Mouse walked through his portal and into the sickbay carrying a motionless Colette who had drained her life away in an attempt to save him and destroy Kefka. The nurses gasped at their sudden appearance and immediately did all they could for Colette and soon she was in a hospital bed wrapped in bandages.

"Let us take care of your wounds as well, sir," one of the nurses said to him. He just waved her and took a seat against the wall.

Mouse was covered in bruises, they didn't have any lasting damage as part of an effect of Colette's 'supah ZOMG ultemot diloox dedli atacs from teh hellz0rs', but as Kefka had used Reflect in front of Mouse's stopped body, it was only half of the effect.

He waited for Colette to wake up, and as he waited, he felt something running on his face. He put a hand up underneath his nose, looked, and found it to be blood. He knew that it was from using his techniques in the fight. Slipping through the multiverse had weakened him considerable, and using those techniques cost him not magic, but his own life's energy. Mouse sighed.

The door to the room stood opened, as Mouse sat, his face being propped up in one hand on the arm of the chair, his eyes closed.

Colette was barely moving, having little to no energy to do so. Sacrifice was a powerful angelic tech but it had a cost that went beyond Tp... It required Colette to sacrifice her own life. Somehow, however, she lived, having little energy left to do anything.

Slowly though, her eyes opened a bit, closing back just as slowly. Happening periodically, it was a sigh that the angel was probably on the road to recovery. After at least an hour, her eyes opened but didn't close back again. She turned her head around, wondering if Mouse was okay and where this place was.

Mouse looked over at Colette and saw her eyes opened. He stood up and went over to her side. She looked to fragile in the bed. He reached out a hand, held it just above her heart, and used a reversal of the spell Drainage.

Colette could feel herself getting better, her wounds sealing themselves shut. When she was at about a third of her normal power, Mouse turned, breaking off the spell, and sitting back down.

He looked very pale as he leaned his held back, holding his nose with one hand t prevent the bleeding from getting worse. The spell had not just its casting cost, but it drained his life further and gave it to Colette.

Colette sat up from her position, rubbing her head a bit. Even though she wasn't a half elf, she could feel her own mana was very weak, almost completely drained from the attacks. A normal human would have died from the stress of the angelic tech she used and she was suprised she managed to live through it.

She got on her feet, wobbly at first but started to speak to Mouse in her position. "Mouse... are you okay? I'm sorry you got hurt." She flosed her eyes and started to fall back down again, her body still weak.

Mouse wasn't in the state to be suddenly jumping up and catching her, so he just looked at where she had fallen. It she felt like flopping around all over the place, it was her business.

"What did I miss?" he asked, refering to the time that he was under the influnce of the Stop spell.

Colette meerly fell back on the bed, not having strayed too far from it. She sat back up, shaking her head. "I don't know... It wasn't really much..." She put a hand to one of the cuts on her cheek, noticing it was still bleeding. She ignored this fact, more concerned for Mouse.

"What wasn't much, Colette?" he asked. Not much for games at the moment.

Colette shook her head, not remembering much but not wanting to worry him with what did happen. "It wasn't anything bad..." She then dug into her left pocket, remembering something. She then pulled it out, revealing a small, reddish thing. It seemed to look somewhat like candy. "Here. It's an Apple Gel. Try eating it."

Upon eating a Gel, one would be healed in a certain way depending on the type of gel This kind would heal Mouse somewhat and give him a bit more energy. Colette didn't know if she had another gel so she prefered that Mouse use the one she had.

(I'm not really sure what Gels are made of. I always considered it some kind of medecinal candy, minus sugar and stuff. It heals someone by 30% of their max Hp in-game)

Mouse did not even reach out for the gel. He stilled.

"What wasn't bad, Colette? Why did the crazy clown dissappear? What did you do?"

Colette put the gell down, trying to search for an alternative answer. "Well, I... Um..." She then sighed, unable to find a good answer for this except the truth. "He was hit by one of my most powerful Angelic techs... It's called Sacrifice." She put the Gel near her, in case Mouse wanted it later. "It's also the reason why you wern't hurt as bad. It heals people in range and hurts enemies... but..." She then stopped talking, not wanting to continue.

"But what? But it took all of your life away with it?" Mouse let out a croaky laugh, having his own abilties do the same effect, only with every use. "Sounds pretty desparate Cole. Were you desparate, not sure that I could protect you? I don't blame you, I told you I'm not good in that department."

Colette slowly nodded. "Normally... it's supposed to take my entire life in exchange... I'm lucky to be alive right now... I just wanted to protect you... Heh... I'm not exactly good when it comes to worrying about myself... I worry about others more... I didn't want to see you die, Mouse..."

A tear fell down from her eye, "When I was on my journey, even when I couldn't eat, I pretended to do so. When I couldn't sleep, I hid this fact too. I didn't want anyone to worry about me. I felt it was something that was neccisary. It happened every time I broke a seal. When I broke the seal at the ruins, Lloyd found out about it... By this point, I couldn't feel pain or anything..."

She took a few seconds before continuing, a few more tears falling from her eyes. "With the final seal, I couldn't even speak... Even though I knew what would happen at the Tower of Salvation, I felt I had to go... to save the world..." She wiped her eyes, tears still leaking through. It was hard for her to talk about this now, knowing what had happened after the events at the Tower of Salvation. However, she felt less comfortable talking about this with Mouse. She didn't want him to leave.

"It would appear that both of us are broken," Mouse said, sitting up stiffly. He reached for the gel and popped it into his mouth. His hand had been shaking, but the restorative powers of the gel soon stopped that. He didn't say anymore, just looked at her, slowly working on the gel.

Colette slowly nodded, tears still ocasionally leaking from her eyes. She was starting to feel more comfortable with Mouse, still concerned. "I... I didn't think about my own life when I used that tech... In my heart, I only really had one desire... I wanted... I wanted you to be safe from that man. I wanted to save you." At that moment, she just wanted to be with Mouse, wanting to help him. She was glad that no one else was in the room. She remembered the kiss he had given her in her room, liking it. She wouldn't stop him if he did anything like that. Colette was just glad Mouse was safe.

Mouse stood and went to the bed. Sitting down, he pulled her into an embrace.

"Colette," he said. "You must not be so concerned about me. I wander around alot, I don't know when I'll be in one place for long or when I return to it. And you are not my top proirity right now."

The last sentence, may hurt, but it was true.

"My friend that I search for is my top concern, and I will do anything that I can to get him back. I cannot worry about both him and you at the same time, my heart just cannot take it."

Colette was somewhat hurt but hid it, understanding Mouse. "It's okay... If you ever need help though, I'll be there as soon as I can... I promise." She returned the embrace, wrapping her arms around Mouse. "I can handle myself... You don't have to worry about me... I don't like it when my friends are unhappy or sad... especially you."

"Pattimo is one of the reasons why I am even alive for you to have saved today, I owe him more than my life."

Mouse stood and went to the door, he turned back with a grin on his face. "Like I said, Colette, you mustn't worry so much. You're in place where more people than yourself have saved the world before. Now the next time I see you, I'll introduce you to Pattimo."

He closed the door and left.

[Exit Mouse]
