I figured you'd want to keep Barry around as a pet. He was your archenemy. That some fun with him if you're gonna keep the Legends alive. |

You misunderstood the point, RF till now never could kill Barry because he as RF only exists because The Flash exists, if he were to kill Barry he dooms himself to be a normal person, the spear allows him to break the chains, this is why Eobard does everything else he does to hurt Barry, he hates him but cant kill him so he makes him suffer in every other way possible, so once his destiny is no longer tied to Barry's he's happy to kill him. The legends aren't his nemesis to Eobard due to his powers and ego he never see's them as anything more pest's, also they are the fun reminders of his victory, so for their annoyances in trying to stop them Thawne & Dahrk make the legends serve them, Malcolm being the only one wanting to kill them all is the only one without a Legend around because he didn't want to gloat just ensure their victory. Also as we saw RF didn't think the Legends getting their memories back mattered much due to his abilities, a fellow speedster with insight into speedsters, and a chance to reconnect to the speedforce, well that would be a threat Eobard's ego wouldn't overlook hence another reason to kill Barry over the others. |

Also, couldn't Eobard have just used the spear to bring Eddie back so Black Flash stops hurting him? |

Yes but Eobard seems the sort who would presume his own victory will stick so why bring back Eddie to counter the BF's desire to kill RF when he can leave Eddie dead and hold BF as a reminder of his victory again. Like the legends BF isn't his nemesis it's just a challenge he had to overcome, keeping him is like keeping the legends a living trophy that everytime he looked at him would be a reminder of his triumph, Flash is different he wanted to be The Flash, he wanted to be a hero but he found out his destiny was to be a monster, by killing Barry he removes the hero he could never be and he instead fills a void himself as the loved and respected leader of Star Labs combining his desires to destroy The Flash, be a celebrated hero & restoring the part of his life he enjoyed about being stuck in the past. Keep in mind bringing Eddie back wouldn't matter in the end as Sara restored reality to what it was like before, so it's not like it would ultimately matter at the end of the episode. |
