Thought it was about time I stopped lurking around these parts and said hello! I'm in the last stages of setting up an affiliate down here in Newcastle, with just the website to go up. it should materialise here: www.crossfitnewcastle.com I'm dimly aware that none of the Crossfit guys in the UK know who I am so I'll be bold and introduce myself with some background, then you guys can rip on me for a while because I'm the new guy and too shy I coach and train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and lots of thai-boxing in a gym down here, as well as doing some MMA fighting. The whole crossfit thing came along and replaced the strength and conditioning training we were doing for our fighters, and it's just blown up from there. A lot of people are just interested in the fitness component of what we've got going on. I studied all the CF journals and started working from the insights and ideals contained in those, and made it out to Santa Cruz this september for the cert, and came back enthusing about the whole deal. So the plan is just to keep on doing what were doing, as well as being here for Joe public to come and get some CrossFit goodness. I'll be up in Glasgow this weekend so I'll drop by and say hello to you guys. Is it cool to give you a ring Davie? Hopefully I'll make it down to Chris Kemps place next week for a couple of workouts. It'll be nice to meet up with some UK CrossFitters! Cheers Ian |
