seemed to be out in the Courtyard or not even in the Sanctuary at the time being. Her mind quickly drifted back to her memories of the past. Her former companions... Valen, Nathyrra, Deekin... or further back, to her time among the living, the companions of the Hero of Neverwinter.... Sharwyn, Daelan, Linu, Boddyknock, and Grimgnaw.... and yet, her main thoughts were on Kenshi. She'd only known him a few days now, and yet there was some sort of unexplainable connection.... As if in answer to her thoughts, she spotted the ghost further down the hall, leaning against the wall as if waiting for something. Smiling, Aribeth put a bit more spring into her step and made her way towards the blind swordsman. |

"Hello lovely," Kenshi said softly as Aribeth got close. It was her scent that drew him out of his thoughts. Kenshi, being blind, had superb senses, obviously other than sight. He'd learned to rely on them over his sight, and they sometimes worked better than sight at warning the warrior when something was coming. Now he raised his blind gaze up to stare at Aribeth's soul, and he smiled softly. "I missed you," Kenshi whispered softly, as he walked to Aribeth, and hugged her tight, planting a soft kiss on her lips, "Did you enjoy your walk around the Sanctuary?" |

Aribeth returned the embrace, then the kiss, then rested her head on the spirit's shoulder and smiled. "I think I've learned my way around... this place is beautiful, and reminds me so much of home...." She sighed slightly, then smiled at the man again. "I should probably try to go back to Neverwinter eventually, but I think that can wait for a while. For now, I think I'll be happy just to stay here." She suddenly gave a slight smirk, and an amused glint danced in her eyes. "So... what brings you here, or have you just been waiting for little me to come along?" |

"Hmm..." Kenshi mused, still holding the girl in his arms, "I have no idea what I am doing here. It appears, however, that I am here at just the perfect time to get a hug and a kiss from the most beautiful person I've ever met, inside and out." The swordsman held the paladin of Tyrs close, a small smile on his blind face as he looked at Aribeth through his unique sight. Her soul was both green and blue. Honourable, calm, and good. There were scars, there were always scars, but her were mainly gone by what she was now. Kenshi lowered his head, and kissed her with a soft love. "Perhaps we should find you a room," the swordsman said with a soft smile, "And I have a few more gifts to spoil you with." |

Aribeth grinned again. "Flatterer. You're trying to spoil me rotten, I won't be much of a fighter for long if you go on and get me used to a life of luxury." To be completely honest, luxury wasn't what Aribeth wanted. She was a warrior, to her heart and soul, having been trained since childhood as a paladin. She couldn't imagine living - or whatever her current state could be called - without being on the front lines, fighting against the forces of evil. Furthermore, she felt she needed to do so. She still felt a massive debt owed to the universe, to her patron, and to herself, to attempt to undo and atone for the wrongs she'd done in the past, with Maugrim and Morag and even Mephistopheles. And the only way she'd be able to do that was to help in the world she'd now found herself a part of. For the time, though, she was willing to set all of that aside, at least for the moment. There would be time enough in the future for atonement, and Tyr was patient. Now was still a time for getting used to this world. And admittedly, a place to stay would be nice. She simply nodded in answer to Kenshi's question, smiling once again at the blind fighter. |

"Trust me lovely, nothing I do will ever spoil your ability to fight," Kenshi replied with a soft chuckle, "Besides, what makes you think these gifts won't make it so you can fight with the best of the warriors? Or to protect you when you are fighting, so you can always come home to me? And there's nothing spoiling about giving someone a place to sleep." Kenshi's hands began to glow blue, despite them being wrapped around the Paladin of Tyrs. A small black box floated up next to Aribeth's eyes. The small black box stopped a few inches from Aribeth's face, floating with that blue aura of Kenshi's. It was about two times larger than a ringbox, and a lot flatter. "Open it," the swordsman whispered to her. |

"Just don't spoil me too much," the paladin replied, still smirking. "I might get used to it." She took the box with one hand, leaving the other wrapped around Kenshi's waist, and examined it closely. It was some sort of jewelry case, she'd seen similar in the possession of some priests in the past. However, she wasn't sure as to what it held. After a few moments of looking at the box though, her curiosity couldn't be denied. Turning around and leaning back into Kenshi's arms, she freed her other hand and used it to open the lid of the box. |

Kenshi wrapped her arms around her waist as she fell back onto him. He smiled softly as she opened the box, revealing the two electric blue earrings. One was the shape of a sword, a miniature version of Aribeth's own it seemed. The other one was also a sword, but this one curved. It took a minute for Aribeth to realize it was the same shape, and style of sword as Kenshi's. Items [Heart of the Sword]: Shaped like Aribeth's own sword, this earring grants +2 to all slashing attacks. {Accessory} [Heart of the Battle]: Shaped like Kenshi's katana, this earring grants +2 to all melee attacks. {Accessory} "And when you have those on," Kenshi said, softly kissing Aribeth on the cheek, and gently squeezing her, "I have something else for you as well." |

"Kenshi...," Aribeth gawked slightly, shocked at the objects presented to her. "They're beautiful... where did you...." Still slightly surprised, the paladin slowly slipped the earrings into place, wincing slightly as she did so as she had to form new piercings in which to hang them in her sensitive elven ears. After a few moments though, the pain subsided and the paladin smiled back at the blind ghost. "How do I look?" |

"That's a trick question, right?" Kenshi said with a soft smile, looking down at her with his blind gaze that somehow showed more love than most sighted gazes, "You're gorgeous Mai Aikou. Now, for the next small trinket." The next item proved to be a belt made of the same electric blue metal. As Kenshi gently strung it around Aribeth's waist, making sure it fit snugly, but not too tight, she noticed an engraving on the front of it. It was in cursive, and was only readable when she turned it up to read. I give this to you so you may be protected when I'm not around, and therefore come home to rest in my loving arms every night. You never stray from my thoughts, and I hope to always be around for your's. I love you Aribeth de Tylmarande, and I don't plan on disappearing anytime soon. I hope you decide to stay around with me as long as you can. [Protection From Battle]: an electric blue metal belt with "I give this to you so you may be protected when I'm not around, and therefore come home to rest in my loving arms every night. You never stray from my thoughts, and I hope to always be around for your's. I love you Aribeth de Tylmarande, and I don't plan on disappearing anytime soon. I hope you decide to stay around with me as long as you can." etched into the front of it by Kenshi, this belt grants +5 defense against all elements, individually. {Belt} |

"It's beautiful," the paladin echoed, too stunned to say much more. After a few moments of silence, she suddenly threw her arms around Kenshi and planted a kiss straight on his lips; once that was finished she rested again with her arms around his waist and her head leaning on his shoulder. She waited a few more moments in silence before looking back up into the space where the swordsman's blind eyes were, behind his blindfold. "So... done spoiling me for now?" she asked, smiling widely and squeezing Kenshi slightly. |

Kenshi returned the kiss, holding her close during it. He let her rest her head on his shoulder. Actually, it was more than just letting her. He enjoying having Aribeth so close. Kenshi wouldn't be able to explain it in words, but to him, she felt so... Right. "Mmmm.... I suppose so Ari," Kenshi said softly, twisting down and kissing her softly on the lips, "I have one question before we go off trying to find you a room. Actually two, but one I'll ask after. Would you always prefer to see my eyes?" |

Aribeth considered the question a moment before answering. In truth, she couldn't remember ever having seen Kenshi's eyes - he'd been blindfolded since she met him. She didn't know what they looked like at all. "I'd like to see them at least once," she answered quietly, reaching a hand up to the side of his face. "As for later, that's up to you... if you want to, then it is well with me." |

Kenshi smiled softly, putting his hand over Aribeth's. Slipping his thumb under her palm, and leaving her fingers above his, Kenshi moved the paladin's up the side of his face, to the blindfold. Maneuvering her fingers so that the blindfold slipped between them, he pushed her hand up and over, pulling off the blindfold. His eyes were covered by a translucent, light blue haze. Through the haze, Kenshi's eyes appeared to be a dark grey color. The swordsman's eyes moved, and locked onto Aribeth's, despite the man being able to see them. Kenshi smiled softly, letting his hand fall back down, still holding Aribeth's, "Well lovely? They don't look too terrible, do they?" |

"I think they look fine," Aribeth replied, moving her hand to the side of his face. "I don't see why you hide them. Or are you simply eager to let people know in advance of your blindness?" She smiled at him, calmly waiting for his response. |

"I think I'm just used to wearing the blind fold by now," Kenshi said with a soft smile, his eyes looking at Aribeth's face, but not really seeing it, instead seeing her very soul, and all the beauty it held, "So, onto my next question. Do you want to find a room in here, or would you like to sleep where I consider home?" |

"You don't live here?" Aribeth said, slightly surprised. She'd expected that this was the only safe place for pretty much anyone to live, given the state of the worlds beyond the Sanctuary, the storms caused by the Bastard, and the various other hazards; to imagine someone living elsewhere was a bit of a shock to her. "Where do you live then? Or would you rather just show me?" |

"No, no, I live here in the Sanctuary, just not within its walls," Kenshi said with a soft chuckle, "Come here, and I'll show you." Wrapping his arms around the paladin's waist, he kissed her softly on the lips, as the two disappeared in a flash of blue, and reappeared in an entirely different place, Kenshi's lips still locked on Aribeth's for a moment. Finally letting their lips part, Kenshi said, "This is my home." Where the two stood was a tall hill that looked over what appeared to be a small forest. In front of the hill was what could either be considered a large pond, or a small lake, with surprisingly blue waters. Far on the other side of it, Aribeth thought she could make out a small stream flowing into it. All around the edge of the body was water were trees, both evergreens and deciduous, almost none of them small, and most were over fifty feet high. The trees spread out past the lake, creating a small wooded area that could almost be considered a small forest. On the hill the two now stood was a single tree, only about thirty feet high, but with full branches of leaves. Some of its branches were low enough to climb onto with ease, and there appeared to be a good path of strong limbs one could climb on if so inclined. The rest of the hill was covered by soft, green-blue grass that swayed slightly with a sudden breeze that shook the limbs of the trees. Birds could be heard calling out from the trees, and other creatures could be heard making their noises. In the tree above them even sounded a small songbird that Ari couldn't quite catch sight of. "This is where I live," Kenshi said softly to her, "Right here, where I can find peace no matter what is going wrong in my life. Right now though, I have something very good to keep me company, you." |

"Oh Gods...," she gasped. "It's beautiful." Awestruck, the paladin could almost not say a word... the wonder of the place was reminded her very much of Neverwinter in the spring, after the storms outside the always-warm city had subsided and life had returned to the North. Seeing it filled her with a sense of safety and comfort, but also with feelings of nostalgia for her old home. |
