How did u lock the diff? I assumed it's the rear diff coz by locking the rear diff will make the car easier to drift. But i wouldn't recommend that you fully lock the diff. And i assumed that you're using bevel gears diff. Just apply thick grease to the rear gear diff and you'll be ok. Don't glue it!!! And if you're using ball diff, then just tighthen it.

Is it necessary for TT-01 to lock diff for drifting? The TT-01 D kit diff is already locked right?

nope.. its not neccesary, though some say that by locking your diff its easier to drift/ make longer drifts.. but i dont find any difference after locking my diff.. so its personal preference

No it's not locked.

Locking rear diff will caused the rear wheels to break loose easily. It's advisable to keep the rear ball diff tighter than the front. Fully locking the rear ball diff might damage the ball diff.

I locked my rear bevel gear diff with hot glue and it works like a charm now. Drifts beautifully now compared to previously. I guess it depends or the overall setup and driving style of individuals.

How tight should a diff lock be. As tight as possible?

Pls do not lock your front diff, only to the rear diff.

To tight will break you diff.
Lock till u cannot turn it diffrent way. B4 that removed the ball diff inside the diff and replace it rubber (tyre tube ect...). Cut to fit. Do not remove the bearing. Very hard explain.

Warning, lock rear diff your car cannot get good setting for touring anymore.

U can get more advise from the member ( sat drift meet + clinnic )

Can unlock again right? But not the same 'tension' as before and cannot get the 'right' setting as before.

Correct?

Yup can unlock back. Run that car on track 1st - 1 pack, then re-lock. Should be ok after that.
Remember to apply diff lub.

img.. ive locked all my FOUR tires!! use blu tack oni.. should i unlock the fronts? i notice not much difference except the car is more sensitive when cornering.. too sensitive i think.. advice pls.. how can the diffs break..??

Important Component inside the diff -
Ball Differential x 2 size
Spring - 1.5mm normal / standard
Diff Thrust Washer x 2
Ball Bearing x 3 normal / standard
Lock Nut / End - For Differential Screw
Diffrential Screw - to tight up diff

The diff screw it will give more tensioner / compress to the spring.
In normal case diff break -
- Housing holding diff thurust washer / spring will "crack"
- Lock Nut / End - tight up diff screw - damaged threaded.

If got pic more clear :)

Just FYI, for Yokomo, they sell those solid diff (spool) for REAR for ~RM50plus.
