Mages are hard as hell to level, not because of the abilites (which are good and such), but due to the amount of difficulty it is to get into a party and level. Mages suck at soloing at low levels, and if you can't find a party, there's no way of getting to a higher level to be able to solo short quests up there. But if you can manage to run instances and harder quests with a good party, then hey, you're set until 70 on easy street. xD And by rogue's DPS, I meant combat DPS with poison, not overall DPS. I have fought many good geared mages, including a frost mage with full Tier 7 gear, and epics all over his ass. It was a very hard battle, and I didn't win for my life. But I was playing my fury warrior. I'll explain why I won with my rogue: A rogue gets the surprise sap and stealth hit on a mage; that mage is fucked, just like most other classes, except for good warlocks (demonic sacrifices + charm + taunting + health drains + soul stones) and even a decent pally (healing + bubble +stun). The best Mages have for getting rogues away is polymorph, blink, and frost nova, really, imo at the least. So if a rogue, such as a gnome rogue, fights a mage... Then Gnome rogues can bypass Frost Nova easily with racial abilities, could possibly resist polymorph ot simply interrupt it with kick, which silences the school too, and blink is no matter for sprint. So even then, DPS isn't always the case. 8D But if you want a easy class to level and a constantly sought after class for parties, then try a paladin. Healing and tanking is a want for most parties, and both at once is a plus, especially for back-up tanking. And Retribution Pallys are awesome for soloing up to the low 50s, then you should switch to your desired spec tree. Eh, I'm such a WoW nerd. >_> |

Exar, I STRONGLY disagree. Hunters are the gods of your world. and you know it, lol. unfortunately, Bliz keeps nerfing us and there are A LOT of really, really stupid hunters out there. T.T Hunters are the easiest to lvl if you go Beast master. I'm not sure about the fastest, but beast masters are the kings of mass grinding, besides an AoE ice mage, maybe. Rogues are hard to lvl, but rule at PvP cause they rape clothies if they go Subtlety. |

I would also have to disagree with both of you. I think hunts are pretty good IF the person know's how to play them. If they do, I really like marks hunters and beast master when they are lvling. But there are alot of people, like myself, that don't know how to play hunts. I just joined Alter under the name of Riniel (I think). I am a human warlock. Please help me.. lol ((PS: what are youre guys' name on Alter?)) |

I'm Avron, lvl 58 Survival Hunter. Tsorovan is Ackanar, lvl 70 mage extrordenaire. I just found out that by going survival, I can beat a rouge (any talent tree) in hand-to-hand combat. same with most warriors. It was quite a suprise for me, but maybe he Warrior didn't know his class as well as I know mine. ![]() However, I do miss being a Beast Master and having Beastial Wrath, Beast Within, and Intemidation. I suppose it's a fair trade for Preparation, Wyvern Sting, better traps, Counterattack, freaky bow range, incredible crits, and amazing resistance to movement impairing effects. The Outland awaits! |
