DTW/IJPW Co-Promoter
|
THE MAN IN CHARGE Goro Yamashi DTW Promoter Eccentric Tokyo tycoon who is known for living an extravagant lifestyle. He's about 5'8”, but he weighs over 500 pounds and looks like he consumes nothing but Big Macs and cocaine. Yamashi needs to be hauled everywhere. He often appears with a small militia of servants carrying him on his throne while being surrounded by tons of scantily clad women. Goro doesn't care if people insult his weight issues, or anything else about him, because he actually enjoys being insulted. Yamashi is a pisshead who loves the banter, and he has a wicked and bizarre sense of humor. He's a thick-skinned man who just loves drugs, women, and bloodshed. His parties are infamous and his beloved yacht, Miss Decadence, will also host DTW shows. Yamashi is also the President of Iron Japan Pro Wrestling. EXECUTIVE OFFICERS Moku Thames DTW Commissioner Former RSW Chief Executive Officer. His father is from London and his mother is from Osaka, where he was born and raised. Moku is still a rather mysterious figure in the wrestling business after all these years. He isn't seen in public very often, but he's known to be quite the player behind the scenes. Moku will most likely continue to operate quietly as the DTW Commissioner and choose to stay out of the spotlight. This is the man who books most of the matches in Death Trip Wrestling. Koji Matsui Associate Producer Former Executive Vice President of Programming for ESPN Asia who once sat on the RSW Board of Directors. He lost his position at ESPN Asia after a drunken incident at a board meeting, but Yamashi has a soft spot for him, so he always finds employment in the big man's operations. Matsui apparently entertains Yamashi at his parties by doing some tricks with a ping pong ball or something. It's not for children's birthday parties. Ken Watanabe Behind-The-Scenes Adviser Watanabe is mostly known as a senior referee in Rising Sun Wrestling. He worked for smaller promotions around Japan after RSW closed in 2008 before settling into a backstage role. Watanabe provides many years of experience and has worked almost every role in the business, making him a very valuable addition to any backstage area. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Shioko Tarumi Chairman of the Board of Directors Shioko has been a longtime trusted person behind the scenes for many of Yamashi's operations. She knows the big guy means well when it comes to the ladies, but she's never taken his shit and Yamashi respects her for that. She's the one who hits him with the heaviest insults and he loves it. Shioko is a hard-nosed woman who won't shy away from dirty work and tough decisions, and that's why Yamashi has chosen her to be the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Yoshio Yamato Chief Financial Officer Enjoys golfing, but his real passion involves disguising himself as a woman and playing violin at random clubs around Tokyo. Who said finance majors were boring? Tokuma Izawa Chief Executive Officer Izawa has worked his way up the ladder in Yamashi's operations. He started at the bottom after moving from Nishinari, Osaka to Tokyo. Tokuma did small jobs for Yamashi before becoming a bodyguard. He might have gotten rid of a few people who fell on Yamashi's bad side. There's some naturally shifty vibes coming off this guy. Everyone might want to keep an eye on him. His voice in the boardroom leans towards the heel wrestlers. Sam Clerk Special Adviser Former RSW Promoter who took the storied promotion to greatness. He's been out of the wrestling business for many years and hasn't seen Japan in a long time. Sam spends retirement in Irvington-on-Hudson, New York – a suburb not too far from his childhood roots in The Bronx. He's a hit at the luxury boxes of Yankee Stadium and Madison Square Garden. Sam watches DTW from afar and is allowed to be involved as an adviser through the greatness of technology. Joey Clerk Special Adviser Controversial older brother to Sam Clerk. He wrestled RSW from Sam and is known for creating his own demise after intensive drug binges saw him lose all sense of decency, which led to a racial tirade during a press conference - a moment that cost him his promoter's license. However, Joey has a nose for violence and a track record of success. He's enjoyed retirement in Paris, where he converted to Judaism in 2010. Like his younger brother, he's able to assume a Special Adviser role through the greatness of technology. Alexis Clerk Special Adviser The youngest Clerk sibling and also a former RSW Promoter. She finds a balance between Sam's type of endearment and Joey's edge. Unlike her brothers, she's been involved with the wrestling business this whole time and still lives in Tokyo. Alexis was the head booker for a small-but-old joshi promotion, Empress, until she stepped down recently. Stuey Ungawa Special Adviser A self-professed gambler from Oklahoma whose purchase of RSW in 2007 shocked the world. Nobody knew anything about this Asian-American poker enthusiast. He was in over his head as an RSW Promoter even though the promotion continued to thrive. Ungawa cashed out while he was ahead, but the wrestling business wouldn't let him get away. First he attended small wrestling shows around Oklahoma and North Texas in his post-RSW life, and those places rolled out the carpet for him when they saw him approach the building. After years of working behind the scenes, Ungawa now knows what he's doing and is valuable to the DTW Board of Directors as he relocates back to Tokyo. Simon Island President of Dream Island Productions A very, very, very... very interesting man. The porn mogul and founder of Dream Island Productions, Simon Island, has always been a wrestling fanatic. His purchase of RSW shocked fans many years ago, and viewers were soon treated to his carefree attitude as he often appeared on television in nothing but an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt. Of course, a man like this fell into Goro Yamashi's inner circle, and he's become yet another former RSW Promoter who sits on the DTW Board of Directors. Eri Yamamoto President of Suji Manga LLC Former member of the RSW Board of Directors. She's still a total mark for wrestling after this whole time. The enthusiasm is appreciated. She's the most vocal in the boardroom when it comes to supporting the face wrestlers. Kaji Sato Managing Principal of Sun Wire Comics Inc. Former member of the RSW Board of Directors. Riverdance enthusiast. RINGSIDE PERSONALITIES Yo Kurasawa Play-By-Play Announcer Kurasawa is the elder statesman of puroresu. The legendary commentator became famous for his work in the notorious and insane Rising Sun Wrestling. His encyclopedic wrestling knowledge has endeared him to many, but he's turned off a lot of people with his open sexual deviance. Yo has still managed to maintain great respect in the world of professional wrestling. He is also the Vice President of Talent Relations in Iron Japan Pro Wrestling. Eric O'Flaherty Color Commentator Pro Wrestling's Rogue Manager and founder of the Ultraviolence Union. The young Minneapolis native was an admirer of RSW as a teenager. Now Eric has risen quickly through the ranks in pro wrestling and has gained a reputation as an expert hype man. He's managed some of the most violent men in the business, and he might have bias for the Union, but Eric's a fair analyst who strongly believes in Death Trip Wrestling as a whole. O'Flaherty graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in business management, but was “too working class” for the business student world. He's an avid drinker, smoker, and Minnesota sports fan (hockey in particular). Raka Matsumua Ring Announcer Raka is the sharpest-dressed man in the building! Always seen with his nice suits and trademark pork pie hat. His goatee is also a very distinguishing feature. Raka is an experienced ring announcer who brings an air of class and a big fight feel to every occasion. Whether it's the Tokyo Dome or the parking lot of a food market in Isehara, Raka is the man everyone wants to introduce them to the ring. BACKSTAGE PERSONALITIES “The Cat” Masa Inaba Interviewer Longtime interviewer who is best known for his work in Rising Sun Wrestling. He's naggy and often asks hard questions at the wrong times. Masa has been attacked by many wrestlers, and he's died many deaths at the hands of some of the most violent and temperamental individuals. That's how Masa earned his nickname - “The Cat.” Masa just keeps coming back for more. He's a very hard-headed and stubborn man, and he still refuses to change his approach to interviews. Rina Ibuka Interviewer One of Yamashi's former yacht girls and his personal favorite of all-time. He even paid for her breast enhancements. Of course, the ol' dog got big bowling balls for her chest. Rina graduated from the University of Tokyo and paid off her student loans by entertaining Yamashi. She was determined to make it in the financial world and left Goro's party scene. Unfortunately, those plans fell through and she didn't want to be a yacht girl forever. Yamashi found her a job as an interviewer, thinking her bubbly personality would make her a great hire. Turns out she's actually alright at this job, but of course, she's an easy target for some wrestlers to insult because of her past. “Samurai X” Misao Sakurai Interviewer, Radio Host, Jobber The man known as “Samurai X” is the host of Screams of the Samurai - the longest running English language wrestling radio show in Japan. He's known for his intimate interviews and understanding of wrestlers because, well, he is one. Misao has never been great, but he's known as a serviceable worker on the low end of the card and in dark matches. Wrestling fans around the world love him for his in-depth interviews, high-flying junior heavyweight style in the ring, and the passion he has for wrestling. THE REFEREES Ryu Nakamura Senior Official Former RSW official and longtime referee. Now he's finally a senior referee. Ryu has seen a lot of crazy shit, which means he's perfect for the bloodstained ring of Death Trip Wrestling. Kazuki Enari Another former RSW referee. Known for smoking cigarettes and wearing a white straw hat (with grosgrain band) during matches. Probably refereed a few monkey knife fights in international waters during his younger days. Akinori Watanabe Son of legendary referee Ken Watanabe. Kind of a dipshit, to be honest. Akinori is a decent referee, but not as pleasant of a person or as well-respected as his father. Miliko Sahashi DTW's lone female referee. She's competed in judo tournaments and won't let the wrestlers push her around. Edited by Ryan, Sep 5 2016, 03:26 AM.
