You know, I've gotta say that J.K's naming skills have deteriorated imo

I think it's rather that she's trying to capitalize on an already popular and established franchise which she has run out of ideas for, instead of focusing on newer material... eh. I was never an HP fan.

She wrote a crime novel under a pseudonym, which was well received, but didn't sell well. Then someone found out it was her. Sales spiked accordingly. Now there's apparently a couple of sequels.
The Casual Vacancy became a TV series.
But nothing has had the lasting popularity of Harry Potter, simply because it was so many people's Childhood Book, and more shockingly for a book directed primarily at the young, it was pretty well written. I had the impression she wanted to distance herself from Harry Potter, honestly, but the fanbase clamors desperately and incessantly at her, much like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes only to revive him 3 years later after intense public demand.

On a more topic-related note, Ravenclaw and 'Horned Serpent'. Knowing nothing about Ilvermorny, I can neither confirm nor deny the second.

Ah, I knew about her new book but I thought it hadn't fared well.
