Pirate speak, because yeah.
Fairly well, with lots of exciting developments happening! So for starters, the new private GM player map has been finished. A lot of people have been moved around to some degree, but it shouldn't change too much in the end. If you want to know where you're at, shoot me a PM! I recently downloaded GIMP, which is a beautiful tool for map editing. Currently a map showing which regions of the world correlate to fauna/flora from the real world is in the works. Later I plan on using gimp to edit the river systems some, but that's a low priority since the current world map does an okay enough job.
In terms of who GMs who, I have once again proven that I am a terrible control freak. Along with stealing Richard's kidneys and liver, I also stole the rights to Sigma's response writing again. Other things may change later, though in the end it probably won't change the grand scheme of things. Sometime before round 6 I will also be posting "Of Astrals and Primals," which will outline in detail the difference between Astral and Primal gods. It will also contain relevant information on if you want to remake your currently Astral god as a Primal god, since that wasn't an option when the game began. More deets on that later. The due date for Round 6 is a bit more in the air this time. I will try to wait for about 75% of the players to first post their update, as well as finish at least Nano's conversation and possibly Uru's, before I begin writing responses. However, once that point has been reached, you have until I post Round 6 to get your update in before having to wait for a part time update. So if you haven't posted already this may be something to keep in mind. It should be coming up soon though. And in other news for things outside of Round 6, I think it would be really cool to see a bit of an encyclopedia/wiki type thing pop up for Deus Plani. Something akin to the Encyclopediae for Apotheosis, but as a driven community effort to keep it updated. It would also be awesome to see another power ranking like the one Archie made a little while back. I can make new sections of the forum, but something similar to what we have for the Character Bestiary is what I had in mind. As I briefly mentioned in the OOC discussion, a good friend of mine who has an associates in art is doing some concept art for NPCs in Deus Plani. They've been turning out really well, and I'll see if I can't post some of them possibly tomorrow or Friday -at least the ones that have been encountered so far.- Things are really looking promising, and she's hoping to get a start in building an online audience through this type of thing. And again, if things go well and you guys are willing, I can probably ask her to do pieces of the player characters too. And on the note of player characters, I think it will be about time to set up a summer contest of sorts. Something to help fill up the Encyclopedia with supplementary art, as well as perhaps give more stories to fill up the world a bit more. Possibly even to design NPCs that can be encountered. The reward will be the same as the Hidden Douglasses- of which a new round has been started. I think there would be at least 2 categories: art, short story, and possibly a third for NPC. Art would likely be just what it sounds like on the tin: pieces depicting player and non-player characters as well as events that have happened so far. Short stories would probably be something similar to what was seen in Project Hypotheosis, and would serve to give the world some more depth and possibly additional cannon. NPCs might be included for players to have another way of leaving their mark on the world, though I'm still not sure how well this one would work in. At the end of the contests members would take votes on their favorites from the categories, and the players with the most votes would get to see their responses early for the current and next round. But I post this here because I want to hear you guys' feedback on this. Do you like or dislike this idea? And finally, on the note of feedback, any that you have on the site or game in general would be extremely valuable to me. I really want to maintain Deus Plani as being fun and enjoyable for everyone, so if you have any tips or comments that might help make that possible I'd be happy to hear it. Especially anyone that has been in an encounter/conversation -especially with these last few I feel like I've dragged them out too long. |

@Torac: Nah, I needed to write it. I just chose to be much more informal with this one than I have in the past. Anyway, so in terms of things that may be different in the future, I'm going to start including what season a player is in at the start of their response. It will be housed up top along with their worshipers and power. On that note, I may also start including how long they've been around for. I know having that information at a glance would help me, and I thought you guys might appreciate it too. If there's any more "at glance" information you'd like me to start including I'd love to hear it. Though I would still really appreciate it if players could include a blank line in between each paragraph, I don't think I'm going to make it madatory to include a summary at the bottom of each update. Though any details you include I'll make sure I keep hardcore focus on in your responses, I usually wind up making a summary of my own to go along with it. That said, as someone who read through all of the Apotheosis archive like twice, a detailed summary is very helpful for anyone going through later trying to read. As soon as I finish "Of Astrals and Primals," which admittedly I've barely started, I will begin writing responses for Round 6. With 17 players 75% player submissions will be at 12 updates. So far there are 7 updates. |

I suppose that the summaries will be asked when the text is very long? Or are we all going to be making update summaries from now on? So, what will the seasons be for and how will they affect gameplay? Would a current area of influence of each player on a map be of any help? Edited by T0r4c, Jun 2 2015, 06:51 AM.

But that's not me. I'm still perfectly alive. I apologize for my absence of late. I've had some stuff going on in IRL land, and on top of that ARK is a fantastic world to get lost in. But, I'mma really try to work on Deus Plani more here over the next two weeks. That said, I'm wanting to have round 6 up no later than June 26. Round 5 was up May 15, so in total that will have been about a month and a half in between, which seems like a reasonable amount of time for everyone who's going to write to get their update in. That said, I understand that it is final season in Europe Land, and as always if you can't make round 5 you'll for sure get a spot special half time response in Round 6. Oh yeah, Richard won the hidden douglass challenge for set 2, so he will get to see his responses for Rounds 5 and 6 early. Ramen still gets to see his round 5 response early as well. Because I'm running out of room to hide them, I do not think there will be a hidden douglass challenge for Round 6, unless you guys want one. Apart from that there isn't too much else to cover that I know of. Though there may or may not be other hidden lore gems floating around the website somewhere. As always, if you guys have any feedback or thoughts, I'd love to hear it. |

Ooops, ignored some questions last time. Better late than never I suppose. 1) Summaries never hurt. However, as I read and subsequently re-read updates I make a summary of my own, so ultimately they are un-needed by the original poster. That said, if there are certain details you want me to specifically address in the response, I will be certain to include them if they are in a summary. I try to get as many details as I can think of in each response, hence their lengthyness, but from time to time I do miss something, or chalk something off as having a low enough impact to forgo mentioning it. 2) Seasons are mostly going to be relevent now during the early game. Since players are having to micromanage things at the moment it may be important for them to know what season they're in. You don't want to tell your people to attempt farming during the dead of winter. Bad things will happen. Later, after a player has established a pattern on how they want to handle things, larger swaths of time will start passing in between rounds for them. This way their people actually have a chance to advance and grow. At this point, assuming they've already addressed how to handle differences in seasons, the exact season will be of less relevence. 3) This much will be handled a bit like Apotheosis. I have a master map, and I think I've shared parts of it with Riley and Richard... Yeah I'm kind of failing at that :p . Anyway, if nothing else I can PM a player their territory boundaries and locations, but it isn't known to everyone unless the player chooses to share it. This way as you expand you get more of a sense of discovery as you run into other players. Plus I personally would love to see wars break out later over territory disputes, and having an official "THIS IS WHERE YOU ARE" might get in the way of that. In light of recent events, I have started making a backup of all the player updates. I've had the official responses saved, but now I'm expanding that to the stuff you guys write too. However, that said, in the unfortunate event that Deus Plani is ever hacked/taken down, I will try to post news about what's going on in the Apotheosis, Speculative Evolution, and Genome Incorporated forums, as well as on the Skype chat. Lets hope that never happens though. http://w11.zetaboards.com/Apotheosis_RP/index/ http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/index/ http://z9.invisionfree.com/Genome_Incorporated/index.php?act=idx And finally, I have recently learned that you guys would prefer not having direct analogues to actual religions of earth in Deus Plani, but rather things that are completely new or only slightly based on them. This is great to know, and I will plan things accordingly. Thanks for the feedback! Edited by Oyster Man, Jun 20 2015, 11:04 PM.

Hey guys! So bit of a short update here, but unfortunately I will not be able to get round 6 up by the 25 (tomorrow). That said, it shouldn't take me too much longer, so I'd say we can expect it within the week. : ) Apart from that, though it's not finished of course, I will be posting the first part of "of Astrals and Primals." So far it just outlines what the primals are, but in time it'll include astrals as well, and highlight the differences between the two. So that's cool Finally, of the three people selected for world events, only one of you has actually posted or sent a summary. If all three of you post before the round I'll share who all got selected. Otherwise I guess it'll be a surprise. >:D On another note, Uru and Scott have been working on RPs of their own that you should go check out. The Political Intrigue Game is a dark low-fatasy world that is reminiscent of Game of Thrones. Totally go all Lannister and try to assassinate Bran Stark, and watch the world burn! It is however a WIP, but Uru thinks it should be playable in about a month. Fenwrath Champions on the other hand is more of a fantasy/dnd styled "God Amongst Men" game. So far it's been a lot of fun, with excelent role play opprotunities. Edited by Oyster Man, Jun 24 2015, 10:25 PM.

Hey guys, So slowly but surely I've been working on Round 6. I've been able to average at least one response a day, but for whatever reason I'm really struggling to get more than that. It's strange. :/ However, if I can keep this rate up we should see round 6 posted on no later than the third. Again, no promises on this though. Though I would like to take this time to apologize on how long things have taken me. |

Hey guys, It's you're favorite GM who posts just a little too much. Like, not even joking, I have three times as many posts as anyone else. And like so many of those other posts, I regret to inform you guys that I do not think I'll have the Round 6 up on the 3rd after all. There was like an earthquake, and a tsunami, and I procrastinated, and then Tiamat invaded Crete and my family died. However, later tonight I may have a little surprise for you guys none the less. |
