The Wolverson Fitness bells get a good rating, however, having looked at them, they seem to have a narrow handle, i.e. they are competition bells. I'd like one with the larger handle, similar to the ones you have, so it seems like the Newitts ones would be fine. Do you agree? Also, do you have the instructions for building a box and could you give me some advice on things to avoid/materials to use? Cheers |

At gym tonight but at start of workout, 1000m row = 3 mins 22secs. At end of workout, 1000m row = 3 mins 28 secs. Quite happy with those times. Aim is now to break 3 mins 20secs. |

10 rounds for time 5 pull ups 10 thrusters with 22.6kg (mad weights I have, 2 x 11.3kg plates!) 15 kb swing 24kg (1st workout with my new toy! )16mins 35secs |

Davie, they are as you described them. The angle of the handles isn't as great, therefore the length of the handle is shorter. In saying that, it is still perfect for myself and not too narrow. Only concern is that there is a small crack around a quarter of the circumference where the handle joins to the bell. I was wondering if this was natural with the cast iron bell, i.e. small defects? Any ideas? |

Garage workout: 1 min deadlift (65kg) 1 min push press (16kg dumbells) 1 min rest x 7 rounds Round 1: 25 Deads, 25 PP Round 2: 23 Deads, 24 PP Round 3: 21 Deads, 23 PP Round 4: 21 Deads, 19 PP Round 5: 21 Deads, 19 PP Round 6: 19 Deads, 20 PP Round 7: 20 Deads, 19 PP Very hard, but good workout. |

Saturday evening workout 5 rounds of 20 x jumping squats 20 x lunges 20 x push press (25kg) Time: 12 mins dead First time I've ever done jumping squats....they are painful!!! |

Last night at gym Row 2k = 6 mins 56secs Delighted to break the 7 min mark but was absolutely knackered after it. Took me 10 mins to recover! I'd love to get a Concept 2 rower for the garage, but didn't realise just how expensive they were! Edited by Kenny, Mar 17 2009, 02:32 PM.

Great work on sub 7 row kenny. I got my rower last year ( model D) after a lot of surfing on E-bay & eventually a guy from musselburgh saw my advert & contacted me. I got it for £600 but they usually go for £700+ & most people only deliver locally - it is nice tho having one at home. Then again you may have the same luck as wide boy Davie who got his for a song!! - Maybe a model C & buy a PM3 monitor would be a good option. Again good work Cheers Spider |

Not posted in a while but going to get back to it. Anyway, workout yesterday Monday 8th June: "Barbara" 20 x pull ups 30 x push ups 40 x sit ups 50 x squats 5 rounds, 3 mins rest between rounds 1st: 4.52 2nd: 5.35 3rd: 5.29 4th: 6.00 5th: 6.10 Great workout! Messed about trying handstand push ups after this but failed miserably! Don't really know where to start without someone there balancing my legs! |
