Did you finish all those games Lith? Some games take me a long time to finish and others I have finished in a few weeks and it took me a year to finish 'Super Mario Galaxy 2' and 'Donkey Kong Country Returns' but I finished both Rayman games in under a month each. Some of the 'Batman: Arkham' games took me 3-5 months to finish and 'Sonic Colours' took me 2 years. The longest time it has taken me to beat a game was 5 years with 'The Simpsons: Hit and Run' and I got that game in 2004 and I got stuck on the 2nd level and couldn't finish it and I played it a few times over the following years but it wasn't until 2009 I finally beat it and then I beat another 7 levels in under a month and finished the game. Non-completion is the reason Fallout 4 and Skyrim are so low on the list. I never quite finished The Witcher 3 either, but I had more time with it, and will eventually get there.

And of course the Guild Wars games are MMOs, so they are works in progress. With 10 chars for GW1 and 48 (so far) for GW2, I'd say I have covered pretty much every aspect of the games though.

Basically, if a game offers awesome lore and/or good base-building, I'm a sucker for it.

Do you like to finish your games 100 percent or just the main part of the game? Some games like the 'Arkham' series and 'Rayman' series had a lot of bonus things in them outside of the main game and in the 'Arkham' games you had Riddler's riddles, trophies, stolen data (Arkham Origins) and cameras (Arkham City) to find along with bonus missions with different villains some of which were part of the downloadable content and I found all the riddles, trophies, stolen data, cameras and balloons in 'Arkham Asylum', 'Arkham City' and 'Arkham Origins' and completed all the bonus missions but I haven't found all the riddles and trophies in 'Arkham City' and find some of them too hard to find 'cause of the size of the game. I also didn't finish all the bonus levels in 'Rayman Origins' and 'Rayman Legends' 'cause some of them were WAY too hard and annoyed me. Posted Image

Do I look like a filthy casual? :P

Unless every possible side-quest, alternate path, easter egg, collectible, etc is accounted for, the game is not over.

Filthy casual? Is that what they call people who don't finish games completely? Posted Image Posted Image What is the hardest video game you have ever played and has there ever been a game that has been too hard for you to finish? I have finished a lot of games over the years and some have taken me longer than others but there have only been 2 games I haven't been able to finish and they are 'Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)' and 'Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels.' 'Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) was a nightmare to play and I liked the look of Soleanna and some of the levels but the levels were WAY too hard, Sonic moved too fast, the controls didn't work properly all the time and the camera angles made it difficult to see sometimes. Still I managed to finish at least more than half the game and I liked playing as Silver and would like to see Silver brought back for another game but other than that the game is the hardest Sonic game I have ever played and I am not surprised so many people call it the worst. There was a remake of the 'Crisis City' level in 'Sonic Generations' which I liked and I think if they remade some of the levels like that again and made them easier more people would like them.

Hmm... game too hard for me to finish? Most likely several 80s or 90s era games. Nothing recent though. Of course, even back then I had the ability to replay certain tricky levels in my head during sleep, spotting hidden paths, easter eggs, etc.

That said, I harbour a special kind of hatred for games that are painfully obviously designed with a console controller in mind, as far as control and interface goes, then are ported as-is to the PC.

Ohh, you do that too? I thought I was the only one that did that. Posted Image I have a lot of things come to me when I am sleeping or when I am lying awake in bed late at night and can't sleep like songs, music and ideas for stories and I usually end up having to get out of bed to write them down so I don't forget about them and some of my best songs have been written in my head when I have been in bed. One time I had a dream about a game I was stuck on and I worked out how I was going to finish it and had the idea floating around all day but by the time I played the game I had completely forgotten about it. I know what you mean with games like that and I have a Sonic PC Collection that has 'Sonic Adventure', 'Sonic Heroes', 'Sonic Mega Collection Plus' and 'Sonic Riders' and it was really difficult trying to play 'Sonic Adventure' and 'Sonic Heroes' on a keyboard and I tried re-configuring the controls but it didn't help but then I got an X Box 360 Controller for Windows around the time I got the 'Ghostbusters (2009)' video game for PC and it made it a lot easier to play them and I don't know if you can still buy controllers like that now but they are worth checking out. Posted Image They don't work with emulators or Dos Box games though and before they released a lot of the old Nintendo 64 games on the Nintendo eShop my Brother-In-Law showed me how to use an emulator to play them on my laptop and it was a nightmare playing them with the controls and I played 'Donkey Kong 64' and gave up 'cause the controls weren't right.
