Before your country can officially take part in the Altverse community, you must first go through the application process. Before you apply, make sure to read the Rules and the official page. In addition, you must provide a link to the main article of the country you plan to be using. Although strongly encouraged but not required, the article should be of decent length that provides sufficient information about the country. Be prepared to make the necessary changes to your country before it can be deemed a part of Altverse. Under no circumstance may you add your nation, claim your nation is part of, or otherwise insert information that may give the impression that your country is in any shape or form connected to Altverse and/or its material until you have been given explicit approval from the community consensus/moderator.

The most immediate issue for me is that I prefer more detail in the wiki page, but that's not the biggest issue at the moment. It's just that personally I like to see more detail. The current biggest issue is that well, Gaza's already been claimed. |

Your issues with me have been solved. However, I alone am hardly the voice of the entire community. The other person who had major issues is DogofWar, talk to him. |

Not 100% sure, but he did bring it into the 2015 Chicago summit thing, so there's that. |

I still have a few gripes regarding the nation -I'm still not convinced that the Muslims would all leave India. Bear in mind that even after all the discrimination they received that the Jews did not have a mass exodus of Nazi occupied Europe to after the war after the holocaust had taken place. Most massive displacements of ethnic communities results in widespread violence - the Partition of India was especially violent, and not all the Muslims left India in that case. A campaign of genocide is the only way I can see the Muslim population thoroughly decimated, or at the very least the threat of genocide. If your history made Pakistan more powerful then there is a possibility that more would move there (as the Jews did in Arab countries when it became clear they would face violence, and that Israel had a higher standard of living anyway) but as you make it much weaker then its even harder to buy into the mass exodus again without violence on a huge scale. -Its unlikely that India would be an ally to America so readily. After WWII the west was still seen as colonial powers, and America's firm alliance to imperialist Britain left it more unpopular to many former colonies then the USSR. Communism is often seen as anti-colonialist - Nelson Mandela rather brilliantly summed it up when he said "Communists have always played an active part in the fight by colonial countries for their freedom, because the short term objects of communism will always correspond with the long term objects of freedom movements". If India allied with the US, they would be throwing their lot in with Britain as well - to many people's eyes, its likely that they would be under indirect British control again, something that would seem more abhorrent then communism. If India was to ally with the US it would likely be like Indonesia under Sukarno/Suharto or Pakistan under its early military generals where there would be massive violence against communists, but little actual democracy. The USSR was also careful not to piss off potentially powerful allies - Soviet officials would laugh at the suggestion to imprison popular leaders of the country. If they really wanted a leader removed they would have them accidentally fall down a flight of stairs into a box of ammunition. -If India really did threaten to use nuclear weapons then the international community would probably be angry at the very least. India could also not bully Pakistan into halting their own nuclear weapons program - both governments would recognise that the weapons are a deterrent as the US and the USSR did as time went on. If Pakistan withdrew from the NPT then it has full rights to make its own nuclear weapons and would probably get some sort of covert support from the first or second world. India could also not economically force Pakistan to give up its program like the US is trying to do with Iran as either the USA/USSR would just keep on funding Pakistan. -I doubt India could become an economic or military powerhouse by 1962 as its economy would still be developing. Like in real life its likely that India's economic rise will coincide with China, and it will only be an emerging power following the end of the cold war. -I also doubt that Nehru would be as hated as you make him out to be. Nehru was largely responsible for building up the modern Indian state helping modernise poor rural areas as well as make India a secular democracy rather then the religious military governments of Pakistan which failed to have any real visionary leaders after Jinnah died. Nehru also helped make the Indian nation one single state rather then it dividing on sectarian and/or ethnic lines. Although later leaders (such as Indira Gandhi) may have been hated in his heyday Nehru was not. -India will struggle to be as centralised and thus as powerful as the page seems to imply. There's just to many ethnic groups for India to function like the USA where the government whilst democratically elected can exercise power reasonably well (and even then the US government is suffering from a divided congress without major ethnic and religious divides). -The page isn't terribly well written and I have concerns that you would use India in a rather aggressive manner. Its fine for less powerful nations (such as Mexico) to be aggressive as they probably could not go toe-to-toe with a major power like the US, Russia or China. India could against China, and your martial seems to suggest that India would likely try and invade Pakistan or something at one point. I'll admit role playing as a major world player is quite difficult, hence why I dropped India personally. I would recommend that you pick out a cultural/ethnic region of India and make that its own nation thats not very powerful, or concentrate on India as a separate project. I'll support this as long as the West Bank is literal claimed territory (as in, not all of the world recognises Israel's legitimacy over the West Bank) |
