For some reason the mention of Kelemvor's Bar, and what it was, put an amused smile on Kenshi's face, "Perhaps, but we could always change that if we wanted to, particularly with all the clerics and gods hanging around recently." Kensh laughed softly at Aribeth's question of gods in his world. He'd known this question was coming, and he'd been trying to figure out how to answer it. A paladin was bound to ask about gods. "Gods are... Very confusing on my world really. Compared to Jake, Zebediah, Pestiss, Bit, and even your god, Tyr, they may seem weak at first. Each God is bound to a realm, and if they leave that realm, they tend to lose their powers. Sometimes exceptions are made, actually, when I got involved in the warring of Mortal Kombat, a lot of exceptions were being made," Kenshi seemed amused as he thought of his gods, "They can walk amongst the planets as they see fit, and even when their powers are drained from walking into another realm, they are always the most powerful of warriors. Some, like Raiden before he was corrupted, and Fujin, act as mentors to those mortals they are entering into the once sacred, now disgraced tournament of Mortal Kombat. Others, like Shao Kahn, and Shinnok attempt to conquer and claim more power for themselves." Kenshi took a deep breath, and let it out with a sigh, "Wow this one takes a bit of explaining. Sorry, but I'm not done either. Above the regular gods, there's also the Elder Gods, who are sort of like the gods you seem to be used to. They can walk amongst mortals, but tend not to, focusing more on balance, and staying in their primal elemental form. There are always three elementals, one of fire, one of ice, and the third tends to change. Once, before I became a part of this all, it was darkness, Raiden and Shao Kahn's father. Before that it was Shinnok, with his strange necromancy. At one point, Raiden himself became an Elder God, but he left when Earthrealm was threatened again. Heh, even corrupted and evil, Raiden never seeks anything more than protecting Earthrealm. Only now he'll destroy all of the other realms just to keep it safe. Anyways, getting sidetracked. The Elder Gods' powers seem close to unlimited, but can also be taken away if they become corrupt, like Shinnok, if they decide to leave like Raiden did, or the other two Elder Gods don't seem them as fit t e Elder Gods. And I think I'm done... You'll have to ask specifics for anything more." |

She grinned slightly at his description of the Elder Gods. "There is a deity like that in Toril as well; he is known as Ao. He does little more, at least that mortals know of, than dictate the duties of the other gods; he even once cast all the deities but one out of the heavens and made them mortal, during a time known as the Time of Troubles. Many gods died or were replaced during those years. Ao also doesn't recognize mortals who worship him, or more accurately he ignores them; his clerics receive no powers or anything from him. Mortals have come to refer to him as the God of Apathy because of that." |

"Yep, that sounds about right for them as well," Kenshi mused to himself, finishing the wrapping of his blindfold around Aribeth's hand and tieing it off, "Though, as for worshipping, I don't think people really do that on my world. It's more like paying respects to the gods for their protection, and such. Outright worshipping though? Nah." |

"That is a notable difference," Aribeth replied with a nod. "In return for devotion, worship, and adherence to their dogma, the gods of my world give magic and divine powers to their followers... including myself, I suppose," she added with a slight smirk. She waited a few more steps before bringing up another question. "You mentioned your 'friend'... Ermac... what other allies have you had?" |

"Well, on my homeworld I was allied to the Special Forces, but that didn't last long," Kenshi took Aribeth's hand back into his, as they walked along the side of the lake, "I was trapped on an evil realm known as Outworld, and almost killed by a man known as Mavado, but was rescued by a cryomancer known as Sub-Zero. He helped me regain my strength, and together we sought a way out of Outworld. He was almost killed by a samurai from the Law Realm, who used a brilliant flash of light to make him blind. However, blind as I am, I was unaffected, and managed to slay the warrior. We finally escaped Outworld, and he took me back to his clan so I could finish healing. He offered me a place in his clan, but I'm not one for organizations usually, and I still had to find Mavado. So I had to decline. Despite this, we remained close friends. Raiden, the Thunder God I mentioned earlier, was the one who told me where I could find Shang Tsung, and before Blaze, and Armegeddon, a martial artist known as Johnny Cage attempted to have me join the forces of good." Kenshi paused for a moment, seeming to mull over what to say exactly, "I declined, tired of the pointless wars between good and evil that never seemed to go anywhere. Fukyuu though urged me to fight alongside good once again, and I ended up being the one to lead them into battle, due to Raiden's abscence from him being corrupted now. And then I ended up here... And here you've already met most of my allies and friends." |

She nodded once more, appeased for the moment. Her next question would no longer be prying into his history or inquiring about his previous relationships. "How much farther?" The question was not asked in a way that seemed impatient or unhappy... simply inquisitive. |

Kenshi laughed cheerfully, and was still chuckling when he answered, "I usually sleep under the tree we came out by. I thought we were just wandering now." |

"I'm not opposed to that." She resumed walking at his side in silence, just happy to be here now, away from the chaos outside. She closed her hand around the blindfold, and gave a little smile as she put her hand in Kenshi's as they walked. |

"Oh, so you are gonna sleep with me huh?" Kenshi grinned at Aribeth, gently squeezing her hand, obviously glad she was here at all, "Don't worry, I don't bite... Or at least... Not much." |

Aribeth couldn't help but smirk. "And your sword is the dirty-minded one?" she replied playfully, squeezing his hand back. |

"Eh, what can I say?" Kenshi suddenly turned, stepping in front of Aribeth, and pulled her close, "It rubs off sometimes." Without another word, without a moment's notice, he leaned in and kissed her. He kissed her exactly as she enjoyed it, sifting through her mind to find out all the right movements, every little touch he could use to make this a perfect kiss for her, save one thing. He left it to her to finish it. |

Although momentarily surprised, Ari's hesitance melted away within seconds, and she wrapped her arms around Kenshi's shoulders, pulling the swordsman to her as she returned the kiss passionately. A rush of emotions flew through the paladin as she hung there locked in embrace with him, but she didn't say a word until the kiss finally came to an end. And even then, at first all she did was smile. |

Kenshi let out a slow breath, smiling softly at his half-elven paladin. She was a damn good kisser. Kenshi could feel a strange strength emanating from her. It took him a minute to realize a sliver of gold was forming in her soul, and the swordsman smiled wider. "Well, I'd say that was nice, but..." Kenshi's smile never left, and his blind eyes met her's, "I believe wonderful, amazing, extravagant, all those positive words would be able to capture the loveliness of that kiss... So nice just won't cut it." |

Ari laughed and hugged Kenshi close, resting her head against his shoulder. All of her sadness and regrets had melted away in the last hour in this place... she had finally found someplace to call home. And possibly most surprising of all, she didn't have a word to say about it; she simply wanted to stay there in Kenshi's arms. She knew it couldn't last forever, but a small part of her really wished it could. |

Kenshi held Aribeth close. There was a flash of blue light around the two, and they reappeared under Kenshi's favorite tree, on top of the hill over looking the pond. He didn't explain the reason for the scene change, instead just holding Aribeth closed as his senses worked for him. His telekinesis brushed over the tree behind him, where Kenshi knew there was a strange stone, black with three red stripes. Kenshi'd embedded the stone himself before he'd attempted to leave the Multiverse long ago. Finding it, he kept a bead on it, and sent another tangle of senses into the pond, seeking out another stone with three stripes. Kenshi's back was to the water, so if Aribeth's eyes were open, she could see the bond behind him. At first all there was was a soft splashing noise. Then a stone, only about an inch wide, if she was paying attention, black with three royal blue stripes in it floated past the couple, and embedded itself in the tree behind Kenshi, right next to anoter stone of the same size, and shape, only with red stripes instead of blue. |

The paladin's eyes widened slightly as she watched the stone set itself in the tree next to its partner. Once the process was complete, she hugged Kenshi tightly once more, then turned so she could look at his face again. "So how long has that been waiting down there...?" |

"Ya know," he replied with a soft, cheerful grin, "I haven't the faintest of clues. I just found it." |
