Allright so it's finally out and my friend is letting me borrow his copy of the game. Now this game is fun. Most battles are now all rifle-rifle unless you get lucky and happen to attack a army that only has swordsmen. The Naval Combat is cool but I feel it could be alot better. I was hoping they would do a combat system like Age of Pirates or Pirates of the Carribean for xbox, both developed by Akella. That system just owned anything. The biggest difference though is probably the map. There is more to Europe and there is India and the Americas. There are also 4 trade route spots on the global map as well but I haven't gotten there yet. The biggest difference gameplay wise is the fact that there are less regions on the map but there are things inside the region like towns, lodges, forts, that you can conquer and take over without ever touching the regions capital. This means you gotta think about how you split your force better. Currently I'm playing as the Russian Empire (I'm tired of playing as britain lol M2TW did that to me and plus the other nations don't interest me.) I am in a alliance with Norway and Poland and we're all in this war against Sweden (I don't know how their side of the war is going since they won't accept letting me see their territory). I've slaughtered the Swedes forces with small force numbers and without that many losses. Currently I'm reinforcing my borders with Sweden and reinforcing St. Petersburg (which I took from them four turns in.) I'm stretched thin though and if Poland was to declare war on me I could be in a bit of trouble (but I was able to build a wall around Kiev and it has about 400 worth of soldiers in her walls.) I'm also (somehow I don't know cause I'm only nine turns in now) at war with the Ottoman Empire which destroyed my Black Sea Fleet (it was one ship against three) like two turns in, so I'm building my forces and preparing to take Constantinople (which for some fucking apparent reason is called Istanbul in this game even though it wasn't called istanbul until 1930.) I'm at war with Georgia but I blockaded them in and I don't want to take the territory yet cause it's acting as a buffer between me and the Ottomans. Oh and the last turn I played Chechnya declared war on me so I got send three linemen regiments to deal with them. Oh, probably my favorite and most unexpected feature of the game is that the game automatically numbers your units. For example you have a 1st Regiment of Cavalry and a 2nd Regiment of Cavalry followed by a 1st regiment of footmen and so forth. This solves the problem of me remembering my troop names I give them! lol. So far my plans in the game are to take istanbul, liberate Greece, deal with the swedes, and establish a colony in America. Anyone else get this game or have a question for me? |

New update! I have taken over Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Georgia and Checnya are also mine. I'm now going to take Iceland and set up a colony in northern canada and I'm going to attack the ottoman empire through istanbul by naval invasion and I'm gonna have a small force come from the west and move in and then I will liberate Greece! |
