When Tails mentioned Kid Buu, Vegeta's eyes went wide. "Tell me you destroyed the sample..." he almost pleaded with Tails. |

"Of course." Tails replied, the mere memory of the creature giving the fox a slight chill. "There was no way I'd give it a chance to regenerate. Even after I beat him twice, he seemed to not want to go down." |

Vegeta exhaled slowly, as though a great weight were lifted off his shoulders. "Not even Kakarot at Super Saiyan Three could defeat that thing... it was unnatural." Vegeta slowly stood, cracking his neck. He faced Tails, looking him up and down. "We need each other, as much as I hate to say so. For both of us to ascend, we need to help each other." |

Tails barely managed to keep back a slight chuckle. Vegeta's likeness in demeanor to Shadow was bewildering, and he knew that the two would hit it off if they ever met - only after nearly destroying everything and everyone around to prove who was on top. The fox recalled the Black Hedgehog saying something very similar during the invasion of the Black Arms, and it made him wonder why it seemed like, despite his position in always playing second fiddle, he seemed to be needed. "Should we head to the gravity chamber then?" responded the fox finally, seeming as if he had ignored the side comment about Vegeta hating to say that he needed him. |

Vegeta nodded, turning to the door, folding his arms across his chest. "It's this way." Vegeta led the way to the gravity area of the training center, where he had been several times. The room was circular, with a large column in the middle. "You are under my power level, but you're also much faster than I am. A good advantage for you, as speed in combat is almost everything." Vegeta talked to the Fox as he walked to the control panel. "If you have all the power in the world, it won't do you a damn bit of difference if you can't land the hit. And being faster also makes you harder to hit at the same time." |

"Something tells me a lot of that speed is going to be cut down as soon as the gravity sets in though." Tails explained, looking about the room a bit and tearing away the shreds that were once his gloves. "My smaller frame will make me more suseptable to the gravity then yours. I guess we'll just have to see how bad it'll actually be." |

"Maybe, but we shall see. Since you're new, we'll start at ten time normal gravity." Vegeta touched the panel a few times, and the gravity set in. He started walking around as though it were normal to him that he lived under this sort of strain. "How do you feel?" |

Miles' face was filled with strain, anxiety, and obviously pain as he peered at Vegeta, wondering just how it was possible for the Saiyan to take this much, let alone fifteen times this. As soon as the gravity set in completely, Tails fell down to his hands and knees, panting heavilly. Even the fox's three tails seemed to be glued to the floor as they seemed to be several times heavier to him than normal. After a few moments like this, the fox began to try to rise, but to little avail. "...this feels like... like the whole weight of the Tornado is on my shoulders right now, like it's fallen off a hitch right onto me or something." answered the kitsune finally. |

"This is nothing compared to what I train at, but soon, you will be training alongside me at three-hundred times gravity." Vegeta began walking around the fox, looking at him. "You have almost as much power as I do now, but you need to raise your base level, what you're comfortable at. It's easier to deal with this gravity when transformed, but we're not here for the easy way out." Vegeta ended his circling when he was in front of Tails. "Now, get up." |

Tails slowly but surely began to tap into his emotion and release his power. His arms, legs, and tails trembled from the gravity and the strain, but after a few moments, they stopped. Vegeta then noticed the kitsune's tails begin to raise a little bit and then flop back down again, then raising, just to be pushed down once more. This process happened a few more times before the three furry appendages began to achieve a state of normalcy, lazilly floating up and down against the gravity chamber's floor as if under normal conditions. "Right, the only way to get stronger is to push. When the gravity pushes against us, we have to push back harder." The fox replied, beginning to get a grasp on how this all worked propping up a knee and then laying a palm upon it. His legs and hands began to quake a bit again, but this was quickly righted. Slowly but surely, the fox wearilly rose to his feet, releasing more and more of his latent powers. He then held out his arm, and then the other, clenching his fists and getting a feel for the gravity. When he got used to it, he began to take a few steps around. |

"Yes, but use the least amount of power possible." Vegeta told Tails, watching him keenly. "That way, you can train your muscles to be even stronger." Vegeta walked back over to the panel, once Tails took a few steps around. "This is a taste of what you'll be training at. Now we need to start you on the basics." and Vegeta hit a single button, bringing the gravity back down to normal levels slowly, so people wouldn't hurt themselves. "You need to know how to gather your ki to you." |

For a moment, the fox felt weightless, realizing just how powerful training under such gravity could make him once he entered normal gravity. He folded his arms and thought for a moment. "That makes sense. It's just like weight traning in a gym, but you're whole body is being weighed down as opposed to specific muscles. This method seems a lot more effective." He then cocked his head to the side a little, a hand below his muzzle. "...and how do I go about figuring out how to gather my ki?" |

Vegeta sat down crosslegged, and motioned for Tails to do the same. "This is going to take a while, as you weren't born into our culture." "Saiyans are capable of gathering their ki about the time they can walk, and earthlings, on their own, only learned to gather ki when they stumbled upon the idea." Vegeta told Tails, in a more than haughty tone about his own race. "The point is to dig down within yourself, find that warm center of your soul, and slowly bring it to your hands." Vegeta demonstrated the way, closing his eyes, and a ball of energy about the size of a softball appeared between his hands. |

The kitsune sat down opposite of Vegeta, his three tails laying at ease behind him as he too sat cross-legged. He pondered what the Saiyan meant for awhile; he had learned about mana, chakra, and channeling, but now, he had to learn about ki. All throughout his experiences in the multiverse, he had to search within himself for not only different ways of weaving and chanelling energy within and without, but the strength to keep going. "The warm center of my soul?" inquired Tails, searching with his words and mind. |

"That's how Kakarot described it." Vegeta growled. "I use my warrior's soul, the direct heart of my desire to be the best. And I make my will real. It keeps me alive, no matter how hard I've been hit..." Vegeta recalled his time fighting against Kid Buu, the five minutes he bought for Kakarot, seemed like an eternity. But he took a heavy beating, and still kept moving. "If you want something badly enough, NOTHING will keep you from attaining it." Vegeta told the young Kitsune. ((Dammit! Wrong account...)) |

"But what about if you've already lost something?" the fox asked, still trying to focus, but finding a shortfall in his confidence. He thought about how, no matter how hard he tried to protect himself and others in the past, he still needed Sonic. The situations in which he had solved a problem, or protected something or someone by only himself were so far and few between, it made him feel useless. "...what if, throughout almost your whole life, you've only desired to be like someone else? Not surpass them, but to be exactly like them? Is there no hope there?" |

"Then don't you want to show how you can be like him? Or even surpass him?" Vegeta asked the young fox. "If you truly want to earn that respect, you have to beat them! Become better than they are!" |

"Beat him... become better?" inquired the fox, cocking his head to the side a little. He had never even fathomed beating Sonic in a race of any sort, at least, without the aid of some sort of technology. By himself, he could barely keep up with the heroic hedgehog by using his tails as propellers. It was then, however, that he finally understood what Vegeta truly meant by beat. "...in every way? I have to surpass him if I want to prove that I can be like him... and that I don't need him to protect me... or those I care about... anymore." |

"No, just show that you're willing to do whatever it takes to show that you don't need to be coddled." Vegeta snarled. "Aren't you a warrior?!" |

"...not by choice." Tails replied meakly, "I had to become one though because the world I'm from is always in danger... and there aren't very man who can do anything about it. I've only become stronger here... beacue... well because I'm tired of being weak and watching everyone else fight... or needing help from others." Tails stopped for a moment, and realized he sounded like he was whining. "I don't want to rely on Sonic, or Knuckles, or anyone else to protect others anymore! I want to become strong enough to hold my own... I don't want to be in Sonic's shadow any longer!" |
