| Welcome to Cracks in the Foundation, or CitF for short. In this dystopian Pokemon roleplay site, you can play a character that supports the mighty Sinnoh Government, or one that is sworn to topple the country’s leaders, be it for peace and justice, or for their own ulterior motives. Neutral characters are also allowed, such as unaligned civilians or visitors from other regions that don’t quite want to get too involved. The characters and the events that play out between them will eventually determine how the tide of battle goes, and how the future ends up. Most is uncertain, but as the cracks in the foundation of the government grow with each passing day, one thing seems ominously apparent: there will be bloodshed, and a lot of it. |

![]() Full name: Cyrus Akagi Age: 37 Gender: Male Character type: Galactic Boss Appearance: Spiky grey-blue hair (which is a few shades grayer than it was 10 years ago), no eyebrows, grey-blue eyes which seem to be fixed in a permanent glare, gaunt, slightly thinner than in DPPt, but has at least gotten a few pounds back after the Distortion World. Mostly seen in suits instead of his old TG coat. Has several wigs to wear in the outside world, and thankfully hasn't been noticed for who he is (yet!) Personality: Stubborn as hell, won't admit that he's still planning to destroy the universe but probably still is knowing how stubborn he is. (still) Thinks that human spirit is incomplete, mostly because of emotions. Hard to get to cooperate unless he wants something from you, in which he'll be very polite and possibly do what you say depending on how much he wants what you have. His worst fear is failure, though he won't tell that to anybody. Cold and distant unless he is being manipulative, and is a little distant even then. Usually keeps his cool unless pushed to the extreme, which is pretty darn difficult to do, seeing as he usually disengages instead of continuing to talk when the conversation isn't going his way. Can be very passive-aggressive, won't admit to holding grudges but probably still does. Thinks that his opinions are better than everybody else's. He's fascinated by space, but if you say he's obsessed with space, he'll deny it. If he gives a shit about any of his followers it's really hard to tell. Strengths: Very good at talking people into believing him (or at least certain people, there are some that don't believe his BS), extremely intelligent, very skilled with computers and machines, extremely patient and can wait for what he wants when he needs to, very good at pokemon battling, has a demeanor that is hard to break. Flaws: Very iffy morals (but has at least some), uncaring, very much a misanthrope, lies all of the time, uses people, is physically weak and counts on others to guard him, as unwise as he is intelligent and can take risks without foreseeing the consequences, is rather unhealthy (but won't go see a doctor), pessimistic, delusional. History: Raised in Sunyshore by very wealthy parents. Father was a computer engineer in the early days of modern silicon computers, and became a CEO around the time his wife got pregnant. Mother was a Unovan, who met Cy's father in college. Cyrus was raised almost entirely by his mother, as his father entrenched himself in work and acted cold and distant towards his son. Both parents thought Cyrus was a disappointment. Mother was manipulative and emotionally abusive, constantly told Cyrus that he'd failed his parents and that it was his fault that her husband wasn't talking to her much anymore. Cyrus's mother was also constantly paranoid about the neighbors' opinion of her, especially since she was a foreigner. Cyrus went to college in Veilstone to study STEM subjects, excelled in them but never gave himself any free time, probably because he was determined to prove his parents wrong. After college, Cyrus's father actually told Cyrus that he was proud, and got his son a job with an in he had as a CEO. Cyrus met Saturn during this time. Cyrus was fired a year later due to disagreeing with his boss one too many times on how to do things. Father pretty much took Cyrus off of the family tree, mother agreed that their son was a "rebellious little shit" and that he meant nothing to them. After this, Cyrus couldn't find work and decided that emotions were so completely useless that it would be a good idea to mess with Mesprit, who he had met as a child during summer camp in Twinleaf. Successfully drew Mesprit out and grabbed it by the tail in order to erase his emotions as per the myth. Turns out the myth was false, and all Cyrus had three days later was a sore backside from being blasted by Mesprit's Psychic attack. Soon after this, Cyrus decided to seek the only other way out of feeling that he could think of-- death. One failed suicide attempt later, Cyrus found himself in the hospital for a few months. After that, he decided that he would become successful to spite his parents and any other naysayers. Ended up getting a job as a low-level programmer at an energy company centered in Veilstone. His bosses saw his potential this time (plus Cyrus had learned how to act in order to make people do what he wanted by then), and got promoted to near the top of the company. Tragically, the main building caught fire at this point and many of the company staff died, though Cyrus escaped with his life thanks to his Zubat and Murkrow helping to get him out of the building. Cyrus was promoted to the top of the company after this tragedy, and re-built Galactic Energy into the building that is in Veilstone today. Despite Cyrus's rather questionable taste in architecture (spikes on a building? really?), the company rose from the proverbial ashes and Cyrus became extremely successful, even more so than his father. Cyrus decided to use his money to secretly plan a way for him to gain control of a world that (he thought) had constantly screwed him over, and decided that he would re-create the world by taking the power of Dialga and Palkia. With thier power, he would make a new world, in which life would be devoid of the flaws it has in this one: spirit. The events of Platinum take place at this point, Cyrus getting close to his goals by controlling Dialga and Palkia with the red chain, but being stopped when the chain was shattered by Giratina. After that, Cyrus spent around a year in the distortion world before Giratina decided that the man had over-stayed his welcome and threw him back in Sinnoh, presumably to be caught and arrested. He was indeed caught, though instead of jail, he was sent to the hospital due to health complications from staying in a place with screwy physics. Once he had almost made his recovery and was going to be sent off to prison, however, somebody broke him out of the hospital by masquerading as a nurse. They managed to get him out safely, and took him into a long-abandoned and little-known part of the Sinnoh Underground. The government, which had just been taken over by a party that had been somewhat unheard of until a few years prior, made finding Cyrus and priority. They decided that if caught, immediate death would be too good for the man, and that Tea Parties would be an appropriate punishment. However, Cyrus is still at large today, and leads a group of rebels dedicated to overthrowing the government and instating Cyrus as Sinnoh's leader. Nobody really knows whether Cyrus has reformed or not (probably not), but the Galactic rebel faction has decided that Cyrus would be a better leader than the one they have now. Current Pokémon Team: Honchkrow, Weavile, Crobat, Gyarados, Houndoom, and Porygon2. Fun fact: Cyrus is working on a disk that will upgrade Porgygon2 into an even better mon (Porgyon3?). This was attempted at TG years ago, but the project failed and the Dubious Disks made were thrown out. Eventually others got ahold of the disks and PorygonZ became a thing, but Cyrus still wasn't satisfied with the power of PorygonZ. Edited by Cryo, Sep 22 2017, 10:13 PM.

![]() Full name: Megan Covern Age: 28 Gender: Female Character type: Government Worker Appearance: Shortish brown hair which is parted on the side, grey eyes, average height. Personality: Sarcastic, vengeful, hates being talked down to, ambitious, wants to have a position of power and importance but always ends up as somebody's flunky (and hates it). If she has a grudge against you, she will make it known and go after you like relentlessly, not satisfied until you get yours in her eyes. Constantly thinks that the world ripped her off. Strengths: Very dedicated to her goals and won't give up easily unless there's nothing she can do. She is physically fit, and works out when she has time. Megan has clear boundaries, and will let people know if they get even a toe over the line. Not afraid to speak her mind, although this can be a problem for her, especially considering the current situation with the government. Flaws: Entitled, touchy, poor leader, judgmental, has little regard for others, has authority problems, rash, envies others, violent. History: Born in Orre to a family that didn't have much money, though her parents, eventually did get hired by Cipher to catch and export Pokemon, so they moved to the Sinnoh region to do so with Megan at the age of 12. Megan was kicked out of the house when she was 18 to fend for herself, and ended up being hired by Team Galactic since she couldn't find any other jobs. Remained a grunt throughout the few years she worked for the organization. Met with Cyrus personally once, though it was for a slip-up she made on a mission that nearly got a few people killed. She didn't think it was her fault though, and has hated Cyrus's face ever since. Later moved to Unova for a few years and worked for Plasma for money, hated that too. Later moved back to Sinnoh around the time of the gov takeover and once again got the only job she could find-- though this time the job was a low-ranked government one. She's gotten at least a couple of promotions since then to a "data manager", though it's really just taking the government's actions and making them look good. If she had a choice of what department she could work in, it would be the "Correctional Department". which is basically the department that handles :"Tea Parties". Current Pokémon Team: Stunky, Joltik, Absol, Zangoose, Petilil Edited by Cryo, Sep 22 2017, 10:35 PM.

![]() Full name:Doctor Richard Monarchs, M.D. Age:57 Gender:Male Character type: Government worker Appearance: Slicked back greyish slightly purplish blue hair, feline-ish-like yellow eyes, usually seen in a white lab coat with a blue shirt underneath and blue pants. Personality: Usually looks fed-up with the world, hard worker who doesn't spend enough time with his wife and kids, hates the "snobby doctor" stereotype, but is actually pretty prideful in his own way, often disagrees with coworkers, but has gotten better at not showing open dissent as the gov took power. Very strong opinions. Strengths: Very dedicated worker, very competent at what he does, can think outside the box in terms of diagnosing and treating his patients. Flaws: Somewhat poor social skills, prideful, rather easily provoked, pessimistic. History: Born and raised in Sinnoh, went to the same university in Veilstone as Cyrus (albeit two decades earlier and to study different fields). Eventually became a doctor, working at Veilstone General Hospital for almost 25 years before being moved to the gov building in Hearthome. Saw Galactic rise and fall, didn't think much except that Cyrus was an idiot to think he could become a god. When Rick was moved to the medical ward of the Hearthome,he had to leave his wife and two adult children back in Veilstone. Current Pokémon Team: Luxray, Reuniclus |
