Anyone else getting it or has even heard about this game? This has been my fantasy game since I first played Medieval 2 Total War. I never played the first shogun but I've always wanted them to make a new one so I can relive my old Kessen days on the PS2.

I played Shogun I. Ah, the stories I made up... Like the civil war that broke a nation into several pieces, one a sort of rebellion and another an Empire(with advanced weaponry), as well as other minor nations. And then there was the demon army that began besieging the world and forced the opposing humans to band together as one force to push them back and survive...

And that's one I made when I was ten.

The A.I. has definitely improved. I always play on hard instead of normal, but lets just say I lost my 2nd battle, 1st siege, in the game already when I've never done that before. Now I'm not sure if I'm going to get wiped out, we'll see if I can recover quickly enough.

Alright my first game I lost but I didn't go down without a fight. I upgraded the homelands building to a castle and started training units after all allies and enemies around me declared war on me (they really mean it when they said starting as the takeda and oda is hard). The usegi invaded from the north and laid siege to my castle, on the second turn of the invasion they attacked. They had two armies outside my walls for a total of 4,200 to 4,300 troops I believe against my 1,200 or so. I had 6 units of bow ashigari, 2 katana units, 4 generals (including my daimyo and his brothers), and 4 yari ashagari. Plus whatever defense units I had.

I started the battle and moved my forces accordingly placing my katana units directly on the walls, yaris behind them, and my bowman behind them opening fire. The intial assault left alot of men dead on their part and about half of my forces dead along with 3/4ths of my arrows being spent. I thought all I had left to do was mow then down with my generals but then another reinforcements of 2,000 soldiers appeared V_V except they wouldn't move against me so I harassed them and made them move towards me, then after them I started moving towards their general and taking out the troops around him. I however never got to kill usegi's daimyo as he fled. So I'm happy I won and I might be able to win this after all since I'm upgrading to a fortress, when the Hoso(I think thats what their called?) invade me with around 6,000 men. They're spamming units worse than the zerg. So I gave up and restarted.

In my newest game I never got to invade the north shinano province as a trade ally conquered it first. So I slowly built trade alliances with other clans and built up my economy knowing I was going to be in the thick of it. I upgraded my castle to a fortress and other buildings to help boost my economy. Just before 1650, the northern enemy, my trade ally, betrays me and attacks. During this battle because of my fortress, I routed his 4,500 troops against my 2,000, taking only 400-500 losses myself I believe, with him losing 3,000 or so. I moved his forces within the walls so it was a killing zone. After this battle I wiped out his remaining forces that fled AND his daimyo. I hope that solves their problem for a while.

So now the hoso declared war on me AGAIN breaking a military alliance. However I kept our mutual ally out of it and I'm going to use his territory to take the hoso capital, which I can see has two units defending it. I'm finishing up building my invasion force and I'm sending in a ninja to take out the gate. This will hopefully deal a bad morale to him, hoping his daimyo is there, and giving me a huge boost in gold as their capital is a gold mine at the moment.

So that's my second game so far. I'm hoping it goes well, I don't really wish to play as another clan than the Takeda. Yukimura Sanada ftw!!

Btw I recorded both defense battles and will post them soon.

I'll get new screenshots of what my empire looks like up soon. The shogunate are about to declare realm divide on me. I only have a few trade allies left but I'm in a bind in a war against the Date. I was able to send a expedition to Kyushu and conquered the entire island and about 4 provinces in southern honshu. In the east, I'm building an army under the command of my daimyos 3rd son to take on the Date. Right now I'm stuck trying to defend my castles how I can. I didn't focus much on building an army this early in my home provinces but I'm covered everywhere except to the east.
