In order to promote Christ-like character qualities among our players, I am going to start having a weekly character focus. Each focus will feature one of the 49 Character Qualities, along with a corresponding Command of Christ. Players are encouraged to demonstrate these qualities in their various roleplays, as well as in their lives. Those characters that demonstrate the importance of these character qualities (whether by incorporating them into their own lives or displaying the consequences of a lack of those qualities) will be featured as examples of the character focus, as well as recieving an incentive in the form of being able to add skills/abilities/attributes faster. This week's Character Quality Focus is... Creativity vs. Underachievement Creativity is... ...Approaching a need, a task, an idea from a new perspective. ...Cultivating wise thoughts, prudent words, and skillful actions to carry out God's will. Corresponding Command of Christ... ...Go the Extra Mile -- Matthew 5:38-42 -- Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Questions for Self-Examination: - Can I identify 'enemies' in my life? - What blessing have I given my enemies? - Have I identified needs in the life of my enemies? - Have I asked God to show me creative ways to benefit my enemies? - Am I praying for my enemies? - Have I identified positive qualities in my enemies? - Have I asked God to make me a channel of His love? - Do I understand the mercy that God gives me? - Do I continue to do good to my enemies, even when I see no change? May God Bless you and make His face to shine upon you and bless you with a creative mind and spirit to use for His glory! |
