Before your country can officially take part in the Altverse community, you must first go through the application process. Before you apply, make sure to read the Rules and the official page. In addition, you must provide a link to the main article of the country you plan to be using. Although strongly encouraged but not required, the article should be of decent length that provides sufficient information about the country. Be prepared to make the necessary changes to your country before it can be deemed a part of Altverse. Under no circumstance may you add your nation, claim your nation is part of, or otherwise insert information that may give the impression that your country is in any shape or form connected to Altverse and/or its material until you have been given explicit approval from the community consensus/moderator.

What about the Nordreich Union, I will probably have to drop it then?
Nordereich Union was put forward by StryCar, not you. The problems with the Nordereich Union is the inclusion of Germany, who would never defect from the EU - the EU is currently their bitch after all. To be honest only the Scandinavian nations of Norway, Finland and Sweden would really join, and it would probably be federated like the USSR or Belgium (i.e on ethnic lines).

As for nukes, the only reason to have them is as a deterrent. The only region where this would work without changing geopolitics hugely is Sub-Saharan Africa where there is a huge amount of conflict. A more stable state there could have nukes, but it would likely be like Pakistan overall.

'It' referred to Germany and not the Nordreich Union, if they aint getting Germany I am taking it with Austria.
Can the US give full control of its nukes to the countries it is sharing with, that will give Germany with 20 nukes.

No country gives full control of ones nukes to another. The only way to have nukes is to not sign the NPT (unless you are the UK, US, Russia/USSR, China and France) in which case you get international pressure to do so. The only countries who haven't are accepted to have legitimate reasons (that being they will be invaded) if they didn't have them with the exception of North Korea, but the DPRK is hard to control.

Okay, normally I wouldn't really care if a new nation joined, but never in a million years would Austria become apart of a country called "Germany." Austria is a nation which strongly admires and adores its history, and the Austrian people are much different from their northern cousins. They have two entirely different societies created by two entirely different cultures and histories. It's like the English people of actual England and those of the United States. At some points they might have shared a government, but one side or the other was never pleased with that shared government. You cannot simply attach Austria to Germany, and then still continue to refer to that country as Germany. Something like along the lines of Germanic Union may be more appropriate, but then again, I doubt Austria would ever join willingly. That's just my two cents. Also, I agree with Dog of War. No country would just hand over nuclear weapons to the other. Nuclear weapons are not the only thing that make a country powerful. You should probably also be able to write, rather than just copy and paste off of wikipedia.

TLDR: I would never support this country.

Yeah, overall nukes aren't really anything but a deterrent. I mean sure the five world powers have nukes, but thats because they have been the five world powers for 100+ years. Of the other states only India has the potential to be a major power, and even then it has a multitude of internal problems.

Justin raised an excellent point with Brazil and Japan, both of which are bigger international players then North Korea and Pakistan who both have nukes. Those two countries are among some of the worst to live - one is currently at war with numerous terrorist groups and the other is a pariah state.

Even the states with alleged nukes are also mired by conflict, such as Israel. Hell, the only country atm who is close to possessing nukes is Iran, which is also not a great nation.

Except for the nukes owned by the big 5, the only countries with nukes are usually those with warlike tendencies or hostile relations. Germany in itself is arguably more powerful then the UK in some respects (partly because the UK is Americas lap dog) because of its larger economy. Germany currently shares nukes, and as such would have no need to manufacture their own.

Okay, I still stand by my stance that Germany could have it's own nukes if we tweak Cold War history, but I draw the line at Austria joining Germany.

There actually was a time when Austrians wanted to be "Germany". This was back during the time when German Unification was first happening, Austria championed a model of German Unification now referred to as "Greater Germany", which would have included Austria as part of Germany. Prussia however championed the idea of "Lesser Germany", which excluded Austria. Considering that Austria existed as a nation during World War 1, I think you can tell that Prussia won that one.

I know some historians claim the Austrians wanted to be part of Germany during Anschluss, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I know 100% for a fact though that since the end of WW2, Austrian national identity has developed separate from Germany, and so I don't think that there's any way that Austria would be part of Germany unless we go as far back as the 1800's and make it so that Austria won ther German Unification thing and "Greater Germany" triumphed over "Lesser Germany".

BUT I am STRONGLY opposed to such a change because that would mean we would have to completely redo ALL history after German Unification.

I'll be blunt here. Germany has one of the most complex histories, almost on the level of China and Russia, and is hard to change. The end of WWII or the fall of the Berlin Wall are the easiest places to start I guess, but even then its difficult.

OK so you rip the Indian history to shreds and make a Federal Kingdom Of India which no Indian would want, I am an Indian and live in India, we would never approve anything like a kingdom after independence, it would only mean that there was no Indian National congress, no Gandhiji, if that would have happened India would have been divided into numerous small states Pakistan and Bangladesh would suffer a same fate, or at least into two unions South and North and probably North-East. As for Germany and Austria you are saying like due to them being different they are different nations, OK their languages are almost the same, here you have got many languages and cultural diversity, yet we are together otherwise I would have been belonging to a nation called MAGADH

I strongly imply with India that it only became a monarchy because the first king was in cahoots with the west and was a dictator who used brute force and anti-Pakistani actions to consolidate power. ie also elevated members of Congress to be a Raj - an unpopular decision, but one where if questioned he would silence. He was granted power because he was willing to negotiate with the British, and essentially kept India as a puppet state for the west for continued support, twisting the words on Gandhi to his own ends. In the Cold War this happened all around the world with both the USA and the USSR keeping all manner of dictatorships in power. While yes after the Cold War many collapsed the more powerful ones (Saudi Arabia, China) retained power. I could argue that the majority of Africa should be small nations yet their boarders where not determined by its people but its colonial masters. Some Africans wish for traditional tribal leaders to be in politics, or communists, or whatever, but their governments are corrupt/authoritarian (both of which the FKI's are). India is also a federal monarchy, and I emphasise the federal part - each Raj is a ceremonial country in its own right with the central government only really directing foreign affairs and defence.

The difference between India and Austria is that Austria itself had been a world power for many years prior to the end of WWI whilst India has only started to come close around the 1990's. India is also different to Germany as Germany was possibly one of the most influential nations up until 1945 (it started a world war after all) and even after that it remained a power in Europe. India started t be on the rise in the 1990's when it opened its economy, but before that it had done little in international affairs outside of its region.

Nationalism has also been traditionally stronger in Europe then Asia - for example, when the USSR broke up there was not ethnic genocide like there was in Yugoslavia. The only way I can expect the two to unite is in a Yugoslavic/Soviet/Czechoslovakia way - i.e, that the Soviets managed to annexe Austria into East Germany.....somehow.

I am aware that the FKI is a stretched idea, but if you notice I have never said anything about Germany and Austria - my biggest complaints have been the nukes, the Berlin Wall and the large amount of text copied and pasted from wikipedia. The nukes can be argued as it goes for all nations - if say Westland had nukes I would question it just as much for example. The Berlin Wall I've explained before, but the fall of it really was something that shocked the world, and helped end Communism - and as said it would only happen under a leader like Gorbachev. However the five major Soviet Leaders are some of the most influential men of the 20th century, and if we change them then the consequences could include the USSR either falling sooner or not at all - both of which would change history in a dramatic way. The last point - the copy and pasting from wikipedia - just shows a lack of effort or understanding, neither of which is an admirable trait. While I admit some of my content bends reality in all sorts of ways it is original, or at least paraphrased from other sources rather then just ripped off.
