Almost all of my complaints about DA2 are directly related to how rushed it was. Given an extra 6 months to a year I think it would have been a MUCH better game. |

Which is why I stipulated in my eyes. My complaints wouldn't necessarily disappear had there been more developmental time. I do my best to only speak for myself when I make statements. |

Ah, you spoke very well, Sapphy. It's just not your game. It could've been my perfect game, however, if it'd been finished. ![]() ah well. What's done is done. /just have to write a Starkhaven arc myself, I guess?

Like I said, regardless of my own feelings, it does suck for those who legitimately enjoyed the game. Hopefully, they'll manage to not lose what made you all like DA2 in their new endeavor, while still improving it for those of us who are less than enamored. |

Understood, I was just speaking from a general perspective. To make a successful game that can revitalize the dragon age name they need to give it more time as I believe the general consensus of most gamers as to what their problems in Dragon Age 2 were can be attributed to a short development cycle. EDIT: I don't know what your concerns with the game were specifically, but I'd say that Act 3 being terrible (imo) is also attributable to the game being rushed. The game's story is kinda all over the place and just how brief the third act is leads me to believe that they had to conclude it but didn't have enough time to design a proper conclusion. ....this is all probably getting very off base for this thread. All true, Wizard. Funny thing is, the rushed DA2 did save a lot of jobs. /especially with other projects demanding a high amount of resources

@Wiz: My complaints primarily are derived from a disagreement in the overall direction and storytelling of the Dragon Age franchise. That's not attributable, in my eyes, to a rushed game. It's how the producers and directors have decided they want the story of the franchise to be told. I don't have this issue with other BW franchies. Just DA. (And the tone of the DA is not one of the issues. I have no problem with dark fantasy.) |

I just hope that the jobs it saved short term don't result in more job losses long term. @Sapph: Ah very well. |

Well, we see now with ME3 that pumping in a lot of resources doesn't necessarily satisfy the customers. I just wish that whatever the DA team is working on doesn't have to be as rushed. Since that certainly doesn't make any game any better. |

no, it doesn't *sighs* You'd think whoever's in charge of timelines and such things would recognize the long view... better game equals longer shelf life equals more customers for the next game...

Amusingly, for a Sherlock Holmes tribute blog over at deviantArt, Sherlock Holmes: The Ever Evolving Icon, one of the questions directed at the deviants was: #6: If Sherlock Holmes and Liara T'Soni are the District 3 Tributes in the 74th Annual Hunger Games. Who survives and why? I think T'Soni would win, simply because she has biotics. Thoughts?EDIT: What's even MORE amusing is that you can read the comments, and you'll realise that a fair number of people don't know who Liara is

that is a spectacularly whacky combination of fandoms, really. Which Sherlock Holmes, though? Doyle's Holmes? Brett's Holmes? King's Holmes? The latest miniseries version, I'm assuming, but that's not a very specific question...

I used Doyle's Holmes in making my decision. Spectacular crossover is spectacular indeed. Someone needs to write a fic about it
