there needs to be a misunderstood section of people, like The Incredible Hulk, he tries to help people but ends up destroying every thing. |

OOC Why exactly would we need one? They would go into the meta humans category |

Feel free to create such a character. Not sure what you mean by a section. The beauty of Colossal Heroes is creativity within the form. Do realize that a misunderstood hero of that nature may not live very long if on the forum, as pretty much everyone from the police up will probably want him dead, and dying is actually rather easy on this forum. :) |

I think what he's saying is that there are people, such as Osprey (my character), who are labeled heroes, and there are people, such as Dr. Oscar (my other character), who are labeled villains, but there should be yet another group or categorization that is a misunderstood group, meaning, not a hero or a villain, just misunderstood as one or the other. An example of this might be my old character Jason Ives, a.k.a. Steel. He wasn't a villain or a hero... just a misfit or misunderstood character. |

Well...as I see it, nobody is even really labeled either way at the beginning. You aren't required to say if you are one way or the other. That said, I think you could easily put the misunderstood hero down as a hero. Being misunderstood is something other people do to your character. The character is obviously trying to be a hero, and at least by initial inference, this makes him a hero. |

Look at this , I think it sums up what he means:
Hero and Villain are entirely opposed to each other, but in a different way Fencerider and Misunderstood are opposed to each other (despite being between Hero and Villain). Fenceriders try not to make a supreme enemy of either main category, while Misunderstoods seem to be everyone's enemy. |

I think we all have a pretty good grasp of what a misunderstood hero is. In response to the original question however I think that a misunderstood hero category would be entirely superfluous. As it is right now, most of the "heroes" in Colossal City are misunderstood, with the police and city government viewing them as unnecessary rabble rousers. You could easily categorize Sunbeam's character Justin Laurence as misunderstood after his fight with Northstar, or vice versa. Pretty much every character on this forum will be "misunderstood" at some point in their story. Categorizing someone as misunderstood before they even get a chance to be misunderstood seems a bit uncalled for if you ask me. |

Excellent point Stingray, but I want to make an exception: Hammerhand. He is a noble arrogant idiot. Pretty hard to misunderstand. :P |
