Core System Details

Every person has a score in the seven core stats.
Fighting - Combat related actions
Agility- Dodging, ranged attacks, and general coordination
Strength- Physical strength
Endurance- Stamina, capacity for holding your breath, physical resistances
Reason- Intelligence, brains, raw smarts
Intuition- Wits and common sense, noticing things, sensing danger
Psyche- Force of will, source of magic power

Each of these scores (As well as any other ranked aspect) is given a rank, which correlates to this chart. Included on this chart is a dice roll, to be used when generating things randomly. More accurate charts for the characters species are available in the Ultimate powers book, but this is a good general basic chart.

The next most important aspect to be aware of is your variable abilities. These are more likely to fluctuate than your base ones.
Health, is the sum of your FASE stats, plus any bonuses from powers, and quirks. If your health is reduced to 0, you're knocked out cold, or worse.

Healing
You gain HP equal to your Endurance rank number every day, doubled if you rest in bed, and tripled if under trained care. Endurance ranks are recovered at a rate of one rank per week.

Karma reflects a heroes control over their luck. You can spend it on dice rolls to increase a check and increase its likelihood to succeed. It can also be spent to raise your resources or your abilities. Beginning Karma is equal to your RIP scores. Heroes can spend Karma freely, except on a turn when they are surprised. (Before you make your roll, declare that you are going to use Karma to try to accomplish a specific colour level of feat. Even if your Karma is insufficient, or you make the roll without needing karma? The minimum cost is 10 Karma. Otherwise, subtract the Karma used) Karma can also be used to reduce the color of another characters result one step for a full 40 points.

Resources represent money and supplies.

Popularity indicates how well liked the character is. This has many advantages when it comes to how the media reflects the character. Low popularity characters are more likely to get little to no press, or worse, bad press when they are noticed.

FEATs
Universal Table

These represent extraordinary actions that normally require checks because there is a decent chance of failure. Activities normal for the character normally do no require checks, unless the environment has been abnormally adjusted. (For example, Spidey swinging on webs doesn't need a check.... until he's trying to swing between two helicopters without getting his web cut.)

When you make a check (a percentile check, or a number randomly generated between 1-100) you'll check the ability column on the universal chart. A white result is a failure. Any colour result is a success for an easy task. Moderately difficult tasks only succeed on yellow or red checks, and the most difficult of tasks only succeed on red checks.
