A lot of people have complained about this and just about everybody has noticed this fact: that it is really hard to get a good villain going. You work hard on the back story, get all set up, pull your first job or do your first dastardly deed... And every hero and their dog shows up to fight you. The numerous 'hero busts' of the past need not be mentioned. The heroes, because of several reasons, simply have an easier time of it. To name a few...

1) Being a hero does not require the same level of secrecy and running from the law that being a villain does. People like heroes and they don't like villains, which means that villains generally get a harder time of it from the public at large.

2) Heroes tend to show up at events in force, meaning that fights usually consist of two or three villains at the most and every hero within driving range. This naturally gives the good guys an advantage.

3) Heroes do not quibble among themselves (at least not fatally) and that means that their population does not thin due to their own numbers.

And the list goes on. So far the best thing we had for villains was the first Syndicate, which consisted of several villains all working together. And they managed to pull off quite a number of fairly impressive attacks, etc.

So with all of that in mind I want to put together a villain academy. I think this will be a good idea for several reasons: first off, it gives new villains a chance to actually get on their feet. A lot of neat characters get smashed on their first outing because of a simple lack of practice. It is unreasonable to expect a brand new character to be able to compete with those that have actually been around the block a few times.

So here's where I need help -- in order to count as an actual academy and get all the advantages that come with that we need three fairly-high level baddies -- at least. I have a few but the catch is that the minimum 3 have to come from different players. So what I need is two baddies with a skill or ability at 5 or over. I took the liberty of compiling a list of existing villains that already qualify:

Winchester Hawke
Randi
Jeff Ronson
Gladiator
Elise
Shudder
T. Lewis
Slage

If one of these characters belongs to you and you believe they might be the personality type for and have an IC reason to be a teacher in a new academy put together by Shudder, let me know (as in, post it here.) I also welcome the idea of characters created specifically to be instructors and am looking to have four or five instructors to start with -- each in a different area of specialty. I have some more ideas for students and whatnot that I will post later, but let me know if any of you have a desire to help with this. I really want as much help on this thing as possible.

I love the idea, and gladly would support it with a character of mine. But they do lack the skills to be an instructor currently. My 1 other free slot is reserved for a character plan that I'm building. Perhaps somewhere down the road I shall assist.

I'm all for Jeff being able to help out with the academy... however, there isn't really an IC reason for doing so at this point.

Slage? Wow... I had no idea he had anywhere near the skill level to actually assist. Like Rave, I don't entirely see an IC reason why Slage of all people would become an instructor, but such things can always be considered.

I am fairly certain Randi wouldn't teach... though depending on how rp goes that may change. However, I've got plenty of free character slots and I'm not against having an instructor character. I'll talk it over with you later and you can tell me what you think.
