Hi guys,

I wanna know whether all u guys out there are interested in RC Drift Competition similar to D10. I'm doing a survey for a friend. Any 1/10th scale R/C can enter. Probably tied with local 1/1 drift events.

Its a start and I wanna know all your comments & suggestion or feedback.

To make it easy i think for the first competition no need to do so much judging work. Just divide into 3 classes that is three types of wheels PVC, ABS & Drift tyre, use all on the same track.

No limit on motors or what sover ho-ups, as long as they qualify the tyre then its ok. Set for ten laps, whoever finish first wins. This is much closer to speed racing race, and maybe tourers would find it interesting to join.

I've been in speed racing and now into drifting, its totally new concept of driving style. Power does not guarantee you the podium finish, it will be interesting race.. :bravo:

Sorry to intterupt yah shah, but as wat u mentioned are more to touring style.. i think we should incorporate the real drifting judging methods to the RC side. How fast u enter a corner, angle, stay as close as yr opponents etc.. As u know there are 2 runs for every sessions. Its either u chase or u lead yr opponents. Its not a race to the finishing line. Its how how much "style" u finish the race.. ^_^ Yah judging wise, its not gonna an easy task, but we hafto start it some way or another..

juz my oppinion yah.. cheers.

I know ...but I was suggesting it because at the moment I think there may be no one is qualified enough to be a judge. Off-course it's more to tourer style but that's the catch, is actually to get the tourers involved and love the new RC sport. for the tourers they need not to spend a fortune to drift, just a set of wheels would be enough, so they have nothing to lose.

Yes the angle of cornering is different, but you must remember that the law is to use the same type of tyres... so no matter how u drive you have to drift.. if the don't drift then obviously other cars are more faster or stylish than themselves when taking corners(especially on a cementwith PVC). this I think will motivate everyone to get faster and better drift always.

And another thing is, in drift there is a battle where you'll follow your opponent without hitting them and whoever has the closest to the apex will be awarded higher point, but if you manage to overtake your opponent during a drift then automaticly you'll win. This way I would say much like race to the finish line..

Once this community become bigger and have real quality drifts then we could select a qualified judge amongst the drifters. Only drifters could value a good drift, hence award the points right.

Most tourers know that drifting is really fun but will never feel the real fun when they themselves drifting. Once they get into it and addicted, then the sport will grow...

As you can see the numbers registered to this community, it does not really represent 100% drifters. Some are only trying to use the community to sell their used items. Not really into drifting..

However your opinion is true also, by the way it's only my opinion. It's up to the majority... whatever it is I will support 100%. But I would much happier to see more drifters around maybe say....100~200 active drifters throughout malaysia..

I would like to vision that in the near future all RC shops will show Malaysian RC Drift videos to promote their products.

ive spoken to some of the organizers n according to them, they are trying their very best to bring down judges for our community such as tengku d or zee among the well known drifters in d1gp here.. but this type off ppls are not easy to get them to turun padang since they have their own thing as well...

for now we juz hope for the best that this will come true some where near the future.. ^_^ n as SG Drifters like to say.. "keep it real"

If we manage to bring down pro drifter like them then it'll should be ok then, to have real drift comp. It's best to incorporate D1:10 with D:1 but still I think we would have problems of the numbers of racers. :D

Thats why I was asking whether you guys who are not from Klang Valley willing to join :). I just hope that one day all Malaysian RC drifters could meet anually maybe and just have fun.

Yes, the competition depends on where do all of us wanna go. We can follow D10 rules or we can make our own rules. If we follow the D10 rules, competitors will tend to improve to international standards faster. If we follow our own rules, the learning rate is a bit slow but heading towards there lah, maybe. Maybe for a start, we can make our own rules first whichwhatever that can get support from all of you. But as time progress, we have to improve laa.

Judges no problem, leave it to me :D
