Well all things considered I'd rather be back in Santa Cruz.

The weather in Scotland is diabolical. It's been raining for almost two days non stop.

So to cheer myself up I did the same workout as I did on my first days visit to Santa Cruz.

AMRAP in 20 min or 10 rounds for time.

5 Hang squat snatches
7 Pull ups
10 Thrusters

75# men 53# ladies

Neil 30 kg 8 complete rounds

Ellie 17.5 kg 5 rounds in 15 min (ran out of time)

Catch up day

Lunchtime session.

1000 mtr row + 500 reps jump rope + Burgener WU

5 x 5 front squat

6 x 5 x 50 kg + 2 x 5 x 60 warm up sets

Far to many wu sets but had no choice as there was a muppet would be body builder who I swear did 15 sets of bench press using the only power rack in the gym.

5 x 5 x 85 kg all racked

Managed to keep elbows high throughout(This was a first)

Evening session

1000 mtr row + 500 reps jump rope

Tried the WOD

5 Rounds
400 mtr run
21 x SDHP x 35 kg
21 x Thursters x 35 kg

Managed only 3 rounds then my legs told me %&£$ off. They refused to play anymore.

18.50

The front squats didn't help.

Hi Davie,

I was training at the Fitness Factory in Irvine.

James(JGP) is a member there. Ellie and I use it for the heavier workouts or sessions that are not suitable at home.

We usually end up taking in our own equipment to do the WOD's much to the amusement of the members.

Funnily enough we don't get to many taking us up on the invitation to join in.

Can't understand why!

Deadlift

WU sets: 10 x 60 kg; 6 x 100 kg; 3 x 130 kg;

3 x 140 kg
3 x 150 kg
3 x 160 kg
3 x 170 kg
2 x 180 kg = PR

Felt really good especially as I've missed the last three heavy deadlift WODs

Tabata treadmill runs: 8 x 20 secs run 10 secs recovery.

Treadmill set at 12 % incline.

1: 7 mph
2: 7 mph
3: 7 mph
4: 7 mph
5: 7.5 mph
6: 7.5 mph
7: 7.5 mph
8: 8 mph

Hard work on the legs. Could have run them all at 7.5 mph.

Hamstrings feel as though someone has replaced them with another pair 6 inches to short.

28.44 This was a mega hard session and definitely needs a spotter.

5 sets 30 secs jump rope sprints 180/200 RPM

12 Deadlift BW
21 Box jumps 18" box

Neil 11.57 DL 85 kg(slightly more than BW)

Ellie 14.00 DL 50 kg(slightly more than BW) step ups instead of jumps
