I've taken a long time to get round to this, but apparently it's cathartic (or so I'm told):

Saturday 8th March 2008:

Stand with minimal movement on a concrete floor for 3.5 hours

Rest for 30 minutes

Stand with minimal movement on a concrete floor for 3.5 hours

Completed!!!

I should mention this was done in the context of umpiring an indoor softball tournament, so there was an added element in that I had decisions queried, my sanity questioned, and my eyesight impugned.

(Day two of tournament):
Sunday 9th March 2008

Stand with minimal movement on a concrete floor for 3.5 hours

Rest for 30 minutes

Stand with minimal movement on a concrete floor for 3.5 hours

Take heat from players regarding your decisions

Completed!

(also - had a team walk off during a game thereby forfeiting)

The above drill is good for giving you sore calves, lower back (not as bad as last year - thanks Davie!), achy breaky brain and making you feel like some-one has taken a hot flat iron to the soles of your feet!!

I'm getting right in about this now - I'm on a roll!!

Tuesday 11th March 2008:

Lift 40% of extremely adhesive floor tiles in kitchen and rear porch
Remove 50% of wood panelling in kitchen
Remove shelves from built-in cupboard in rear porch
Remove wooden coving in kitchen
Move fridge, cooker, washing machine and tumble drier, clean areas behind and under each and replace
Empty all cupbaords and drawers, bag/box contents, take upstairs to top landing and place bags/boxes in attic (via ladder)
Reckon that this job is gonna be messier and take longer than first anticipated
Remove detritus to van - skip in morning

4.5 hours

- I should have gone to Crossfit instead 'cos my right forearm and shoulder feel like they're on fire, plus it would have been over quicker

Shurrup Jools - you're just a big sweaty burd who thinks in metric (that's millimetres) !

Anyway...

Tuesday 25.03.08 (class workout)

400 000mm run (in metric)
75 press-ups
100 sit-ups (free)
125 squats
400 000mm run
125 squats
100 sit-ups (pinned)
75 press-ups
400 000mm run

Time = 28.45minutes (for Jools that's 28'27" in old money)

Sunday 30.03.08 - training with the Demons Softball team

Kempies 5 mins of pain

5 mins to complete each separate workout-faster you do it the more rest you get. If you dont complete it go straight into the next workout when the clook beeps

Workout 1 - 30 burpee

Workout 2 - 21-15-9 reps of thruster 2 x 10kg DB + KB Swing 16kg

Workout 3 - 30 burpee

Workout 4 - 21-15-9 reps of Push press 2 x 10kg DB + SDHP 16kg KB

Workout 5 - 30 burpee

The above nicked from Davie's workout log (cheers mate!) except for the weights 'cos I'm a weakling

Tuesday 1st April (class workout):

Death By Burpee

Completed set 19 and got 16 in set 20. Total = 206. New PB by 24.

Knackered!

Then done 2 minutes of sit-ups passing medicine ball to training partner;
2 minutes of passing medicine ball back to back with training partner;
10 catches of medicine ball from behind on right, throw on left
10 catches of medicine ball from behind on left, throw on right;
repeated as thrower.

Then plank (don't know time 'cos it wasn't timed but it was sore).

Going home got stuck in a traffic jam caused by a lorry full of cows crashing just in front of me and blocking the entire M73 carriageway, the cows getting out and running around, the emergency services attending (5 fire trucks, 1 ambulance, 1 fire car, 4 cop cars, 1 helicopter and 2 AMEY vans) - I blame Big Dave for making me do the plank at the end
