The Twilight Phenomenon; No pre-planning, just see where it goes

(((This is half-realistic and half-AU. Changed names, made up characters, etc. Have fun!)))

I set down my copy of Twilight and sighed. Why, goddammit did some smart-Alec upstart have to write about their own story? Yes, they changed their names. Yes, they made people disbelieve their very existence with the book. But then there were the droves of young people who desperately thought they were real.

I picked up the book again and changed my mind. I set it back down and looked to the computer. There was Stephanie Meyer's website and I laughed to herself. Obviously, Stephanie Meyer was not the writer. She had taken the story from a real Vampire and embellished on it as much as she wanted. The Volturi were not real. That was something based off of the Minhou, the Japanese version. And older, more intelligent culture, and much more frightening than any other group could hope to be.

I used my fingers to brush my long wavy blond hair out of my face, my butterscotch eyes flickering to the mirror. They at least had the eye colour and supreme beauty right. As well.

I threw on my black shorts and blue tank top that showed off my body beautifully. I was definitely going to be late for filming, I thought as I grabbed my copy of the script. As an afterthought, I grabbed her copy of 'Twilight' as well and made my way for the garage. I was in my yellow corvette within moments, cursing the speed limits within the city as I drove.

I made it onto set the same time as the other actors. They tended to all arrive at the same time, and I smiled at them. They smiled back, most of them perfect as I was, the same vampiric tendencies. Some of them were humans, certainly, but everyone playing a vampire within the movie was, in fact, a vampire. Might have had something to do with Stephanie Meyer's say on casting, might have to do with 'Edward Cullen''s say in her ear from sightly off-set. He could see through her eyes, he could make 'Reneesme' tell her. It didn't matter, but it was hilarious.

I jumped out of my car, the keys flying into her pocket. I met the other vamps, the ones playing Alice and Jasper were in fact a very cute couple, holding hands and giggling like school children. Edward and Emmett were laughing at some joke, Carlisle and Esme were older, more mature, but totally aware of each other only. Emmett, or James, which was his real name, came up to me and smiled. I felt my insides melt, as if he was the sun at the break of dawn, reaching down to hold and support me after the cold of night.

I smiled back, and we all turned to make our way to the make-up trailer. They didn't have much to do to us, the humans had already been there for a couple of hours.

"Which scene are we doing today?" James asked me, even though I knew he already knew. We did have to keep up appearances, though.

"Bella's first visit to the Cullen house. I drop the salad." I smiled as the girl with the make-up brushes approached me. She looked me over and hesitated with the brush. I waited, and then closed my eyes. A couple of brush strokes later, and she sighed. Obviously enraptured with my beauty.

I cleared my throat. It was a delicate sound, made by lots and lots of practice. The make-up girl looked at me and I half-smiled.

"I remembered someone saying something about high-UV blocking concealer? Stephanie Meyer mentioned it to me..." I smiled again. This was the painstaking ritual we all went through every morning. At least there was something that would cover the diamond sparkle of our skin, but it was painfully diminishing to our beauty. Make-up artists bemoaned having to put it on us, but 'luckily' there was a 'doctor' on set who was adamant that we needed the higher UV protection.

I smiled at the girl as she finished and then went for the costume change. I was into my outfit - I loved the strapped sandals in silver. They were perfect! and made my way to the set. It was a gorgeous house, and I loved it. I smiled at James, my Emmett, and we set ourselves up on set, waiting for the rest of the Vamps and the one human to arrive on set.

I made my way onto the set, frowning whenever I had the chance. I had read the book a few months ago, and although a few parts had been mostly realistic, some ideas were by far stupid, far too embellished from the truth.

"Hey Nessie." An arm came up behind me and made it's way around my abdomen. I almost yelped out in surprise at the sheer speed he had been able to come up without me noticing him.

"Don't do that. And I've said a thousand times, call me Vanessa. Nessie is a stupid nickname." I pouted but he just came around in front, placing his finger under my chin and lifting my face to lightly kiss my lips. As he pulled away, I was wearing a slightly happier look on my face.

"Well, Vanessa, we better go greet our co-stars." I sighed and immediately understood my annoyance. I wasn't in the movies until the very last one and it was as his daughter which was highly unrealistic. A half-vampire child was a highly dangerous thing which almost always resulted in the death of the mother and sometimes that child can be uncontrollable. I would know, I was one of those children but my mother had died. My father hadn't exactly cared either. I was an experiment to them. Luckily, I'd been whisked away by Matthew, who was playing Carlisle in the movie.

He pouted at me slightly, urging me to go with him. I smiled softly.

"Okay, Danny." His eye twitched for a moment and I smiled brightly. "You called me Nessie, I had to repay you for that." Daniel smirked as he took my hand and led me to the others.

"Hi there. Daniel here." I let out a breath of relief when I realized who it was.

"And Vanessa." I smiled, slightly happy that the set wouldn't be full of complete idiots.

I thrummed my finders impatiently beneath the window. This light seemed to go on forever. How long could one traffic light possibly last. They worked in accordance with the pressure points hidden on the road. There was a less then one percent chance that we weren't sitting the car perfectly over it, yes still the little walk sign refused to change.

I occupied myself with some of the bags in the back seat. They were the result of this morning's shopping trip. One thing I simply had to pick up, was the fourth installment of our lives. Not really our lives anymore they way Stephenie Meyer had gone through it. It was more like a fairy tale for us now. Sure she hadn't changes somethings, but in reality, no vampire could resist blood that tempting. Even the king of resistance Matthiew had given in when a human like so had come along.

I looked up at the light, before delving into Breaking Dawn. Finally it was going to change. We were already late, seeing as filming was scheduled to start in a half hour from now. We still had to go to hair an makeup, and rehearsal. to be fair none of us vampire cast members needed rehearsal, but that crazy little human actor was highly forgetful, even for a human.

Jeremy finally lurched the car forward and I smiled. He had a habit of driving too fast, about thirty over the speed limit. He had gotten so many speeding tickets, that his license was in threat of being revoked. I suggested each time he let me drive, but he never went for it. The boy should be a NASCAR racer.

"What one is that?" He asked me. Obviously he was referring to the book in my hand. Jeremy never read the books, he just relied on me to tell him what was going on. I rolled my eyes, and showed him the book title. He seemed to take that, as he said nothing more as I returned to my book. I was about three chapters in when we finally arrived. As usual there was reserved parking for all of us. I shut the book and rummages around in the backseat again, finding my purse, looking for the scripts. All that stuff that should have been grabbed before we left the hotel room this morning.

The scripts weren't there. Jeremy had forgotten them. You would think the boy were far from vampire the way he acted some days. I turned to laugh at him, and was caught off guard by the odd angle the car was sitting. He had already gotten out, so silently I hadn't heard, and was around at my door to let me out. I put Breaking Dawn in my purse and accepted his hand as I stepped out. I stared further at the odd angle of the red Ferrari, compared to the yellow lines of the parking spot. I laughed.

"How on earth did you park it so badly?" I asked through my giggles. The good thing about teasing Jeremy, was that he usually laughed along with it. I would say he was the more hyper of the two of us, which made filming difficult for him. He pulled of calm well, but not for long. Space between takes was usually filled in by hysterical laughter from our 'Jasper'.

"lets make fun of my parking later, we have to get to hair and makeup." He tugged me away from the car, the both of us still shaking with giggles. Yeah, today would be fun. I made a mental not to remember teasing him about our scripts later. I looked around to find extras when we walked into the makeup tent. No luck. Not that we needed them, but appearances had to be kept up. I sat down in my chair, and Jeremy in his. we had continues our strangle hold on each others hands.

Makeup was the worst part of the day in my mind. The poor makeup artists became so distracted by our beauty, they forgot what they had been doing in the first place. A reminder always had to be spoken to them, and luckily enough it wasn't I who had to say it today.

"I remembered someone saying something about high-UV blocking concealer? Stephanie Meyer mentioned it to me..." Each of our artists heard the comment, and snapped back into reality at once. I shot a thankful look at 'Rosalie' for speaking up today. Tomorrow I would take a turn. Makeup didn't take long for everyone else, but I needed a little extra. the very 'Alice' like eye makeup. And of course someone from hair had to make themselves look useful by rearranging my perfectly spiked hair. So my the time I got to wardrobe, everyone else had already changed.

I pulled my outfit on, frowning at the shoes. I wanted 'Rosalie's' shoes. Not flats. It was no coincidence that I was shorter then everyone in real life as well as movie life. This story was based on the vampires Stephenie Meyer had met. And those vamps would be us. I sighed as I got over the choice in shoe height, choosing to bother a passing crew member.

"Could I bother you to find Jeremy and I some scripts to read from? He left ours at home this morning." I asked him. I heard his breath catch in his throat upon looking at my face, but he regained his composure within a moment. Well sort of.

"I.. Um...yeah. Of course Isabella. Yeah...I'll be back in a minute " I frowned at my name. Of course my name had to be the same as the main character of this story. I sighed and took Jeremy's hand again, sticking my tongue out at his silly grin. I had a sneaking feeling he had forgotten the scripts on purpose.

I looked over at Isabella's shoes with envy as she walked on set. They were totally adorable and completely easy to walk in... unlike the heels that were starting to hurt my feet. I fingered a single lock of my hair, twirling it around and around my finger in an unconscious gesture. I didn't notice anyone staring at me, and suddenly James was saying something to me, low enough that only the vampires near (or himself and me) could hear.

"That cameraman has been staring at you since you started..." I didn't look, fighting an instinct all girls had. Instead, I looked at James, dressed as he was like Emmett, and found a smile spreading across my face. As the cameraman had been undoubtedly watching me, so had James. I saw that a smile was also on his face, and suddenly I couldn't stand the intensity of his amber eyes.

I looked over at Isabella and smiled, I had a feeling she knew what was going on between Emmett and myself. I shuffled my feet slightly, looking down once again at my awesome shoes. That were hurting my feet.

I thought about that for a moment. Yes, my feet were sore. But it wasn't necessarily from the shoes, I mean, my skin was like granite, right? So how could a shoe hurt it? Then it must be the angle my foot was forced into from the heel. But it did look pretty, I admitted to myself.

I looked up as Daniel and Vanessa came on stage. Vanessa was heading towards her normal seat at the edge of the production set, and Daniel joined us on stage. The poor human that played Bella walked on, seemingly dazed and confused. I chuckled, and upon looking around saw that I was not the only one chuckling at Vampire volume. Seemed like most of the vamps were.

"Quiet on the set!" Someone called. I took my place as the director took his, with the cinematographer and the camera people near by.

"There's your cameraman" James said, once again vampire-level and motioned towards one of the side cameras.

The good thing about speaking in vampire, I thought to myself, was that the microphones didn't pick it up. I looked over at the camera person James had mentioned and was not surprised to see him training his camera on me specifically. He was going to get in trouble for it, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

James leaned towards me as the other cameras trained in on Daniel and the person playing Bella. He was lucky that there was only one camera on him, and that the human was having trouble with her lines. She was clearly actually infatuated with 'Edward', but Daniel was dating Vanessa, or 'Reneesme.'

"Those shoes make your legs look... amazingly long..." He said in vampire-speak again. A delicious shiver ran down my spine and I bit my lower lip. I looked up quickly, then followed James's eyes down to my excellent shoes. I loved them, they were beautiful, and so comfortable.

Okay, I could admit to myself, the shoes were still killing my feet. But they looked so good... and, I admitted, James liked them.

A smile tugged at the corner of my mouth, threatening my mean Rosalie exterior. Both James and I moved suddenly, almost inhumanly fast, to our spots. I held the salad bowl in my hands, one of many.

I knew that this was not going to be the only time, or way, we shot this scene, and we wouldn't necessarily even use this scene set up, but I was enjoying myself. Smashing bowls of glass (aka candy) was too much fun, and I relished it.

I gripped the edge of the chair, slight anger consuming me. It lasted but a mere second though Daniel heard my thought in that very moment. I cursed myself for my jealousy. I should have been used to girls fawning over him but for some reason this little human 'Bella' bothered me. It might have been her inability to get her lines out because of his beauty, and he was totally hot, or it could have been the fact that she wouldn't stop staring into his totally gorgeous amber eyes. Maybe it was the fact that his shirt fit so perfectly over his chiseled body, his totally hot, messy bedhead hairstyle, or his perfectly shaped lips. I cursed again, knowing that he could hear my thoughts.

I fiddled with the edge of my skirt, trying not to think about my 'Edward's' incredible hotness, or I suppose he wasn't exactly mine. Maybe that was what infuriated me the most. It had never been said between the two of us, it was just expected. I had a deep fear that at some point he would leave me. My stupid human side allowed me to think that way. If I had been a full vamp girl, like Isabella or Christie, live would be so much better. I wouldn't worry about these kind of things. A soft sigh escaped my lips as one of the other actors not in this scene came up beside me.

"Hey Vanessa. Watching Natalia and Daniel again?" I sighed as I turned to Tevin, the boy playing 'James' in the movie. His arm rested along the back of my chair and he leaned forward to talk lowly in my ear.

"Hey Tev. Thought they weren't filming your scenes today? Did the schedule change?" I said, happy to be distracted from the two 'lovebirds'.

On set, Daniel snarled quietly. He definitely did not like this Tevin guy. Especially when he was hanging out with his friends.

"I thought I'd check on the filming progress. And the director was thinking, depending on how it goes today, we might be able to get out one of my scenes or at least do a run through. Doesn't look like that'll happen by the looks of our lovely Natalia." They both turned to look at Natalia still getting caught on her lines, what little lines she had anyways.

"Good luck with that. I don't think we're going to get anywhere anytime soon. Do you really need to do a run through though? I don't think any of us really have to." I laughed lightly. Natalia finally stuttered out her lines much to the relief of everyone.

"Alright Natalia. Good job. This time I'd like to go for a more nervous Bella, mostly silent until the line about eating." The director said. I got up from my seat and went to the snack table. Once in a while I did enjoy normal food, especially those little sandwiches they always had.

"...you stay back, while Isabella hugs her. You need to look like you want to eat her. Think vampire. okay?" One of the crewmen was going over this particular scene with us while we waited behind the set. I was flipping through the pages of my borrowed script, reading ahead to the scene I wanted to film the most. Baseball. My mind snapped back to, when I heard the order of "Quiet on the set." and I scanned my lines quickly again. Soon the sheets were handed over and Jeremy and I were listening for our cues.

Several times the Director yelled cut, and restarted the scene. I felt her level of frustration. Catherine Hardwicke was just trying to make a movie here, and one poor casting choice was ruining the entire thing. Granted the little human had been cast before any of us, but with the way this was going, we would have to extend filming even further. We had already added two weeks onto our original twenty-five filming days. What was a few more, to get lines right. As much as it would anger Vanessa, I was going to suggest Natalia and Daniel get together off set and go over lines together. Maybe it would help her be more comfortable around such beautiful creatures as ourselves.

I heard the filming resume, and I waited once more for our cue. I heard Christie, or 'Rosalie' telling 'Bella' how the family secret would be compromised, if 'Edward' decided to kill her. I cringed when Natalia stuttered over her line, but when Catherine didn't stop it, I figured it must work with the image she had for 'Bella'. I would have made her do it again, but that wasn't the issue at hand. With a hand from Jere I climbed up onto the branch we were supposed to enter the scene on. He hopped up behind me, and I poked his sides, gaining one last barely audible giggle from him before we made our appearance.

"Hi, Bella!" I chimed as we walked onto the set. I hopped down gracefully from the tree branch, and glided over to Natalia. After backing away from the embrace I just laid on the poor girl, I spoke my next line, identically to the book. "You do smell nice, I never noticed before."

The lines continued with 'Edward' being weirded out by what I had just said. I backed up toward Jeremy, watching his face now, as opposed to Natalia. I heard Matthiew begin the 'Carlisle' explanation to 'Jasper's' distance, and stiffness. To anyone else Jeremy would look awkward, and as if he were in pain , or restraining himself. The last one proved to be quite true. He was trying not to laugh. He was always the one who started the giggle fits during takes. So while he held in his laughter, he managed to pull of the perfect 'Jasper Cullen'. He slewed out a perfect "Nice to meet you" and I remembered it was time for my line. I had been so caught up with staring at him, I almost pulled a Natalia, and forgot to deliver my line. But Vampires have better reflexes, and with the way time moves for us vamps, we have better reaction time as well.

"It's okay Jasper," I said, flicking my eyes toward Nat, then back to Jere, "You wont hurt her."

Then it was time for 'Edward' and 'Bella' to take their leave. Daniel turned Natalia away from us, and insisted on taking her on a tour of the rest of the house. Natalia again, stuttered over one word, and I nearly forgot my line of farewell yet again, but this time it was due to sheer anger at the little human. In reality I think I was the 'Rosalie' of the group, the way I hated Natalia so.

"See you later, Bella. You and I are going to be great friends, I just know it."

"AND CUT!"
It bothered me that Catherine didn't sound entirely happy. We would definitely be re-doing that scene. Jeremy burst into giggles, and I rolled my eyes. This was going to be a really long day. I hooked arms with my giggling boyfriend, and dragged him off the set to where Vanessa was raiding the sandwich platter. We weren't going to be needed for a while, as Catherine had just decided to do more takes of the first part of the scene again. Meaning Christie had to keep smashing bowls on set. What a terrible waste of salad bowls.

I snagged a piece of the candy before it was swept away, playing with it between my ice-cold fingers. It didn't melt, and retained the brittle, sharp edges. I was fascinated by the colours it created on the floor, with the light shinning through it, and allowed myself to be drawn into them, ignoring Natalie and Daniel going over lines with the director, once again.

My amber eyes were glazing over slightly, letting my mind wander and not really focus on anything. I had been fairly ditzy as a human, I will admit, and to the date, I believe that I was the only Vampire who didn't need to focus on anything. In fact, it was almost like a special talent of mine that allowed me to completely unfocus, like a human, letting myself simply drift.

It almost startled me when James came up behind me and placed his hand on the small of my back. He leaned into me, and was speaking at a human-quiet level. The tone of his voice made it sound like he was whispering sweet nothings into my ear, and I thanked fate that I could no longer blush. I was much better at controlling my emotions as a vampire than I had ever been as a human, as well as being more focused and, well... smarter.

"How do you do that?" James asked. I looked up at him - really, even with the heels he still had a good two or three inches on me.

"What?" I asked, not really knowing what he was referring to.

"That. Not thinking, unfocused, thing."

My eyebrows drew together in a frown, and I thought for a moment. I mean, had it been that obvious that I was not paying attention to anything? I glanced over at Daniel, was was also looking at me quizzically. He quickly went back to his scene, saying the line when needed.

"I just... let my mind drift?" It certainly was a question. I had no idea how I did it, but it seemed to confuse most other vampires.

James appeared confused for a moment, until his frown cleared and he smiled at me.

"I guess that is your special talent, then. Pretty cool." It was a crooked smile, and I felt my own mouth moving in time, an answering smile on my own face.

"How about you? Any 'special talents'?" I teased. Mine was far from a real talent, not like Daniel and his ability to read thoughts.

James winked at me, and I felt my insides flip.

"I would go into detail, but we're about to start filming... and it's a little inappropriate." He chuckled under his breath in a way that could only be described as sensual. I found myself giggling along as the director called for quiet on the set. It was not going to help Jeremy's giggles as James and I could not stop even as filming started.

I returned to my seat only to find it had been moved closer to the director. With a nod of acknowledgement, I took my seat and watched the scene taking place in front of us. Catherine seemed rather unhappy with how the scenes were unfolding which wasn't surprising. Natalia's acting seemed to be getting worse by the minute. It was unfortunate that there had already been press realeases announcing her as Bella. They could have easily replaced her with my help.

"When it comes around to Bella's turning, it would be better to throw you in there instead." I heard Catherine quietly say to me in exasperation. She called cut and called Natalia over to talk with her for a moment.

"Natalia. For these scenes, I need you to remember you're lines. I don't mind the stuttering too much as it somehwat suits Bella but you're forgetting your lines a lot." The poor girl looked like a deer caught in the headlights. She glanced over at me uncertainly. I offered a small small, hoping it might ease her nerves a bit. Natalia smiled back lightly before returning back to the set. She had absolutely no idea how much some of the people here hated her. It wasn't because she was human or some sort of prejudice against her, it was because of her damn inability to get the lines out as soon as she stared at one of us. And by us I mean vampires, vamps, immortals, the undead, whatever we're called nowadays.

I watched absently as the scene began again. My eyes caught the sight of one of the cameramen nearby. I followed the angle of the camera to see it focused on Christie. A barely audible giggle escaped from my lips, earning a quick glance from Daniel. So it seemed the cameraman had a little crush on our 'Rosalie' though I wasn't surprised. She was beautiful not to mention the fact that the shoes she was wearing made her legs look amazing. I suddenly found myself wanting to go shoe shopping. Womanly instincts still ran through me I suppose. Daniel laughed quietly earning a light curse from me. He was still reading my thoughts. A well earned glare was sent his way which immediately stopped his laughter.

With a sigh I stood. deciding to go on a small walk of the set. I pulled my mp3 player from my pocket and put on Saviour by Lights. It was one of my newest favourite songs. There was no point in sticking around just to hear the little human mess up her lines over and over while staring at Daniel with what could only be described as obsession. Maybe that wasn't the right word. I thought about it as I walked around the different sets. Behind the Cullen house was the Swan home. Stepping up onto the set, I walked around the furniture and props, imagining the parts of the books which were to take place on this set.

Unfortunately, this time the director called cut, I was to blame. I smashed the bowl a moment to early, because James giggled and I flexed my hands together in an answering giggle. Which only made him laugh harder. Which made me laugh harder. And when Daniel heard our thoughts, he started chuckling. The Natalie looked around us all confused.

And we laughed harder.

Catherine simply rolled her eyes and waited. It was rare for one of us vamps to be the cause of a cut, so she accepted the few times it happened.

It took a very long time for us to stop laughing, however. One look from myself of James at anyone in the cast would send us bending over in laughter, which would send Daniel into giggles, which would make everyone else laugh. Finally, Natalie looked around at us and started giggling because we were laughing so hard.

This only made us laugh more.

Catherine called a break for about ten minutes or so, since we were laughing so loud we had broken one of the microphones.

I danced off the set, more in line with 'Alice' than 'Rosalie', my eyes twinkling with giggles and good cheer. I whirled around and James was still on set, watching me with a completely different glint in his eyes.

Suddenly, I stopped laughing and smiled shyly.

"Just do it." Daniel muttered as he walked off in search of Vanessa. I knew I would have blushed if I could have, because I knew he was reading both of our thoughts. And they were far from pure.

"We could always take his advice..." James murmured, suddenly right beside me. I didn't think that I had zoned out... but I never knew.

"I have been around a lot longer than you..." I muttered, sticking my tongue out. "And I am old fashioned."

He leaned in closely, his breath brushing against my cheeks and delicious shivers running down my body. He definitely got the response he wanted, but he was not Daniel and he would never know.

I licked my lips respectively, and he swallowed hard. The I realized that we were less than an inch away, leaning into each other. I stepped back playfully and said, loudly enough for even the humans to hear, that I thought we had the relationship down pat.

"But I do need some help with lines." I added. Then I turned and made my way to the other side of the Cullen house. I was too distracted to realize that Jeremy and Isabella were already there.

"Uhh... Hi guys..." I added, cursing to myself.

Jeremy and I had been in our own little world since the first cut. The two of us had buggered off to the set of 'Edward's' bedroom, which was beside the kitchen set. That gave us enough privacy from the others, but not so much that we didn't know what was happening should we be needed.

We were chattering about our wedding. A very unusual thing for vampires I assure you.Vampires do not normally feel the need for weddings. They don't care. In most cases all the rules of humanity were already shattered to oblivion. In the case of Jeremy and I, we tried to be as human as we possibly could. This meant that he felt as if he had to propose to me one week ago. This meant after three years of knowing one another, three years of this committed relationship that was already so odd in the vampire world, we were to be wed like any humans were.

"Red or Yellow?" He had asked, speaking of course about the flowers I wanted.

"Yellow. But not that orange yellow, more of a sunshine yellow....." I trailed off when Christie came around the corner of the wall. We had not yet told anyone of our engagement. As before stated it wasn't something most vampires took so well. Without knowing how they would react, it was hard to know how to tell them.

Christie was blushing, and I hardly knew why. I hadn't been paying any attention to anyone but Jere. He was smirking though, which made me think he knew what was up with her. He would tell me later. I stood up, and disentangled myself from him.

"I'm going to go find out when Catherine needs us next..." I said ambling off toward set again. I wondered vaguely if she had hear anything of what we said. Who knows how long she had been standing there while we talked. I spotted Daniel and turned my thought process to something else. Lunch maybe. Yeah that worked. No need for him to know yet either. He never reacted well to anything.

I sighed, leaning against the back of the couch. It was really annoying the way the little human was all over Daniel. Of course, it wasn't like she was competition or anything but I was already having a bad day. Her adding to it was not helping. I ran my hands over my face in exasperation. How could I be jealous of a human such as her? Not that I was against humans, I was half of one after all.

Once again I'd let my human fears take over my thought process so much that I didn't even notice Daniel arrive.

"There is no way I could like her anywhere near as much as I do you." He said as his arms wrapped around me from behind. I could hear the humour in his voice but I could also hear the softness in the way he said it. He obviously meant it in a comforting way though he definitely found my jealousy amusing.

"I'd really like you to stop reading my mind. It always gives you an unfair advantage." I could barely disguise the light smile that had graced my face. There was just something about him that never allowed me to be angry for long.

"I could pretend I can't but I rather thought you'd enjoy skipping past the awkward attempts at me trying to make up for screwing up." I could feel his laughter in his chest against my back. It was a comforting feeling.

"You raise a good point Mr. Cullen." I smirked and looked up at him. His smile matched mine.

"How about we take this 'upstairs' and you can help me run my lines." I smiled innocently.

"I'm sure you don't need to run lines Daniel, you are always good with memorization." His smile faltered which only increased my own.

"Besides, I'm half human. You're going to have to work harder than that." With a giggle I slipped out from his arms. Not that it mattered, he'd quickly captured me again.

"So you want more romance?" He raised an eyebrow, a smile on his face again. Damn that was sexy. His smile increased as my heartbeat quickened. He was definitely reading my mind again.

"Daniel, you're needed on set again." Tevin's voice reached the two of us and Daniel's smile was replaced with a frown. I blinked in surprise at his sudden change in expression. Looking just past him I noticed Tevin's smug grin and was even further confused by it. These two definitely had some sort of something between them.
