A PM can stay in power for 5 but that is usually seen as a form of cowardice. And with the Conservatives in power I don't think we will see a no-confidence vote any time soon.

On one hand, I would have preferred a Conservative minority. On the other, the NDP did astronomically better than anyone would have hoped, the Liberals failed even worse than before and the Bloc preformed so poorly that they're technically not even a party anymore. I'm glad the NDP became the opposition, because they should be able to keep the Conservatives in check, being their polar opposite on the Canadian political spectrum. Plus if the Conservatives screw up then they will be laid low like the Liberals in turn... hell, who knows, they might even do something good

They've been in control of the country for the last 4 years actually and I might not know much about politics but my opinion on their politics is that they're making the rich richer and the poor less rich sorta. I'm not sure if it was the same when they took office, but I think it's been worse since.
