Constitution of the United Provinces of Cisplatina

Unto God, We the Assembled People's of these United Provinces pledge fidelity, in Hope that through Providence's goodwill shall preserve us a nation bound to the preservation of the general welfare, prosperity and happiness. Through this establishing document, we shall secure the blessings of liberty, promote the general welfare and for this and future generations do ordain and establish this constitution.


  • 1. All power shall henceforth be made clear that it is naturally derived from the sovereignty of the people and none else. The validity of the state shall be established through the social contract of man. Within the authority of the sovereignty of man shall he deem the government unfitting may amend it or abolish it for the sake of the common good.

    Amending the constitution shall require at least 5% of the nation's population to petition their grievances to the government. Through popular referendum, requiring a majority will the measure be considered by the legislature. Amendments may only originate from the general populace.

    3. The state shall make no law establishing or favoring a particular religious establishment or institution of ideal or prohibiting it from private practice.
    There shall be no religious test or prerequisite for any public office. There shall be no required oaths or affirmations in the belief or disbelief of a deity or deities for any public office.

    4. The people shall retain the right to peacefully assemble in public settings, without disrupting the freedom of movement of onlookers, and shall maintain the right to petition and demand grievances.

    5. All elections shall be organized accordingly by the state, guaranteeing that all permitted and registered voters the ability to vote.

    6. The people shall be secure in their persons, dwellings, papers and possessions from unreasonable searches and seizures. Warrants shall be issued under probable cause supported by oath or affirmation.

    7. No law shall be established to curtail or restrain the freedom of expression. None shall be prohibited from publishing any work of any subject. Works that involve slanderous or false accusations may be held accountable by the state. Treasonous, or material that explicitly outlines a crime may be held accountable by the state.

    8. All courts shall be opened to every person and must undergo a speedy, affordable trial. None shall be deprived of legal counsel and must be provided a public defense if funds, lack of support is suspected. Right and justice shall be administered without sale, denial, or delay.

    9. No standing army shall be kept without the proper consent of the legislature. Military power shall be subordinate of the civilian authority of the state.
    Individuals currently in a state of active duty shall be barred from filing a public office.

    10. Private property shall never be taken for public use without proper compensation. Local municipalities and local governments may exercise the right of eminent domain. Along with the legislature and executive, organs of the government may also exercise eminent domain. Persons who feel unjustifiably taken advantaged of shall retain the ability to petition the courts for reparations.
