Reference Photos; What is and is Not Acceptable

Just a quick, basic guide as to what we look for in a reference photo.

If you think "No one would be stupid enough to try some of these" - guess again. Every type of image listed below "Unacceptable References" has been tried before.

Acceptable References:
Full-body (or mostly full-body), decently sized, unaltered photographs of feral and breedless domestic cats. Blue-eyed cats MUST be adult photographs if you intend to play the character with one or two or partially blue eyes; all kittens have blue eyes until about 6 weeks. Blue-eyed white cats are often born deaf, so you may not use a solid white cat with blue eyes as a reference photo. If you cannot prove the adult cat with the coloration of your choice has one or two blue eyes, you must use another, more common color: green, hazel, yellow, gold, or variations thereof. Odd-eyed cats in which one eye is not blue should also find a matching photograph.
