{Axel/Alex, Mouse, and Roxas only, please and thank you.}

The warehouse, as usual, was filled with many boxes and crates and was void of any human movement until a white-lined portal appeared parrallel to the floor over a large, opened crate of plushies. From the portal fell and black-clad figure that fell backwards into the plushies. Shortly after this figure fell through, another one did too - only this one was clad in blue and fell head first into the crate, sending various plushies flying into the air.

Mouse was enveloped in fluff and fabric, upside-down, and dazed. It had used up most of his spell casting power to create the portal and now he needed a slight rest. After said rest and some blood pooling up in his head, he scrambled to the top of the plushie pile to find Alex. Mouse put a hand on his shoulder.

"Alex... Alex..." he said, concerned, then looked down to the man's clutched hand to see the heart that he had ripped out, making him fall unconcious and tumbling over the side of the clock tower. "Axel." Mouse corrected himself.

He looked back from the heart of Alex and the body of Axel. Mouse remembered how furious Axel had been after Mouse had picked up the Bond of Flame before, despising Alex down to his very core. What would Axel do if he woke up to find the representation of Alex in his hand? Probably stomp it into the dirt and set it on fire. Then maybe spit on the ashes.

"Calamity," Mouse swore and came to the conclusion that he had to get Alex away from Axel. The heart had been ripped for a reason and most certainly not so Axel could look at it and admire it. Mouse carefully took it out of the Nobody's hand, now the question was were to put it? He couldn't just put the heart into a belt pouch. Maybe... one of the plushies? No. Then a thought struck him.

He removed the lute from his back and laid it against the lip of the crate with one hand after squirming through the plushies to get there. In the other hand he held Alex's heart. Pattimo's heart had been in the lute before, so maybe he could use it for Alex now. He held the heart to the blue, glass eye of the lute and pushed in it.

The eye of the lute closed.

Now Mouse just had the unconsious Axel to deal with. Replacing the lute on his back, he scrambled out of the crate onto a nearby and shorter crate. He deemed it necessary to remove Axel from the crate of plushies - no need to give him burning material right off the bat. The Returning Flurry was tall, but slim and Mouse had little problem lifting him from the crate. He leapt down off of the shorter crate and sat Axel down against a different crate some feet away.

"Alrighty then," Mouse said standing up about fifteen minutes after having dived off of a building, and looked around. "By glory, where did I end us up at?"

R-R-Roxas... Am... Am I finally back with you? It... It worked... It had to work!! Alex.... is dead... Right? He has to be dead!! The thoughts rushed through the Nobody's head, as he dreamed of the blonde Nobody's face. Axel's body suddenly rolled to the side, his hand jerking foward. He was still unconsious... A bad dream then?

"R-Roxas....."

The Somebody without a heart whispered, using basically all of his strength to do so. Then it hit him, and the lifeless body jolted upwards, Axel's hands flailing around until it smacked his chest.

"Heh... So... He's finally gone... Dead... Roxas... Is... Is it a good thing? No... He can't be dead... I'd have to be dead. Because the only way I'll ever be real, if if he's DEAD! Theo nly way I'll ever live... Is if he lives... The only way I can die.... Roxas... Why? WHY?! Who... Who am I?"

The Nobody said, obviously confused as he tilted his head backwards, closing his eyes again... His vision was blurry anyway. No wonder he mistook Mouse for the Keyblader.

Alex, however, had a bit more trouble reacting. His body was gone. It wasn't even his anymore. His heart lived, but in someone else's body. Hell, the body probably would even attack it before it realizes it's an actual heart. The lute remained silent, as Alex fought his way through deep inside.

Mouse looked back at Axel during his rambling. He crouched down and prodded Axel's shoulder. "Axel," he said evenly. "You are most assuredly, Axel."

As for Alex inside the different body, after Pattimo's heart had left it, it had just been a regular lute. If Alex could to focus in on the only moveable parts of the lute, being the eye and eyelid that had become organic with the entry of the heart, he may be able to gain a sense of where he was.

"It's... It's you... Why? Why do you always appear instead of him? What... What do you want anyway.... Bah.... Mouse... I... I don't know anything anymore. Alex was right to bring me back... There's no point for either of us to keep living... No point... Now he passed his misery to me.... Mouse... Where... WHERE IS ROXAS?! I... I need him.... I... I always did." Axel muttered, gasping and panting as he struggled to speak, as he struggled to use the remaining strength in his muscles merely to keep himself up.

The eye of the lute slowly opened, Alex whispering out to Mouse.

"Heh... So he really is alive, isn't he? I was a damned fool to think he was dead... Please... We both need to see Roxas... Together... And we'll both be on our way... To... To the next world. I'll be waiting... For Roxas."

"So why did you accept the heart in the first place then?" Roxas inquired, appearing through a Dark Corridor nearby. He raised an eyebrow at the sigh he now beheld and shook his head, causing the blonde locks upon his head to shift quite a bit.

"...when we said the next life... what did that really mean... who knows?"
