Lei woke up to Deron's face looking down at her. She thought back to the past few events.

"Where am I?" She asked, turning her head to the side. She sat up. It was the hospital wing. "Again I'm here. This is becoming a trend." Deron aided her sitting up.

"You fainted earlier from lack of nutrition and internal injuries. I went to get you some new clothes but they all had blood on them." He looked at her with a sad look in his eyes.

"Oh, sorry. It seems like the secret's out." She tried to laugh it off but he looked angrily at her.

"How can you laugh? You almost died! You were coughing up blood and giving away your food every day! What good did it do?" Lei was taken back by his sudden anger but she looked away.

"I had to take care of her. She's my cousin after all."

"And what good has that done? She's already been brainwashed!" He stopped himself from going any further when Lei suddenly fell into him crying and saying it couldn't be true. Deron sat there shocked for a few moments but he then wrapped his arms around her, feeling her warm body against his.

"I have to save her!" She muttered into his chest. He nodded.

"I'll help you." Lei looked up, shocked. It was an act of treason to assist in plots against the government yet here he was agreeing to help her. She smiled.

"Thank you Deron. For everything."

"Lei in position. Entering sector 3. Target spotted." She spoke into a wristwatch as she watched Miya clean the room. Anakin had been called out on official duty, leaving Miya alone. It was the perfect time to leave.

"G-dude ready. Go time is now." Lei ran into the room and stopped in front of Miya.

"Miya! There's trouble outside, we need to go!" Miya nodded as if not even recognizing that her cousin was standing in front of her. Tey made their way to the docking bay. The Fury was already ready to go along with the Eternity. Lei pulled Miya into the Fury and they quietly exited the bay. Deron followed in the Eternity. Launching into the open air, Miya began to question their mission.

"There's nobody out here! What are you doing?!" She went to flip a switch for help when Lei grabbed her hand and hit a pressure point, knocking Miya out but not before Miya's other hand whiped out with a dagger and grazed her arm causing a farily bad cut. The Fury and the Eternity headed towards the ORB capital for boarding.

"Lei! You're back!" Lei was engulfed in a hug by Lacus. Deron carried Miya on his back.

"What happened to Miya?" Kira asked, looking at his passed out daughter.

"Let's take a seat, shall we?" Lei led them towards a sitting room. She remembered it from when she was little. They sat around a small table where Miya was lying. Deron was dressing Lei's arm while she tried to tell the story. Kira and Lacus were looking down at their daughter. Cagalli and Athrun sat quietly, looking at their own daughter.

"So, she's been brainwashed? How horrible!" Cagalli looked mortified. Lei nodded grimly.

"They use the technique on a lot of people. After they, the higher ups, believe that the person is safe, they can deactivate the brainwashing but not many people know what it is they use to control the person. Even Deron and I don't know what it is." Lei said, sipping a cup of hot apple cider. Deron finished her arm. She leaned back into him.

"Hey! What are you doing?" Deron asked, laughing slightly.

"You get in the way of my couch, then you become my couch." She smiled and elbowed him lightly but he came down and tickled her. She kicked and screamed, laughing the entire time, until Kira cleared his throat. Lei sat up, still leaning on Deron who brought his hands down to pinch her sides but she grabbed them and wrapped them around her.

"Not so tough now, are we? Mr. No arms to use. Ha!" Lei smirked, looking up at Deron. Then she looked to the other adults in the room, laughing nervously. "Sorry, we just haven't been able to be so carefree lately, I guess we got carried away." Cagalli, Lacus, and Kira just laughed while Athrun looked ready to kill Deron. "Anyways, I suggest your medical team do some tests on her. And just so you know, she is Anakin Jule's fiancee, so extra ssecurity might be a good idea." Their eyes went wide.

"Anakin Jule? Son of Izak Jule?" Athrun and Kira's mouths lay open, wide enough for a herd of elephants to waltz in.

Miya stirred, but stopped immediately. Her head fel like it was going to explode. The rest of her body didnt feel too great either. She contemplated calling Anakin to get her some asprin.

"Anakin?" She murmured. When she heard no answer, she opened her eyes. She furrowed her eyebrows at the ceiling. The ceiling she remembered was green, not white.

"Miya? Thank goodness your okay." Who's voice was that?. It wasnt any male she recognised. Or remembered.

"Where am I?" She asked looking down at herself. She had tubes and wired, and sensors connected to every part of her. She sat up quickly, and several gasps sounded throughout the room.

"Miya you need to lay back, and relax." A voice she recognised. She had never been so glad to hear her cousins voice before.

"Wheres Anakin?" Miya said looking around frantically. The only people she saw were Lei, Deron, a doctor, her Uncle, and her Father. Her eyes went wide as they rested on Athrun and Kira.

"Just lay do..." Deron was pushing her back down when she shoved him off.

"What the hell are they doing here?" She screeched. Her father's and Uncle's eyes widened.

"We're at ORB Miya." Lei explained. Before she could get another word out Miya had pushed Deron over and was ripping the IV tubes from her arms and the sensors from her neck and head.

"Why did you bring me here. This is that last place I want to be, and they are the last people I want to see!" She jumped of the bed and ran to the door. Flinging it wide open, she started to dash down the corridor. Before anyone could fully comprehend what was happening, Miya was already halfway down the hall. She looked back as they started running out of the room after her.

"Shit." She muttered to herself as she turned the corner. A strangled cry rang out as Miya pushed past two people. She heard a scream, and more shouts of 'Follow her' but she didnt dare look back. She ran as if her life depended on it.

"Miya." She heard her mother yell. They were closer than she thought. Being a super Coordinator she could run fast, but floor length hospital gowns didn't help matters. As she ran she pulled up the gown, and put her fingernail through it near the knee, and ripped it right down through the hem.

She found her way to the docking bay where she ran straight toward the Stardust. While she was gone, all repairs had been made. The stardust was now good as new. Perfect for the escape she had planned.

"Could they make it any easier?" She asked herself slipping into it. It would be a few minutes before anyone cought up to her, or realized she was there. She Turned on all the controls in the Stardust. 'Enter password' appeared on the screen. She typed in the secret word that allowed her access to the GUNDAM.

"WHAT!?" She shouted. The password had not worked. But how could that be. Noone new it but her.

"The wonder of technology." Her Aunt appeared on the screen infront of her, "I figured you would try this. So to stop you I locked your controls. Even without the password I can stop your GUNDAM from moving."

"Let me go!" Miya screamed frantically trying to make her GuNDAM move.

"I dont think so Miya. We need to figure out how you have been brainwashed, then reverse the effects." Cagalli said "Lock her up."

Miya was wrenched out of the cockpit by two men in black suits. They looked to be secret service agents, or something to that effect. They dragged Miya along Kicking and Screaming.

"LET ME GO YOU BASTARDS. I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL KILL YOU!" She was thrown forcefully into a room with a bed, and another door to a washroom. Locked up again. She stood, and turned furious, to face her family.

"Its for your own good Miya." Kira said.

"Just you wait. Anakin will come and take me back. Just wait an see." Miya yelled

"He's not coming for you Miya." Lei said shutting the door, "He doesn't care."

"YES HE DOES" Miya screamed, "Anakin loves me. So he WILL come and get me. Then he's gunna kick your ass for kidnapping me. YOU'LL BE SORRY YOU EVER DID THIS TO ME!."

It was no use screaming at the closed door. It was not going to open again. Miya crawled to the corner of the room, and hugged her legs to her chest. If only she were stronger, then she could be on her way back to Anakin by now. She pulled the blanket of the bed and wrapped it around herself. She then put her chin in her arms, that rested on her knees.

"How do I get them to trust me? Trust me enough to let me out." She mumbled to herself, "Mabye if I pretend I'm on their side. Then I can escape."

Miya smiled to herself. This was going to be easy. She could be a spy. She could leak information to Anakin, and be the end of the Alliance. Her family would never kknow what hit them.

"This is all my fault! I could've stopped this! If only I'd been watching her more carefully! If only she'd've let me in!" Lei started hitting her head against the wall outside of the door. Everyone else had left already as they were needed here and there but Lei was left alone. She punched it, casuing the wall to break slightly under the pressure.

"Miya...I'm sorry! If I hadn't of left...no...this is good. She's on my side now, right? But how can I be a part of something so wicked? Something that brainwashes people to join them..." She leaned against the cool wall, watching bits of concrete roll to the ground. Sighing, Lei removed herself from the wall and made her way to her room.

"I can remember when I was younger, you were always laughing Miya, always telling me what was right and wrong too, but I forgive you for that." She laughed softly to herself, running her hand over a dusty picture to reveal a much younger Miya and herself. She looked sadly at the picture. Her stomach started to growl.

"I'm gunna go eat now then...hehehe..." She laughed at herself nervously, then put the picture back to go get food.

Alarms? How could that be? Miya stood from her sitting position and attempted to open her door. If there was a fire they couldnt let her burn in there. Could they?

"All pilots please report to the launching bay, all pilots to the launching bay. We have a code Yellow in the east wing. Code yellow in the east wing." That was...Leena's voice.

Miya smiled, "He's come to get me. So my plan wasnt needed after all." She smiled. Standing up, she started bainging against the door. She was locked up in the east wing. She noticed a painting on the wall before the door was slammed in her face. She knew exactly where she was. And she knew if she was making a noise, the rebellion guys would check it out.

The sound of a gunshot was heard agaist the door, and Miya watched as the doorhandle fell off. She was still leaning against the door, so naturally it swung open, spiling her out onto the floor.

"Miss Miya. We have orders to take you back to the ship. Anakin is taking care of buisness right now, and will meet you up there." One of the men said. Miya ignored them.

"Give me one of those guns." She ordered, "I have some buisness to take care of."

She took one of the men's daggers, as another handed her a machine gun. She strpped the knife to her leg, visible because of the slit in her nightgown. and sprinted off down the hall.

"Where are you?" She asked, searching. She finally rushed through the ballroom doors, and out onto the patio (which was the size of a cruise ship) and saw them. Her aunt and Uncle, fighting back to back, against a circle of rebels.

"Found ya." She murmured evilly, "Time to finish what Yzak started." She said lunging towards Athrun and Cagalli Zala, gun in one hand, Knife in the other.

((When you post, stop when I get stabbed in the side ok? I have an Idea for after.))

Before she could get her food the alarms sounded. In the hallway, armed ZAFT members rushed past. Ignoring her hunger, she rushed into the hallway, heading the opposite direction of the others. The rebels were attacking again, obviously searching for Miya. Lei knew Anakin wouldn't give up easily.

Turning the corner she took down one of ZAFT's guards to arm herself. Pulling his gun off of him she continued on her way towards the ballroom. She fired shots as she went, making sure to prevent any rebels from coming into the base but she also shot to protect herself. She had to get to Miya. Lei knew Miya wouldn't waste time attacking the strongest members of ZAFT, Athrun and Cagalli. As much as she wanted her cousin to be a part of the rebels with her, she hadn't wanted it to happen this way.

When her parents had been killed, Lei had wanted her cousin to come with her like they had always done in the past. They had gone everywhere together, never left each others side. Lei had wanted Miya to come with her and together they'd avenge her parents. Miya had refused, leaving a heartbroken Lei. Shattered, broken, until Deron met her. He was able to get her to open up, to live to her full potential. Yet still, she yearned for her cousin to join her but that feeling of loneliness and betrayal slowly developed into hate and Lei would stop at nothing to destroy every living connection she had to ZAFT.

Little did she know that was how the rebels, or rather ZAAWD, had convinced her to join their side of the blossoming war. They influenced her, convinced her that her parents really were dead but now she was starting to think otherwise and that was a dangerous thought. To go against something you've believed most of your life, it was a risky thought pattern but she had no further time to think of it as she bumped into someone.

Looking up, her eyes met Deron's. His worry which was clearly evident in his eyes seemed to ease at the sight of her as his arms instinctively wrapped around her in the attempt to keep her from falling. He immediately pulled away as Lei pushed away. Her face reddened.

"Lei, where are you going? You're still injured! Go back to your room." Lei grit her teeth in anger.

"I need to stop Miya before she does something she'll regret forever." She tried to run past him but he grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

"You can't go. You're in no shape to stop them and who knows what will happen if the rebels catch you!" A kind of tenderness found its way into Lei's eyes.

"Deron, I'll be fine but I need to do this. There's no one else who can." Sighing Deron let her pass but followed closely after her. They made their way quickly out onto the patio where Lei noticed Miya headed towards her suppsoed parents with a dagger. Without a word, she ran as fast as she could.

Grabbing Miya's wrist of the hand which held the dagger, Lei spun her arm down to her side where the dagger embedded itself into Miya's side. An intense sense of fear suddenly came over Lei, causing her to look up only to see Anakin standing there. She squinted her eyes to try to see what he held in his hand, it was like a small remote. Smiling calmly, he placed his finger on the button.

Suddenly, she couldn't see anything around her as her body was overcome with pain, mostly inside her head. It felt like her head was going to implode. Her scream bit through the air, filling every corner of the base, with Miya screaming in similar pain.

"Lei! I thought they took the chip out of you!" Deron was extremely worried.

"What? What's happening?" Cagalli began yelling at Deron. "What have you done to my daughter!?" She turned on Anakin.

As if on cue Miya screamed with her cousin. She had already had a headache when she had gotten out, and this. This just made it unbearable. She fell to the ground, dagger still in her side, holding her head as if trying to keep it attached to the rest of her body. Through the thought of the pain, Miya wanted her mother.

"MOM HELP ME!" Her cry was mixed in with her screams, which only got louder as Aakin once more pressed a button on his little remote. The entire battle had frozen when the girls screaming began. They all stood and watched as they held their heads in pain, flailing desperately as if that were to help it go away.

Then as soon as it had started, the screaming stopped. The two stood, in unison, and looked around the battlefield.

"We don't have time for this girls. We have to go." Anakin spoke rather impatiently at that.

"Lets go Miya. We have an attack to set up." Lei said turning her head to Miya, who in turn nodded, and looked to Deron.

"Coming Deron? Or are you abandoning us?" Miya asked. Not wanting to blow his cover, as Anakin clearly was unaware he was part of Lei's plan, Deron nodded. He walked up to the two, and grabbed them both, like the previous week at the ball. Anakin turned also, and they were gone before anyone could blink.

The fighting started again. The rebels left behind continued fighting as if nothing had happened to stop them.Cagalli and Athrun wanted nothing more then to run off after their daughter and niece, but they were so swarmed by the enemy, they couldn't even if they had tried.

Lacus and Kira heard the screaming too. they were nowhere near, but they heard it. Lacus let out a strangled cry when she heard her daughter calling for her. She had heard that desperate cry once before. She knew there was something wrong.

She took off. the only one who had dared move since the screaming began. As soon as Miya had shouted for her she was gone from Kira's side. Gone to help her only child. To save her precious little girl.

It was late at night. The children had gone to bed hours ago, and the ball continued on for the adults. It was nearing the end, and most were heading out, but not before thanking the Zala's for the invitation. It was their turn to host the annual reunion. All was going well.

Until of course the ballroom doors burst open. Down the staircase ran a young girl they had taken captive earlier in the week. Behind her followed twenty to thirty men. All armed. All ready for the attack.

Things were gruesome. People were hurt, people were fighting and people got killed. The worst of it all was that the children had all been brought in from their beds. Thirteen years old, they all stood watching, frightened. Miya, Lei, Jamal, Yuri, and Leena all watched horrified as one by one, people fell to their deaths.

That was when it happened. Cagalli and Athrun were taken. Swept away in such a commotion people forgot there was a fight going on. They all watched as they were taken from the room, and Lei tried to follow. Lacus ran into the commotion, scooping the girl up as Kira killed the man who had his gun aimed at the Zala. She then proceeded to usher the children out of harms way.

That was the night Lei ran away from home.

This was the same sort of fight, the same commotion, the same hostile take over. the very same thing that had happened so long ago. This time it had been her own daughter who was taken. This time it had been Miya.

A tear escaped Lacus as she arrived on the scene of the patio, only to watch her child taken from her again.

"Are you sure it will work? They locked the controls on me last time!" Miya stated as they reached the launching bay.

"Trust me" Anakin said, climbing into his own GUNDAM.

"Lets just hurry up before they catch up to us." Deron said offhandedly, pulling up comminuications between the four Mobile suits.

"Ready?" Lei asked

"Ready!" Three replies came back to her. The sound of four MS engines started up, and the bay doors stood wide open.

"Firebird Launching." Anakin was out first.

"Fury Launching!" Followed by Lei.

"Eternity Launching!" Deron Tailed her closely.

"......Stardust Launching." Miya hesitated for but a moment, before following Deron. When she reached the open air, she noted that she couldn't find the Twilights signal on the radar anywhere. As if in answer to her question, Anakin quickly connected communications, and sent coordinates for the Twilight.

"Were heading back through the atmosphere. once back on the ship, we go to the Plants, and launch our attack. Zaft wont have a clue whats going to hit them." He stated simply. The three nodded, and shot off for the sky. Most of the way was silent, as they set up their Mobile Suits for the trip.

"Atmosphere reducer on....Gravity pump set to activate in twenty minutes......shields activated.....communications terminated until atmosphere cleared. See you on the other side." Miya said as they neared the earths atmosphere. She shut down her communications after the others bid their temporary farewells.

Pushing forward on her thrusters, she shot herself into the Atmosphere.

Lei felt at home within the Fury. It didn't matter whether she was of ZAFT or the Rebellion when she was encased within the large metal frame. Flying up through the atmosphere, she programmed her screen to view the others outside. They were all keeping up with Anakin who led them towards the Twilight. Deron was almost right behind herself and Miya seemed to have faltered a bit to of fallen a little bit behind by a few seconds.

Her head still ached though she couldn't figure out why. Then she felt a small amount o heat lick up her leg. She shifted uncomfortably. The heat was familiar and it made her slightly dizzy. It was the same heat from when she had plunged down through the atmosphere the first time. Why hadn't she noticed the heat when she'd gone back to the rebels in her Gundam? Or when she had returned, cousin in tow? Now, with th epain in her head and the sickening dizziness this heat produced she began to sway her Gundam slightly.

Deron was following behind Lei when he noticed her Gundam shift side to side. He tried to communicate with her when he remembered they had cut the communications within the atmospheric pressure. He wouldn't be able to talk to her until they reached space. He glanced around, deciding what to do. She obviously couldn't control her Gundam properly though he had no idea why. He reached forward with his Gundam and grabbed onto the Fury to stabilize it.

Lei felt the Eternity grab her as she sighed. She would definetely need to see Danni when she arrived back at the Twilight as she felt another cough attack coming on. Grabbing a bottle of water she kept beside her, she momentarily released her controls to sip from the bottle. Quickly recapping it, she returned to her controls and prepared to deactivate her atmosphere shields.

Anakin was the first out, then Lei and Deron and lastly Miya. Their communications instantly came back on. Anakin's face appeared on all of their screens.

"Head back to the Twilight. We'll discuss matters there." He then disappeared off of Deron and Lei's screens. "Miya, don't worry. Everything will be okay now." He smiled slightly. "After we attack the plants, we can prepare for our wedding. Is that all right with you dear?" Miya nodded. He then disappeared off of her screen.

"Not that you would think otherwise," He said smiling, holding the controller in his hand.

"Lei! What the hell were you thinking!! Never falter during an atmosphere ascent!" Deron's angry face popped up on Lei's screen. "What the hell happened to you out there!" Lei wanted to put her hands to her head to make the pain go away, the pain which Deron was not helping by yelling at her. Instead, she kept her hands on the controls and typed madly.

"Everything is fine. I...just slipped up a little." Her pause only angered Deron more but she chose to ignore him. Running her diagnostics, she found the crack in her atmospheric shields. It was rather small, something only the pilot would notice but it had grown slightly, enough to make her notice the heat.

"Lei! Don't lie to me! Something's going on with you! Why won't you..." He angrily stopped talking before he said something he might regret.

"When I say something I mean it! So back off Deron!" Lei angrily cut off her communication with him and instead opened to Miya.

"Something wrong Lei?" Miya's voice came over the line. Miya was running through her own diagnostics so she didn't look up to talk to her cousin.

"I have a tiny tear in my shields. Apparently our Gundam repairmen aren't doing the best they can." Sighing, she typed in more coding at an incredible speed. Her own cousin mirrored her speed. Their coding was practically impossible for anyone else to understand but it had been like that all their life. They didn't know how they knew the coding, they just did. It was almost like it was the natural thing to do. Even their parents could barely understand. Though, Lei didn't have any parents. She was an orphan.

"Hey Lei?" Miya's voice seemed meek. Lei's head shot up from her controls to look at the screen where Miya's head appeared.

"Yes?" They were almost at the Twilight now. Anakin had rushed off ahead and already boarded whereas the others had stayed behind a bit to run their diagnostics an dmake sure nothing was damaged while they went through the atmosphere.

"...Nevermind." Miya placed her hand to her head, trying to ease the pain as she closed down the communication line.

"Fury boarding." The Fury hovered through the open doorway and onto the tracks which would lead her Gundam to it's proper place in the hanger.

"Eternity boarding." Deron followed directly after her.

"Stardust boarding." Her own gundam landed inside as she opened the cockpit. She could see Deron yelling after Lei who was already out and waiting for Miya.

"Deron." Anakin's voice cut across the hanger. "Don't yell at a high class Gundam pilot." Deron immediately hushed, but he didn't stop glaring at Lei.

Miya walked quickly to join her cousin behind Deron and Anakin. Anakin was obviously discussing war matters with Deron as they walked slightly ahead of the two girls though they didn't mind. Miya and Lei made polite conversation on the way to the conferance room whereas Deron and Anakin had a completely different conversation.

"Deron, I would like you to be my best man at Miya and I's wedding." Deron nodded in agreement though he didn't agree at all. "And I suppose Lei will be Miya's maid of honour. Oh yes, about Lei..." Anakin smiled slightly, placgin his hand on Deron's shoulder.

"I want to help you out my friend. I hear things you know, about the people on the ship, their relationships with those around them. I've heard a few things about you, in fact." Deron didn't know what Anakin was getting at, but he was worried. Did he possibly know about Deron voluntarily leaving wiht Lei? If so, he might expell Deron from the Rebellion and he'd have no chance of saving Lei or Miya.

"About you...and Lei. I have a proposition for you." A blush crept onto Deron's face.

"Ah...no! It's nothing like that!" Anakin just smiled knowingly.

"Of course it isn't. Just in case it comes dow nto that, I'd like you to know that you have options." He motioned to the controller which he had pulled from his pocket. Deron knew what he meant. He could brainwash Lei to like him like Anakin had done to Miya.

"I'll consider it." He lied, through his teeth. He'd never do that to Lei, ever.

"We're here." Anakin turned to the girls who were now behind them and gracefully placed Miya's arm around his own. Lei looked up at Deron with no emotion before continuing into the room. Sighing, Deron walked into the room as well.

"Here is our plan of operations sir. We move in tomorrow night. We have an insider who monitors the guard system. They are weaker at about nine at night when shift changes are being made. Thats when we attack. We will go in through the far east side where the Yamato manor is. From there we can control everything."

"What about the guards there?" Miya spoke up. every head in the room turned to her with surprise, and anger etched into their faces.

"Girl do you doubt our capabilities?" The man who had been telling of the plan now took it in turn to call her out on her comment.

"No I just know my house better then you." Miya said "Trust me a surprise attack on the house just doesn't work. I have a plan though supposing word of my switching sides hasn't gotten back. yet."

"Then by all means if you think you can do better, take the floor." The man said stepping aside jokingly and waving her to come up and take the stand.

"I will." Miya said surprisingly taking up his joke offer, "Now supposing, and counting on the fact my betrayal to my dear parents hasn't yet gotten back to most of Zaft, this should be easy getting in. The guards will notice a strange ship on approach and shut down the bay. I'll open communications with them and demand they let me back in, they will have to. Well wait from there, because it will take till about midnight and then the guard count is half what it is during the day, as they all start to patrol outside the house. We are already inside. Thats when we launch the take over. I am the face of Zaft. Nobody is going to question what I'm doing until its too late."

Everyone stared in amazement, as Miya sat back down, a teeny sweet smile on her face. The man from before had gotten back up, and cleared his throat. He agreed with the plan, went on about a couple other things, and then the meeting was dismissed.

"Jamal where are you going?" Danni asked.

"I just need to talk to Miya about her plan. Theres something i want to know. I'll meet you there?" Jamal smiled as Danni nodded, and left. He himself walked towards the launching bay where the GUNDAMs were stored. He had overheard Miya talking about going there, and figured that would be the best place to check.

Sure enough he found her in full mechanic uniform, standing atop the Fury shouting at someone.

"Obviously you didn't run a check after or you would have noticed there is a crack in the shields! Now tell me, does a crack do anyone any good?"

"N-no ma'am." The frightened engineer replied

"Damn right it doesn't. ESPECIALLY GOING THROUGH THE ATMOSPHERE! YOUR LUCKY YOU DIDN'T KILL HER! Get out of my sight." Miya huffed, and turned her attention back to Lei's GUNDAM.

"Still the same as ever I see?" Jamal said reaching the cockpit where Miya was working.

"What did you expect anything different?" Miya asked defensively.

"Just didn't think you'd be so weak to give in. Thats all. Guess i was wrong. You can't be strong." Jamal said, hoping that would get the reaction her wanted.

"WHAT did you just say. Listen here Elsman I am plenty stronger then you, the only reason you think you're better then me is because you happen to be in the right place at the right time to save me from something i could have handled myself." She had jumped out of the cockpit, and was now right up in his face, "I am stronger then you will ever be, so don't you dare call me weak."

"Is that so? Because the Stronger Miya would never have let herself be brainwashed by this pack of traitors. The strong Miya, the Miya I knew, would never let herself sink so low as to betray her family just like Lei did." Jamal said causing Miya to take a step away from him and shake her head "But apparently the Strong independent Miya I knew is gone, to be replaced by a weakling traitor just like her cousin."

At that Jamal jumped down from the GUNDAM and exited the room. He would be planning his escape soon, and that escape included bringing Miya with him. However it had to be of her own free will, or it would only bring more chaos to the alliance.

Miya sat alone in the cockpit of the Fury. she had long since fixed the flaw in Lei's shields and now she just sat there alone. She was thinking about what Jamal had said to her. There was no way. She wasn't weak for choosing the better side. Or was it even the better side?

"Please come with me Miya? We can get them back for what they did to my parents" Lei pleaded with her cousin in the doorway of her bedroom, "Please Miya"

"NO! I refused to become a traitor, If you join the Rebellion thats what you will be. a Traitor. Then you may never see your parents again..."

"MY PARENTS ARE DEAD! THOSE STUPID NATURALS KILLED THEM or did you forget everything that happened tonight?"

"No I didn't forget! However if you remember my mother saved you from those very supposed naturals who also tried to kill you or did you forget that"

"No i didn't forget! thats why Im leaving because they are trying to kill me and the rebellion can protect me and help me exact my revenge..."

"THEN GO! but I dont want any part of it You hear me?"

"Miya please co..."

"GO!"

Miya stood up and climbed from the cockpit. she stood on the shoulder of her very Traitor cousin's Gundam, and looked out around the Launding bay. She let out a highly frustrated scream, and threw something across the room. It landed near the doors with a soft clink.

Maybe Jamal was right. Maybe she was weak. If she wasnt she would have never gotten involved with her stupid cousin again. She would never be here. She would never have let Deron come within three feet of her at that ball.

No matter her efforts at making them go away, tears spilled from her eyes. She was upset with herself for betraying her family, her friends, her life. And Jamal. And all for what?

Nothing. The Rebellion was going to kill her at first. They hadn't offered her anything worth anything. They hadn't given her anything that could persuade her to join. No they had just brainwashed her. Now she was stuck.

Maybe not.

Jamal!

Lei retired to her bedroom after the meeting. The room was small, containing only a desk, her bed and a small bathroom. It was nothing compared to the room back at her old home. She found herself wishing to be there with her parents, her aunt and uncle and Miya. Back before she had left. She pulled a key from around her neck. Lei had placed the key on a simple silver chain which she always wore. It happened to unlock a secret compartment in her desk which contained a few items. There was a photo, a necklace, and a letter.

Pulling the photo from the drawer, she gazed at the smiling faces of the two girls. The smiles were so unfamiliar to her now, so foreign. It was looking at a picture of two strangers. She placed it on her desk and pulled the necklace out, running the chain through her fingers. Lei held the necklace up to her face, the small pendant shining her reflection back at her.

"I want to go back home." Tears filled her eyes, falling onto the photo. Suddenly her head was overcome with pain. She was countering the brain chip which only caused extreme pain in her head which in turn racked her body. Lei dropped the necklace and slammed into the desk before stepping back and hitting the wall. She moved about like this for a minute before letting out a small scream and fainting near her bed.

Jamal headed back toward his room, running into Deron on the way. Both held a silent frustration within them. Nodding, they continued on their way but not before Deron slipped a note to Jamal. With that, Deron headed off toward his room. Jamal quickly got to his room and unfolded the note. Eyes wide, he read it over again.

Meet me at my room during dinner. I have matters to discuss with you. Don't be followed.

That was all the note said. Jamal laid back on his bed trying to figure out what Deron could possibly want with him and what important matters he wanted to talk about. Perhaps Deron had recognized him as a spy? Or perhaps, Deron was going to black mail him? Jamal nervously burned the note so that it wouldn't be found. He had no reason to trust Deron nor anyone of the Rebellion for that matter but he needed to find out what Deron knew.

Jamal didn't leave his room or let anyone in until he headed toward Deron's room at dinner. Most everyone would be in the dining hall, except for the patrol but they wouldn't be a problem. He made haste toward the other teen's room, ducking past a few of the patrolmen. Knocking three times quietly, the door slid open and Deron's hand reached out, yanking Jamal into the room.

Jamal pushed his hand away as soon as they were both inside. "What do you want, Deron? Why are you calling me here?" Deron hushed him and motioned fir him to sit. Reluctantly, Jamal took a seat at the desk crossing his arms and staring down Deron.

"We need to get Miya and Lei out of here and we need to remove the chips that are controlling them." Jamal listened a little closer. Was Deron testing him? Or was he being serious?

"And...? How do I know that you're not just playing me here, buddy?" He almost spat the last word out. Deron sighed.

"I've known Lei for almost five years. Do you think I can just stand by and let them hurt her over and over? Practically everyday, she's harassed by Anakin and forced to do his bidding. She has had a chip in her head since she was thirteen which allows them to control what she thinks! Anytime she reaches past the chip, they'll reactivate it. She'll never get out on her own." Jamal seriously considered Deron's point. It was obvious that he cared deeply for Lei as his words showed and the emotion in his voice seconded it. But still, Jamal was unsure.

"Do you want Miya to live the rest of her life with Anakin? A sadistic, no regret, evil war lord? He's going to marry her and she'll think nothing of it! If she even considers thinking otherwise, Anakin'll just press that pretty little button and once again he'll control her but not without pain. Every time, he amps up the power of it and every time her body will go through an increasing amount of pain until her body can no longer take it! I've seen people die from that stupid chip!" Deron almost yelled in his anger but he still remained quiet.

"I know you care for Lei nad you want to save her as I want to save Miya but how do I know that you won't turn on me and Miya later on? You have no connection to either of us and Lei hates Miya." Jamal asked, trying to probe Deron's mind to see if he was telling the whole truth. Deron, however, punched the wall in anger.

"She hates her? How can you say that?!"

"How can I not? Lei betrayed her, tried to kill her numerous times, got her captured and brought to the Rebels and now she's brainwashed!"

"She thought her parents were killed. Any kid would want revenge against those that killed her parents! And Lei has been consumed by rage and pain since the moment she arrived here! How do you think it was so easy to convince her to come? And do you know what Lei did when Miya was here? Before she was brainwashed? Lei brought Miya her own portions of food for a week straight, even though she was injured and needed to rest. She went to her everyday, brought her clean clothes and water and anything else she thought Miya might need. So don't tell me that she hates Miya or that she betrayed her!" Jamal was taken aback. He hadn't expected this amount of anger to explode from the boy in front of him. He hadn't even been aware of Lei's actions when Miya had been captured.

"When we were down at ORB, she helped Miya's parents to rescue her but they couldn't overcome the chip! And there isn't a day that goes by where she doesn't regret leaving her cousin." He had calmed slightly as he let his body sink into his bed.

"We need to get the chips out of their heads first. After that, they might willingly come along. I won't take Miya by force, it'll only cause more problems." Deron nodded in agreement.

"I might know a way to remove them...or rather someone who can..." They immediately began to plan their escape until someone came to the door with an impatient knock. Deron stood glancing back at Jamal. Jamal got he picture and hid off to the side. Opening the door, Deron was met with a crying Danni.

"Danni, what's wrong?" He placed his hands gently on her shoulders.

"Lei...Lei..." She said between sobs. He shook her slightly.

"What's happened to her? What's wrong with Lei?" He became frantic.

"It's Lei! She won't wake up!" She began to cry heavily as Deron rushed off toward Lei's room, not stopping to even address a captain. He found her door already open and a few people stood in the room. Kylie was kneeling beside Lei's limp body on the ground. Deron pushed past the people in the room who immediately exited the room, seemingly afraid of Deron's wrath.

"Kylie, what's wrong with her?" Kylie had placed her hands over her face, trying to cover her emotions.

"She's....overextended her brain chip. If she had just been good, they might have removed it...if I hadn't of put it in her head, she'd have been fine." Deron pulled her frail body toward himself in an attempt to comfort her.

"It's not your fault. You know they would never remove it, she's to important to them. If you hadn't of put it in, they would have just found someone else. It's okay Kylie, but is Lei going to be okay?" Deron glanced down at Lei who was still lying unconscious.

"I don't know...I just don't know..." After he calmed her slightly, he had a guard return her to her room. As the door closed he returned to Lei, lifting her up and setting her on her bed. Her body was cold which frightened him but he found her pulse, a wave of relief filled his body. Deron pulled the blankets over her and knelt next to her bed, silently, anxiously waiting for her to wake up.

Dinner was an interesting event. the very first thing Miya noticed was that three people never showed up. She herself wasn't there for long, excusing because she "didn't feel well". In all honesty she wanted to talk to the non existent Jamal. If she could find him.

"Too soon Anakin."

"Well the others worked this fast."

"Well the others weren't this hardheaded. And you remember those who didn't?"

"So what do you want me to...."

"I think its clear you have to turn the damned thing back on or that pink haired little witch..."

"Thats my bride you're insul...."

"I don't care because your bride is beginning to think twice about why she is here. So either you do something about it, or I'll kill her like we originally planned. Got it squirt?"

"Yes I do Mameha!" Anakin shouted slamming his fist down on the table. Mameha only smiled at her little brother's anger. She leaned back in her chair raising her eyebrows at him.

"Turn it back on."

Miya was rushing through the halls, the best anyone could rush with no gravity. She was trying to find Jamal, as he had not been in the cafeteria for dinner. She had to get out of here, and he was her only chance. However as she turned a corner, she fell to the ground clutching her head.

"Miss Miya are you alright?" A guard had noticed her collapse and rushed to her aid. Overwhelmed by pain, Miya said nothing, and made no sound for a moment. When asked again if she was alright, she opened her mouth to respond, and an earsplitting scream of pain escaped her.

The guard covered his ears and backed away with the initial shock of the scream. After a second or two he whipped his communicator from his belt.

"I need Kylie to sector C quickly." He shouted. He heard something being said back, but it was drowned out by the screams so it sounded like nothing more then incoherent mumbling.

"Thats better.....I thought you were loosing your touch squirt." Mameha smiled as Miya's screams rang throughout the halls, "That dear brother is music to my ears."

"Don't get used to it. She'll break soon." Anakin replied, anger in his voice. It was hard to tell exactly what he was angry about, but the emotion was apparent. Mameha just laughed at the weakness he was showing. He was becoming too attached to the Yamato girl.

"Whatever" Mameha replied. She stood and left the room, to go back to her own room. She smiled even more as Miya's screams continued throughout the halls. It was soothing to hear her cries of pain.

Jamal almost jumped out of his skin, when the scream erupted. It sounded close by, and painful to boot. He saw a couple guards run by, and he decided better then to check it out. Instead he haded on his way back to his room.

"Out of the way Jamal!" A shout came from ahead, and Kylie pushed past him in a rush.

"Turn the gravity pump on!" He heard a shout near where the screams were coming from, and seconds later he felt his weight being pulled toward the ground. as opposed to moving again, Jamal just stood there. The scremas were now filling his head, and making it hurt a little.

"Jamal!!!" That was Danni's voice. He looked behind him , and saw the redhead rush up to him. Or more like past him? Now he was worried. The entire ship had gone into a panic, and Danni? Where was she headed?

"Danni whats going on?" He asked, quickly catching up to the sprinting girl.

"Its Miya, somethings wrong withthe chip in her brain its working in overdrive, and if its not stopped it could kill her. Not that I care, but If I don't tell Anakin....well my own life could be on the line her e" He let her get away, as he slowed his pace. He made a quick turn and headed toward where the screaming was coming from.

"Miya please be okay...." He said. As if confirming his worst nightmares, the screaming stopped as he rounded the last corner. looking at the scene, his arrival could not have been at a more awkward time. Miya was laying on the ground, not even awake, Three or four guards were kneeling around her, covering their ears, and Kylie was standing over her, breathing heavily, holding a knight stick in one hand. It was still held high, as if she were to hit someone with it right then and there

"I....I had to knock her out.....She just....I cant......I...I" The stick dropped from her hand, and she herself collapsed, crying.

Jamal rushed forward, and pulled Miya's unconcious body toward himself. He rested her head in his lap, as he knelt, examining her. Kylie's blow had fortunately not harmed her, just knocked her out.

"Is she going to be okay?" He asked. Kilye just sat there shaking her head, as if to say she didn't know. And she didn't.

"Miya....." He murmured, looking down at her. She looked peaceful, laying there. Jamal almost smiled, until he thought of why she was laying there like this. That stupid chip in her head. That stupid Anakin guy was the reason for all this.

"Come on Kylie. You should rest. I'll take you back to your room." He left Miya to the care of another doctor who had just shown up, and pulled Kylie to her feet. The two left, and Jamal headed not to her room but his own.

"I need your help" He said, when he was sure no one was around, "I need you to remove the chips from Miya and Lei's heads."

Deron could hear the screaming from the hall and he poked his outside the door, immediately recognizing the scream as being similar to Lei's. It had to be Miya. Something was going wrong. He needed to talk to Jamal and he needed to do it now. Deron pulled his wristband, which he wore constantly, from his wrist and placed it on Lei's small wrist. If she woke up while he was gone, she'd know that he had been there.

Kylie backed slightly, placing a hand over her eyes. She knew she didn't want Lei and Miya to suffer anymore but going against the only life she had known was a scary thought. The world was so uncertain and if she left, the Rebellion would definitely hunt her down and annihilate her. She knew too much about what actually happened in the hell hole that was the Rebels' ship. Just as she considered answering, the door flew open.

"Jamal! Kylie?" It happened to be Deron, his face flushed from the energy he had exerted in his speedy trip to Jamal's room.

"Deron...how's Lei doing?" Deron shook his head sadly, noticing the tears in Kylie's eyes.

"Sit down for a moment. You've been through a lot." Kylie sat on Jamal's bed but Jamal didn't argue. He merely stood, leaning against the wall, wondering what Deron's next step would be but he wasn't going to stay silent forever.

"Kylie...Lei...Miya...something is going horribly wrong. The chips are overreacting. It's racking their bodies...I don't know how much longer they'll last..." His demeanor cracked. All the events, he had finally had enough. Deron could no longer stand aside while Lei got hurt over and over again.

"I thought she'd be fine after the first operation, she'd be able to live happily with the Rebels. I thought I'd protect her by not telling her that Cagalli and Athrun were alive and she trusted me. I thought this was the right way but in the end it only hurt her more. Now she unconscious and I don't even know if she'll ever wake up. I've tried to be strong, making it up to her by following her everywhere, trying to protect her from danger like an older brother. But that wasn't enough. I needed to be closer to her. I was so selfish. I even considered Anakin's offer, if only for a second. I almost traded her free will for my personal gain." He hid his face, a tear slipping down his cheek. "I don't know how much longer I can continue on like this..." His voice cracked.

Kylie had even more tears in her eyes after Deron's confession. Her own friends were getting hurt, and she had been the root of it.

"You're not the only one who tricked her. Once the brain chip was installed, I made her help me code them to be more powerful, so that the power level could be increased by overriding the commands. And when I convinced you that the chip was getting removed, I lied. We actually inserted the more powerful chip that she herself had helped develop. I even placed the same chip within Miya and programmed Anakin's remote to control the chips. He even has the code to increase the level of the chips." Jamal sat back, listening to their stories, fully realizing just what exactly Lei had gone through upon arriving on the Twilight. He felt a twinge of pity until he thought of Miya.

"It's all my fault. If I had never knocked her through the damn atmosphere, her and Miya would have never met up again! Miya would have gone on fine without being captured and brainwashed!" He punched the wall angrily. Sighing, he closed his eyes tightly, trying to sort out his thoughts. "No matter, we're here now and we can't change the past, but we can change the future." Kylie looked up at him, small smile on her lips until she considered what she would have to do. Shaking her head, she looked to the floor.

"Kylie, I know it's a scary thought but we need you to try, for Lei and Miya's sake." Jamal spoke up, kneeling down to look her straight in the eye. "And we'll be here for you too. I know Miya and especially Lei would thank you."

"No!" Kylie yelled, standing and backing away toward the door. "If I help them, I'll be a traitor, they'll try to kill me! And Lei would never forgive me! Ever! I can't have that happen! The Rebellion, my patients, Lei, they're all I have! I can't risk losing them!"

"Kylie...please..." Jamal tried but Kylie covered her ears with her hands yelling. She then ran from the room, crushing Deron and Jamal's hopes of ever saving Miya and Lei.

Kylie refused to leave her room was she arrived as she gazed around the large room. She had gotten one of the biggest as a reward for her work on the brain chips. But what good did it do her? No, she couldn't think that way. The Rebellion had saved her, they cared for her. It was more than the plants ever did. Lei had always said that, but maybe it had been the chip talking. What would Lei have said if the chip were deactivated?

She ripped the awards off the wall and threw them across the room, listening to the frames shatter and fall to the ground. These awards, they stood for nothing except pain and death, sorrow and despair. Screaming, Kylie entered the small lab attached to her room and began throwing things to the ground in frustration and confusion. Which side should she believe? Which should she follow?

Should she follow the life she always knew? Or should she risk her life and help her friends? Smashing a glass bottle the the ground, she accidentally scraped her hand on a stray shard. Kylie glanced at it.

Letting out a yelp, Kylie took a moment to glance down at the cut on her hand. She only had a moment as Lei was there in a moment from her computer in the other room where she had been programming something.

"Kylie! You need to be more careful. Here, gimme your hand." Cautiously and a little childlike, she held out her arm to Lei who tenderly wrapped a bandage around the injured hand. Kylie, who had initially refused to look at the cut, turned her eyes to notice Lei smiling up at her. She had already finished wrapping her hand tightly.

"There you go! You're alright now. The pain should subside soon." Kylie held her hand to her chest.

"T..thank you..."

"What are friends for?"

She knew what she had to do. She began packing a small bag of the supplies she'd need for the trip.

Deron left the room after cleaning up slightly and headed back to Lei's room to check up on her. Upon entering her room, he noticed that there was a necklace on the floor along with a picture of two young girls. He glanced at the open drawer and placed the two items back inside before sitting beside the bed on the floor. He propped himself up against the wall and slowly began to drift off to sleep.

Jamal sat on his bed after the two had left. Depressedly, he ran his hand through his hair. He wasn't even frustrated anymore, only disappointed in himself. Disappointed that he couldn't protect Miya like he had always promised and as he had always done. Leaning back on his bed, he tried to think of what might have been different if he had never pushed Lei into the atmosphere, if he had only been able to protect Miya better. He eventually drifted into a fitful sleep.

The ship was busy. Too busy. It was a Saturday morning for Christs sake! Must eveyone go rushing loudly past her door? Danni rolled over in her bed, and got out, determined to put an end to the racket that was being made.

"ALL OF YOU SHUT U..." She started to yell, but it was cut off when someone else rushed by her. She ran out of the room, still clad in her nightgown, her hair messed from her nights sleep. She caught up to him and voiced her complaints.

"What the hell is going on?!" She asked rather harshly.

"We've arrived at Zaft. They let us in, but were having a little bit of trouble disembarking. Seems they don't take kindly to us bringing in their little princess unconcious." Danni split off from him at the next corner, detouring to Jamal's room. She wasted no time banging down his door

"WHAT!" Jamal was angry when he opened the door. Danni almost told him to forget it, when she remembered exactly why she was there.

"Were at Zaft already. But they wont let us off the ship. The plan is backfiring big time because Miya is unconcious!" She dais, watching as Jamal's eyes widened. She was concerned by his initial reaction. There was something more there then the shock of already being at the Plants. There was something he was hiding. And Danni hated secrets.

"O...Okay thank you Danni." Jamal said. He then tried to shut the door, as he himself needed to get ready. Danni would have none of that however. She stuck her foot in the door, and pushed it back open, causing Jamal to stumble, giving her the opportunity to slip inside.

"Danni what the hell?" Jamal stared surprised at the sudden violence of the pajama clad redhead. Danni however just glared at Jamal, which made him raise an eyebrow.

"You're hiding something Jamal." She said quietly, sorrow in the tone she used, "You're my friend, and if theres something i should know....something you're not telling me......I want to know."

"Later....I promise." Jamal spoke after a long moment of eye contact, "Right now we have to deal with the situation outside."

Danni nodded and left, content with the knowledge of Jamal's promise. Jamal however, dressed quickly and took off in the other direction toward Deron's room. The fact that they were already at the Plants was bad enough, but it ruined the two guys entire plan of operation. And it ruined their chances of saving the girls.

Deron was already awake in his room, preparing himself for the sudden events when Jamal came barrelling in. He looked up at his accomplice, knowing full well that their plan wasn't going well. Sighing, he sat down on his bed, rubbing his face.

"Our plan isn't going to work anymore, Jamal. We need a new one." He said it with a blank expression which unnerved Jamal.

"I know that!" Jamal responded angrily. "It'd be so much easier if they were both conscious!" Angrily he leaned against the wall. They sat in silence for a short while before Kylie burst into the room. The two boys looked up at her, shocked to see her there.

"Kylie-" She placed her hand in front of her to stop Deron from talking.

"I've decided to help them. I thought it over and who is allowed to say that my life is worth more than theirs? I need to do this. And I can save them." Kylie spoke, her voice full of determination and uncertainty at the same time.

"We appreciate it." Jamal spoke out, moving to take a seat at the desk. "The only problem is, our plan to get out of here backfired with the two of them being unconscious." Kylie just nodded along as Deron explained their previous plan. When he had finished, Kylie smiled slightly.

"I think I might know how we can get out..." And with that the three of them began planning the final chance they'd have to escape.

It was dark as she opened her eyes. Slowly, lights began to shine around her and she realized she was in her Gundam. Grasping her controls, she began to move the Gundam around yet it all seemed so unfamiliar. She couldn't get it to move the way she wanted it to. And then suddenly, someone was shooting at her. She could see them right in front of her but she couldn't fight back. The enemy Gundam hit her three times with a beam rifle before her Gundam's vitals were shot. Looking down at the diagnostics, she noticed that the Gundam would be unable to operate without being fixed. Another shot caused one of her controls to explode, a piece flying to hit her in the forehead. She could feel the blood slide down her face and slightly over her eye.

She sat floating in space, trying to figure out how to fix her Gundam. In front of her, her comrades went ahead toward the enemy only to be shot and destroyed. Tears filled her eyes as she watched them die, unable to do anything Then, she suddenly felt something click inside of her and everything began to make sense and at an alarming rate.

Lei awoke in her room but it was unrecognizable to her. She rose without difficulty and quickly made it out of the room. The sound around her was quiet, she couldn't hear what anyone was saying nor could she really see them. Lei only knew that she had to get to her Gundam and that she needed Miya there too. She couldn't stay here any longer. People who appeared as blurs to her moved out of her way, slightly in fear as she passed through the halls.

Danni was heading back from the deck through the halls when she encountered Lei. Excitedly, she rushed over to her friend.

"Lei! Lei! Lei-" She stopped, looking into Lei's eyes. They were blank. Danni tried to shake her but Lei immediately grabbed Danni's wrists and pushed her into the adjacent wall, knocking the wind out of the poor girl. She stayed on the ground, wiping away the blood that leaked from her mouth.

Jamal was the first to hear the commotion outside and he quickly interrupted the others. Deron and Kylie stopped midplanning, listening quietly. When they heard someone hit the wall they rushed into the hallway to see Danni breathing heavily against the wall.

"Danni! What happened?" Kylie bent down to ask the girl as she looked over her. Deron, however, was glancing down the hallway, just catching a glance of Lei turning a corner. He immediately rushed off after her.

"It's Lei...something's.....we...weird..." Danni spoke through her heavy breathing. Jamal's eyes opened wide and he immediately raced after Deron. Lei was part of their escape plan and they needed her to be on their side and not act suspicious but this was definitely drawing unnecessary attention.

Lei reached the room Miya happened to be staying in. She opened the door and walked in, punching the medical attendant unconscious. The young Zala then lifted her cousin from the bed, carrying her bridal style, before leaving the room and heading toward the hanger. The next step was to get out into space and far away from the base ship. She didn't want to hurt anyone aboard.

The hanger had the usual amount of people in it as any other day. Not realizing that there was an emergency going on, they paid no mind to Lei as she entered the hanger and walked toward her Gundam. They did begin to question their arrival when they heard shouting from the halls. Lei quickly holstered Miya onto the rope before it carried her up into the Fury. Lei herself would not be able to hang onto the cable and carry Miya at the same time so it made sense this way. A secondary cable launched itself down toward her and just as her hand was about to reach out and grab it. Deron appeared.

"Lei! What are you doing?" His voice caused her to pause for a moment, something deep within her finding the need to answer him.

"I'm going to finish this."

"Finish what?"

"This war. I'm going to save us all." Deron's eyes went wide as Lei's hand twirled around the cord. He instantly reached out to touch her but she shoved him out of the way with a great force of which he'd never experienced from her. "Get in your Gundam, Deron." She held such ferocity in her voice that he didn't dare refuse her demand. Gritting his teeth, he walked toward his own Gundam and ascended into the cockpit. Lei did the same, positioning the unconscious Miya behind her before closing the cockpit.

Accessing the hanger control centre was easy for Lei as she began to prepare for launch. She opened her communications with Deron, his face appearing just beside her own screen.

"Lei, what're yo-" He was cut off as the command centre opened voice communications with him.

"Deron! What's going on!" It was the captain's voice. Deron had no time to answer before Lei looked at him through the screen.

"Close any communications with the ship." He refused but her coding instantly deactivated it as soon as he was unwilling to follow her demand. "Launch now." Unwillingly, his Gundam moved forward and headed toward the hanger gates toward the launching bay.

"Eternity launching." He heard her voice fill his cockpit before his Gundam was thrust out into space. The Fury followed shortly after. He watched the Fury fly off away from the ship moments before he followed them. He wasn't sure what was happening but he didn't want Lei to go off into space on her own, especially with the odd things that were happening to her.

Unbeknownst to Deron and Lei, a few other Gundams had been launched. Jamal had launched himself ans Kylie out into space after the other two. Anakin, the injured Danni, and Mameha had also followed suit.

Lei stopped far away from the ship and turned the Fury to face the Eternity. Her eyes looked up to meet Deron's over the screen.

"Now shoot." Deron laughed slightly, thinking she was kidding. She knew he had the best aim and if he shot at her, he'd kill her.

"I said shoot me." Deron stopped laughing and stared at her, the shock evident in his eyes. He looked down at his hands which were placed firmly on his controls.

"I SAID SHOOT ME!" He looked up to see tears falling from Lei's eyes. He was surprised. He had never really seen her cry, at least not like this anyways. He could see no emotion in her eyes, he thought but looking closer, her could see the desperation hidden away.

"I'm not going to shoot you!"

"Why? It would end everything!" Deron watched Lei as she reacted.

"I'm not going to kill you!" The anger in his voice rose as he tried to hold back the fear and uncertainty he felt.

"But then everything would end! There would be no point to this war because all the super coordinators will have been killed!" Miya and Lei had been two of the very few super coordinators who had lived past the age of five. Because of that, there was always controversy surrounding them. Their existence had been one of the main starters of the current war. And that was part of the reason Lei had decided on this course of action.

"There would be no problem with brain chips or parents who might still be alive. And you wouldn't have to worry about protecting the stupid little Zala child!" She screamed it out, her hands tightly grasping the controls. Deron was taken aback by her outburst. He'd never known about her uncertainties. He'd never asked her but now he was getting them thrown at his face while she was asking him to kill her and Miya.

"I won't kill you!" He yelled back at her. The determination began to show more in her eyes. Her next response though, hit him the hardest.

"If you won't, then I will." The tears were still pouring down her face as he hear the rapid typing from her end. Suddenly the arm of the Eternity rose, beam rifle in hand. Deron tried to stop his Gundam but his own controls had been disabled.

"Damn! Lei! Why are you doing this? I don't want to hurt you!" He sat in his seat, pounding his controls in an attempt to stop the oncoming shot. Deron had tears pouring down his own face as the girl he loved was forcing him to kill her.

"Lei! Please! Don't! I lo-"

"STOP IT!" Miya's scream rang out, as she reached forward and took control of the GUNDAM. It immediately lurched out of the way of the beam. The super charged beam instead hit the wall of the plants, opening a huge hole. Miya looked around wide eyed at what had just happened. That moment she let down her guard, Lei began to fight her for the control.

As everything was being sucked out of the plants and into the vast nothingness of outer space, Miya and Lei were having their own battle inside the GUNDAM, which had long since been pulled from the artificial world.

"I Have to end it" Lei shouted desperately at her cousin, pushing her aside. Miya stumbled back, hitting her head against the wall of the cockpit. That did not deter her, however, and she continued to shove at Lei until she too had begun to bleed slightly through her hair. Lei just pushed back, scratching at Miya's face this time. Miya swung back with a slight punch to Lei's nose, that made that feature too start trickling blood. Lei retaliated, by punching M the jaw, causing the younger girl to bit at, and split her lip.

"LEI!" Miya screamed yet again, and grabbed hold of Lei's wrist. She pushed her cousin to the floor of the cockpit, and there she stayed much to Miya's surprise. She seemed to be newly fascinated with the wrist that had just been closed into Miya's hand. Miya however ignored the girl then, as there were more important things to worry about.

"Anakin? Lei's gone mad. Theres something wrong with her I wan't Kylie to look at her when we get back to the ship." She opened communications with Anakin and Mameha,

"Of course. Are you alright though?" Anakin's voice trailed through the cockpit. She did not open the video feed with him, as not to worry him tith her appearance. She was focused on the keyboards, trying to reset the coding on the Eternity so that Deron may continue to use his mobile suit.

"I'm fine. Just a scratch. But we really do....SHIT!" Something had gone terribly wrong with her coding. She had been distracted by her conversation with Anakin, and somehow, some way, she had fired another beam from Deron's GUNDAM. She looked up, terrified at the beam that was now headed right for them. How could she have made such a stupid mistake? Now she and Lei were really going to die.

The beam collided and exploded the arm and leg off the GUNDAM. Miya looked on, terrified, that it had happened. When the smoke and flying bits of debris cleared, she saw it was not moving. Tears filled her eyes, and she opened communications with the Whisper.

"Jamal? Jamal? Can you hear me? Jamal are you okay? JAMAL!" She started shouting frantically at him, but received no response, "JAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!!!!"

The sound of that last scream, was desperate, and terrified. In an instant everything seemed to come back to her. She was upset to a point she had never been before. She was distressed at the loss of Jamal, but.... why?

"Miya?" Anakin's face came up on her screen this time, and she didn't even try to stop it, "Miya are you okay?"

Miya was staring wide eyed, at the scene before her. She was shaking violently, and her breathing was shallow, and strobe like. She opened and closed her mouth repeatedly, trying desperately to find words. She didn't care what or how she said something, she just needed to speak. But the words did not come. Only tears.

And then she began to type on her keyboards. Her eyes went blank, though tears still streamed from them, She tuned out everyone and everything, and just typed away. Her speed was unmatchable, and her coding was far too advanced for her to even be able to understand. But somehow she did. Within an instant, Deron was able to control his GUNDAM again. A series of coding repairs were being made on the Fury, and the Whisper's vital signs were flashing up upon the screen. The communications like with Mameha and Anakin was immediately severed, and a new line came up. It seemed to be feeding from the Whisper.

"Saved your ass Yamato." It was a strained, and painful voice. Worst of all it belonged to Jamal.

"Stop Elsman, Now!" She said blankly, though she still continued to cry, "You are going to hurt yourself more you are in no condition to do anyt...."

"No. Don't you remember our promise?" He said through gritted teeth, as he took to his control panel. His eye looked up for a moment to meet with her own, "I'll never Abandon you."

Miya just stared. She did not know what to say to that. She remembered very well the promise they had made to each other so many years ago. It was the day after Lei had left.

"Hey Jamal?" Miya said. They had been sitting out on the lawn for an hour or two, and had barely said a thing the whole time.

"Hmmm?" Jamal answered lazily. She felt his head move, as it was placed to the left side of her own. His body had faced the other way however, so they would not hurt each other, but still be close enough to talk if needed.

"Would you ever run away...Like Lei?" The question was so straightforward, Jamal didn't know what to say for a moment. He had clearly been falling asleep in the grass right then. The answer was a no brainer. Of course not. But it seemed too simple an answer to give her. Too straightforward. If he had answered that her mind would still be full of doubt, and uncertainty. And he didn't want his best friend to suffer like that.

"What Lei did is unforgivable." He said calmly, "And I am one who likes to be forgiven for his mistakes. I would never sink so low as to join the opposing side to this war."

"Then promise me."

"What? Jamal looked over at the girl, stunned. She usually would have been insulting him by now, or trying to beat him up. But this time, she had too much on her mind to even try to disagree with anything he said. And he didn't want to argue with her. She was already in such pain about Lei.

"Lets make a promise, to never ever, no matter what, turn our backs and abandon one another. Never." A single tear fell from her eye and down to her ear as she said this. she rolled herself over in the grass so that she was facing Jamal.

"I promise I will never Abandon you Miya. And I'll always protect you too." Jamal said, reaching over to wipe the tear that had escaped her.

"And I'll never Abandon you." Miya said to Jamal, repeating the very same line she had said all that time ago. She saw a small smile on Jamal's lips, and she too began to smile.

Then an overwhelming pain took over her. She screamed out in agony holding her head once more. It was the same as when they were back at ORB. And the day beforehand on the ship.

"MIYA!" Jamal spoke before his communications were cut off. Anakin merely smiled from his own GUNDAM.

Lei stayed on the ground, looking at her wrist. Aside from the bruises beginning to form, there was a very familiar wristband. Her eyes opened wide at the realization. It was Deron's wristband, one which he almost never took off. Lei was suddenly very aware of what she was doing and of what was going on. She ignored Miya's screams, pushing her out of the chair. She knew who was doing this and she was going to stop them both. She opened communications with Jamal, Kylie and Deron. They gave her odd looks, as if she were still bent on destroying both her and Miya. The screams continued behind her.

"I'm going to take control of your gundams for a short while. I don't have much time to explain." She typed rapidly as she spoke. Slowly the others lost control of their gundams.

"This should only take a moment. I will leave movement controls open for you but I will control your weapons and communications as well as most of the other systems within your gundams. The target is..." Suddenly a new screen came up in their gundams, showing a target lock on Mameha and Anakin.

"Mameha and Anakin. I want you to take every chance you can to shoot them down but not to kill them. We need that controller that Anakin has. If we don't get it soon, Miya will die. Kylie, is there any way to temporarily disable his remote?" Lei was still typing, her eyes moving a mile aminute as she scanned over her coding. She couldn't yet disable Anakin and Mameha because they would then prepare for the attack. She knew full well that Mameha was very clever and most likely capable of bringing back a few of her own systems, afterall, she had observed Lei's tactics for quite some time.

"Jamal, I know you don't trust me but I had my own reasons for joining the rebels. Please remember that. Right now however, he rebels are targetting people I care about and that should never be tolerated. I must save you, Danni, Kylie, Deron, but most of all, Miya. I will do whatever it takes." Her head was pounding as Anakin was trying to activate the brainchip. Lei wasn't sure how but for some reason she wasn't screaming in agony like Miya and as far as she knew, it was the same control for the both of them. Whatever was going on, she knew she had to act soon.

Lei stopped her coding for a moment.

"Thank you Deron."

"Lei, what's going on?" Deron asked, his face a mixture of emotions.

"Lucky, right?" She lifted her hand up to show his wristband. Lei smiled slightly.

"Lei..."

"Don't worry Deron. But just so you know, you're gonna owe me big time for this. And you're going to have to do a lot to make up for your sorry ass look right now." He smiled lightly, a small chuckle coming from him.

"I'll do whatever you want for a week."

"Oh, that's not going to fly. It'll be at least a month!" He shook his head.

"No way. I take bakc my previous offer."

"Fine. Then you'll have to do one thing I ask you to do, no matter what it is and I get to choose what that wish is." He nodded in agreement and she smiled, turning back to her coding.

"All right, there is a small electric disturbance that we can use to disable his remote momentarily but it won't last long. And...we'll only have one chance to use it." Lei nodded.

"Deron, I want you to move the Fury towards Anakin's with your gun pointed at Jamal and Kylie. It's very important that you open communications with Anakin and pretend you're bringing us back to him and Mameha. You must keep up the illusion that you're still on his side. Jamal and Kylie, you must stay there as if you're caught and you can't move or you'll be shot. Once we get in close enough, you need to charge toward Anakin. As soon as he moves to shoot you, get out of the way. Deron, you go chase Jamal. I'll give you more instructions once we get to that point. Until then I'm going to close down communications between the three of us and open Deron's with Anakin, audio only. Got it?" The screens in front of Lei closed down as here was a resounding nod of approval.

And then, the plan began. The communications opened.

"Deron! What's going on?" Anakin's angry voice came over the audio feed.

"Lei took control of the Fury and disabled my gundam. Miya was able to reverse it for a short while but Lei took control again. I was only barely able to bring my communications back online. Lei has currently passed out from the pain of the overextended brain chip. I'm bringing them both back to you."

"And the traitor, Jamal?"

"Lei had disabled most of his controls earlier. I don't think he is much of a threat anymore." Anakin smiled, Mameha standing behind him. Deron moved in close with the Fury, his nerves growing but his face did not falter. His beam rifle was aimed at Jamal just like they had planned.

Jamal waited in his Gundam for the right moment, and then it came. He ruhed forward, beam sword aimed for Anakin. Anakin moved, as predicted towards Jamal but Deron moved first. He took off to challenge Jamal just as they planned. They battled as best they could without actually injuring eachother as they waited for more directions but none came.

Mameha watched the scene with a suspicious look. Something wasn't right. It all seemed to go too perfectly. She suddenly shoved Anakin from the pilot's seat and took the controls. She aimed the beam rifle at the Fury. Both Jamal and Deron stopped, watching in horror as their plan fell to pieces. But it hadn't yet. Lei hadn't given them anymore directions but that didn't mean she didn't have any for herself. The Fury suddenly moved back as Mameha fired. The blast grazed the side of the Fury, rattling the pilots inside. Deron and Jamal moved closer but their systems were suddenly taken over fully. They could no longer move their own Gundams.

Lei began coding madly, trying to figure out what to do. She had expected something different but she didn't know Mameha was controllign the Gundam. She had never seen Mameha pilot a gundam before. And aside from that, the beam rifle had gotten more powerful since Anakin had last used it. Lei took a few more hits as she searched through the codes.

And then she found it. "Miya, you're a genius." A determined smile crossed her face.

"Stay put and watch." She spoke to the boys as she opened communications momentarily with them. Lei dodged a few more shots until Mameha had her cornered. Mameha aimed the beam rifle straight at the cockpit.

"I will erase your weakness little brother." Mameha smiled but it was an arrogant one. Suddenly, the remote stopped working. Miya's screams stopped as Lei activated the electric interference. Mameha fired as Lei whipped out a beam rifle and shot back. The shots met in the middle but Lei's started pushing it back at Mameha. Within an instant, the Gundam was demobilized. The Fury's hand ripped into the cockpit and pulled the controller from Anakin's hands. She aimed the rifle with the other hand and shot straight for the cockpit. Danni's Gundam suddenly pulled Anakin and Mameha back toward the ship.

Without a second thought, Lei controlled the Gundams towards the earth's atmosphere. Suddenly, they all gained full control of their Gundams again.
