People keep saying this course is easy. But I found it difficult to get a good grade on exams. I've been getting grades below the average.

Does anyone have any tips on how to ace this course?

Take notes. A lot of notes. When I'm in SOC my hands don't stop typing, because that's the only way you'll retain information while taking it all down.
And read, and find the important points in the readings - there usually aren't that many, and can be put into list form.
I found discussion to be not helpful :\
Oh, and go to lecture.

I agree. If you type faster than you write, I would recommend taking your laptop with you to class and take notes on the slides and the extra comments the professor makes. Make sure you understand all the concepts in the lecture notes and skim the readings for the general point. I hope that helps!
