So the MR is about a quarter of the way into its first major arc. Nothing big has been really revealed yet but we've had some character development. I think I can confidently say some interest has been shown, so I'm asking you all a favor to help me. If you could just take the time to tell me what you think of some of the characters. Not necessarily what your character thinks, but you, yourself.

This feedback lets me know if I'm presenting and writing the characters correctly, are more accurately if my attempts to present them in a certain way are successful. It helps me be a better writer and RPer. Post em here or PM, I'd really appreciate it. Also feel free to go off on conspiracy theory tangents, I just enjoy those, seeing how different people notice different things. And who knows, maybe you might guess correctly.

Thanks

Well, I think not much about the characters, seeing as I skim to see if there's anything Simon-related so that I don't have any exterior information should I come across another character and know things I shouldn't. So...

From what I've picked up, though, Biggs is pretty crazy-awesome, and Mr. Trenchy is a little shady, so who knows what he's planning?

(Is Tyrael okay?)

Soooooo I managed to forget about my own request. >.> So there's that.

@Keshi: Not sure what you mean about Tyreal, but rest assured he is still an important character for the storyline. But fair enough in wanting to not know what would be OOC for you. BUT, that does make me feel like an asshole for not updating your storyline enough ;-;

@Blue:Purely from a gamemaster/writer perspective. Abdul is perfect for both the "Greyness" of the world I'm trying to establish, considering he is now openly working with someone associated with demons, while most other characters see demons as bad. (Kel is another example that helps create the ambiguity of good/bad, right/wrong)

Abdul also helps demonstrate the inter-connectivity gameplay I want. So far his storyline seems to have no intersection with the others. (Or if anyone sees a connection, please share, as I said earlier, I like conspiracy theories and would love to see which things you guys notice and connect.)

But as you can probably guess, all storyline will eventually converge, or at the very least cross blades momentarily.

Keshi- Simon is really easy imagine when I'm reading about him. Sometimes I have trouble believing characters as I read, but Simon seems more real.

Blue- Abdul scares the shit out of me. I just see, in my head, a skeletal being blowing stuff up and cackling about it. He really is helping to bring in the grey morality of the MR. In the end, I'm not sure demons will be considered such bad things... Maybe the humans are the bad ones. But probably not.

TK- Good work on keeping the characters separate. Most people would end up messing up their characters' personalities if they have more than three, but there is no meshing of personalities with your characters. They remain different from each other.

I think that the charred body Biggs investigated in the beginning may have something to do with Abdul... maybe... possibly...

And I have a theory that the Cave has turned into some sort of dream-place, only... not really a dream. It's somehow connected to the players' minds and emotions. The echoes are too damn confusing to think about any more, but they seem to have affected Evan in positive ways, if only temporarily by giving her something to shoot for.

She responded differently than expected, but then again the echoes went in a completely different direction than originally planned.

And thanks about the separate personalities, Zeches specifically has really changed from his original conception. He was originally just going to be an annoying, arrogant Lothian Guard. In version 1.0 that was scrapped he was set to die pretty early one. 2.0 Zeches has a better chance of surviving and actually contributing to the story, though seems to be equally good at first impressions.

I really like Abdul. I feel like he's the closest to the catalyst and the people making things happen. I feel like Biggs might not even know about him and the people he's working for.

Believe it or not I kinda like Evan. She's surly, bitter, mean, and hateful. But I really feel like she's been hurt by more than just Trevor disappearing, and that somehow she's just a diamond in the ruff. I'm very curious to see her journey.

Biggs: what can I say? He's the man. Kaboom.

Zeeches: I feel like his internal struggles and how he feels about things just leave him feeling empty and grey. Which is good. I also feel like Abdul somehow has something to do with his girl's death (I also believe that she was not from this Realm).

Ashelin and company: A good group. I really like them. Young, idealistic, and naive. And good hearted. I think they represent the best that this world has to offer. If they wind up bumping into people like Kel and Verl, they would likely alternate between bemusement, irritation, patronization, and - yes, believe it - envy. To that degree, They bring out the best in others, even if the best isn't the most tactical or efficient thing to do.

Saryli: I like him. Somehow his presence is what was missing for Kel, and has made writing or daydreaming about his storyline both fun and interesting. Nothing like putting two polar but morally grey people together and sending them on various clandestine missions. The fact that one of them is a demon, the other human, both used to be/kinda still are slaves (now)... ah... but its such a wonderful pairing. Even if it's completely unintentional.

Thanks! I really appreciate it.

I'd say I agree with most of your observations. Particularly about Abdul's situation. I hope to be able to further that story line more.

As for Kel and Saryli, probably gunna do a time jump so they can really begin. It might make it a bit awkward to sync them into other groups later but they need to get some real screen time.

yeah time jump is good. Can always excuse it as travel time or a wild and profitless goose chase or both. Pick their story back up at the point where they actually start getting an inkling of what might be going on in their fuzzy little heads. How long are we talking? Jumping a month or two? Maybe more?
