Yikes! This is shocking news and could mean Season 7 is the last one.

Though they could survive if they bring back Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff.

I heard the news and I was really surprised and thought 'Once Upon A Time' was going to be cancelled but the showrunners have confirmed it is going to keep going and Season 7 is going to be a reboot with new characters joining. I would love to see them bring back Georgina Haig as Elsa and Elizabeth Lail as Anna. Season 4 was my favourite season as you know and it sadly doesn't look like Georgina's new TV show 'Mars' is going through. I have heard some people say there are rumours Sophie Lowe will be returning to play Alice again and I never saw 'Once Upon A Time In Wonderland' 'cause it never aired here but I was surprised she wasn't moved to the main show when that was cancelled. Good idea Josh!! We should contact with the networks and say we want Georgina Haig as the main star for Season 7 but I would watch anything she is in at least once 'cause the girl is gorgeous. Once Upon a Time: Creators Were Prepared To End Series

Quote:

Once Upon a Time will wrap its sixth season later tonight, and it could have been the end of the series completely. However, the series was just renewed for a seventh season. The series will go on without its star. Jennifer Morrison revealed after the last episode that she would not return for a new season as a regular cast member. She will likely only appear in one episode.

The men behind the ABC series, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, spoke about the possibility that the season six finale could be end of the series in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter released before the series’ renewal. They were both ready for the series to end.

Horowitz said the following:

“The way we sort of look at it is, these are stories for these characters, and there are set endpoints to different stories, but, that doesn’t mean there aren’t new stories for different characters. I think that by the end of the season finale, a lot of what we’ve been doing for the last six years is wrapped up — we hope in a very satisfying way — and then we move forward in a way that at the end of it, hopefully you’ll see what we’re hoping to do in season seven.”

Edward Kitsis chimed in with the following:

“We understand that this could be the last year. So we aren’t trying to hope for the best. We feel like we’ve completed this story, and the next chapter of Once Upon a Time will be completely different.”

When Will 'Once Upon a Time' Season 7 Air? What to Expect

Quote:

"Once Upon a Time" Season 6 will be landing its finale episodes over the weekend and just right in time, ABC has just confirmed the renewal of Season 7.

Amidst a few reports claiming that the fantasy-drama series has been struggling with low ratings since late April, the network has given the series another try after they made the renewal announcement earlier this week, as confirmed by Deadline.

Shortly after the seventh installment was confirmed, a few regulars from the show including one of its protagonists Emma Swan played by Jennifer Morrison, have announced their departure after Season 6. With this, fans are left curious how Season 7 will pull off and if there will be new faces underway.

Not too many details about the new installment were hinted after the renewal, leaving many cliffhangers of how the remaining cast members will push through another set of storylines without some of tthe series' well-loved characters.

Speaking of, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the cast members who will be leaving "Once Upon a Time" after Season 6 are Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Emilie de Ravin (Belle), Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Jared S. Gilmore (Henry Mills) and Rebecca Mader (Zelena).

While Season 6 can be the end of story for some characters, it has also left a possibility that "Once Upon a Time" Season 7 may introduce new characters as the new chapter begins.

Moreover, though executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis confirmed the names of who will be leaving the show after Season 6, they also did not miss out talking about the possibility that they might return in the future.

"Words can't do justice to what Ginny, Josh, Emilie, Rebecca and Jared brough to Once Upon a Time... but we'll try... never have we had the privilege of working with a more talented group of collaborators." as quoted on the news site.

It further stated, "Each brought unique talent, incredibble intelligence, and their own individual bit of magic as they gave life to these iconic characters."

Meanwhile, the premiere for "Once Upon a Time" Season 7 is still under wraps until the Season 6 finale comes into view. For now, watch out for the closing episode which airs this May 14 on ABC.

News about Season 7 of 'Once Upon A Time' has been revealed and there are going to be new and returning characters and Henry will be staying in the show but will be played by a different actor. I am kinda disappointed they didn't get the 'Frozen' characters back and the rumours about Alice returning turned out to be untrue 'cause I think they could have been good additions but I am interested in seeing what they do with the new characters and where the show will go from here. Maybe they will surprise everybody and Season 7 won't be the disaster some people think it will turn out to be. Posted Image

'Once Upon a Time' Season 7: All the New and Returning Castmembers

Quote:

Who's in? Who's out? And who's new? THR breaks it all down.
The seventh season of ABC's Once Upon a Time is coming into focus.

Following the exits of stars Ginny Goodwin (Snow White), Jennifer Morrison (Emma) and more, the Disney-inspired fairy-tale drama is rebooting itself for what producers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis called the "next chapter."

To help keep track of all the comings and goings, The Hollywood Reporter breaks down who's out and who's staying, as well as all the new faces coming aboard for season seven.

"I hesitate to use the word 'reboot.' We're more thinking about it as a hybrid of a lot of things," Horowitz told THR in May after the season-six finale. "We're paying homage to the original premise, but there are certain characters who are returning and some who are not. It's a combination of a lot of things, but what we're trying to do is go in a new direction but stay true to the spirit of what the show has always been."

OUT

In addition to original series regulars Goodwin and Morrison, Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Jared Gilmore (Henry), Emilie de Ravin (Belle) and Rebecca Mader (the Wicked Witch) are all walking away from the franchise. (Expect Morrison to come back for an episode or two in season seven to close out Emma's storyline.)

RETURNING

Season seven (and presumably the series' future) will be built around Lana Parrilla (Regina), Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold) and Colin O'Donoghue (Captain Hook).

"Everybody has said they'd be willing to come back. As our show is and has been for six years, we see people come back all the time," Kitsis said about seeing any of the exiting stars returning.

NEW FACES

There are a number of new series regulars joining Once for season seven. They are:

• Andrew J. West (The Walking Dead), who plays a grown-up version of Gilmore's Henry. (Series regular)

• Alison Fernandez, who plays Lucy, Henry's long-lost daughter, who, in a nod to the pilot, shows up on his doorstep to prompt him into saving his family. (Series regular)

• Dania Ramirez (Devious Maids), who is playing a character that is being kept under wraps. (Series regular)

• Gabrielle Anwar (Burn Notice), who is playing a character that is being kept under wraps. (Series regular)

• Mekia Cox (Chicago Med), who is playing a character that is being kept under wraps. (Recurring)

• Adelaide Kane (Reign), who is playing a character that is being kept under wraps. (Recurring)

• Rose Reynolds (Poldark), who is playing a character that is being kept under wraps. (Recurring)

Producers have noted that they play to "open up the universe more" in season seven, which includes just how they get to see Henry as an adult and what that means for Regina. Season seven, Kitsis said, will explore the "epic love story" between Lucy's mother and Henry, who is the grandchild of Prince Charming.
