After a brief conversation with Sunbeam yesterday, it occurred to me that perhaps, I am not making myself entirely clear when referring to other methods of dealing with the crime organizations. If a long time player like Sunbeam was scratching his head, well¡Kchances are some of the rest of you were too. Below I have listed two tried and true methods, which I hope will fire your imaginations and get you rolling in the right directions. 1. The guillotine effect: Gathering a group of inherently anti-authoritarian, naturally violent individuals together under one roof takes diplomacy, charisma, and probably most important of all, a respectably powerful reputation. (Quite often a thick wallet helps, but not always.) In some cases all this is replaced by inherited power, but in nearly every criminal organization out there, the principal remains the same. The leadership is the key. Like a government, business, or family, the sudden removal of the actual or symbolic head of the organization has long lasting and highly detrimental effects. Unless a powerful successor rises by right or might within the very immediate future, the organization nearly always shatters into numerous and fragmentary factions or, in some cases, ceases to exist entirely. Remove the head, and the body dies. 2. The stomp effect: Everyone respects someone bigger than them, and for this reason, most criminal orgs are really only collapsed with government assistance. There is a reason the mafia avoids the police. Historically most of the ¡§great¡¨ criminal cartels have met their demise, not to the sound of rolling gunfire, but to the click and scratch of pens. An officer of the law may put them behind bars, but the lawyers and accountants are the ones who throw the books and toss away the keys. In fact most of the ¡§great¡¨ American con artists and criminal masterminds of the last hundred years met their demise at the hand of either venereal diseases, or tax evasion. In more recent days, organized crime has fallen prey to honest citizens who see something they know to be outright criminal and quietly report it to the right people, allowing DA¡¦s, the FBI, the DEA, and Homeland Security to get involved, often times taking measures the local authorities are incapable of. With those two ideas laid out, here are my suggestions. If you are one of the more violent type, try decapitating the organization. Wiping out the Guild Council would actually be surprisingly easy. Most of the powered characters on the forum could do it, provided they did a minimal amount of recon before hand. Similarly with the Russians, as the Russian mafia is far less family based and tends to rely far more on mutual interests and corporate gains. Eliminating the Cosani¡¦s in this manner would probably be a bit harder simply because a traditional succession is well established and would require the attacker to kill almost a dozen separate people, some of which might not even be in Colossal, before it¡¦s collapse. The second method, is in my opinion much more interesting. Finding a witness or evidence, building a case, convincing the right people, all the while dodging bullets and knocking heads? Now that¡¦s a story. Sure the CCPD might not wanna get involved, but there are other ways to put their feet to the fire. Get someone in the federal government involved. Take something to the FBI, DEA, Homeland Security. Get help from your fellow heroes. Get over the hero complex. ƒº Be sure to check with the admins if you have an idea for a witness or evidence to make sure it fits with the continuity, or even if you have a plan to kill everyone. :) We are not, believe it or not, your enemies, and, as I hope you now understand, defeating the crime orgs is not undoable. It simply takes some apparently out of the box thinking. Stingray |

With that said, lets get a lawyer and sue them all :P Sooner or later someone is going to bring the military if they don't respect the law... |
