I love the part at the end of Oyster's message. He was so thoughtful including my hatred of the holiday season.

Let me just begin by saying

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEUS PLANI!

I opened the forum to public access on January 16th, 2015. T0R4C was the first other member to join and post his deity.

Wow, it's been a crazy year. For me I know there have been a lot of ups and downs, but I know that one thing I've been super happy about is having Deus Plani. Maybe that's a bit vain of me, but I'm really glad I get to play this game with you guys, and that together we get to craft and fill this world.

I know things have been slow, before last semester started I promised we would have Round 8 up, and here it is almost half a year later and we're still on Round 7, and for that I do want to apologize, but for all of you guys who are left I want to give a tremendous thank you. At one point we had 17 people, now we're at more of a 9-12ish, and I think it says something really cool that you guys are still here. There's really not a day that goes by that I don't think about Deus Plani, about the little adventures and stories I want to write with you guys, and I really appreciate that you've stuck around with me for this long even when things aren't completely smooth sailing.

And for a while there, I actually thought Deus Plani might be coming to an end. Suffice to say I had a lot of really tough things going on in my life, what with school and some more personal things, and I just didn't know if I had the time, or really even the will to put the work into Deus Plani. But, and again maybe this is vain of me, I thought back to Apotheosis, and specifically how much I loved playing the Grinding, and how much it sucked when that game died. And I mean this as no hate to Dial by the way, dude has school and what not going on, and things happen that make hosting these kind of games hard, but it's something I didn't want to do to you guys.

Maybe its vain of me to think that you guys could think this game is as good as Apotheosis, but I know at least a few of you have put a lot of work into your deities, and that you have a lot of plans for things you want to do. Quite simply, I didn't want to make all that work mean nothing. And that's why, even when its hard to get the next round up, and even when I have to put a lot of work into Deus Plani, its hugely rewarding. I get to see all the amazing things you guys come up with, plus its kind of cool to be able to interact with it with my own ideas.

Anyway, guys, it's been a pleasure to game with you this year. May this upcoming year be just as good, or even better!
Oh, and Happy Birthday Mr.Hands!

Quit yer gushin, Oyster! Gimme the news!
Right, so technichally we have twelve people still playing, though in actuality I think it's a bit closer to nine or ten. Seven people have updated, and on top of that its been a month and two weeksish since Round 7 got posted, so I think I'm going to set a safe deadline for two months from the Round 7 launch, on January 27th. That gives everyone almost a week and a half to get their updates in to be included in Round 8. Past that you're at my mercy of when I get all the responses written.

Which being honest, probably means you have like another month before you need to be worried about not getting a response in Round 8. Haha #amirite #imrite #selfdefeatism #cryingontheinside #feelmyiqgoingdown %#

BUT, I'm actually feeling pretty good about things. We shall see where this goes!

Thank you, Oyster, that means a lot! It's been very enjoyable to have had Deus Plani around for this long, and I look forward to seeing what this year will bring.
Happy birthday to you, too, Mr.Hands!

So life has been crazy. I sort of got rear ended, which totaled my new car. RIP Artanis.

That said, though I'm a bit dusty, and need to get back on the horse, I'm gonna try to finish hammering out Round 8 by the 16th.

I don't want to say to much about the future, but some things have come up that I need to address. Basically even though everyone is a good they're all pretty weak, which gets a bit stale after a year. However, as everyone had established who their good is it gives me an idea on how things would progress over time, and things should start really speeding up in that sense. Don't want to give too much away, but by round 9 or 10 we should see the first primitive cities appear.
Perhaps even sooner.

Also, after world events comes a global event.

Hurgle lurg. Have you started any work on storm spirit thing, Oyster? I am split 50/50 on returning my loyalty to Last Parent, so if you've done any work on it, that'd tip it over to Primalsy since it's rude to mess people around. :P

Ah, I figured you were doubling. Would Last Parent remain as an NPC if dropped?

Yeah, 'twould indeed. Doubling is generally a Very Bad Thing to allow when only one or a few guys can do replies.

Just so you get a chance to see it:

In response to your question in the status topic, I actually have not gotten to either Last Parent or your un-named primal. However, and I'm a bit uncertain if I fully want to do it and how it will work exactly, I am considering allowing players to have multiple gods. Basically you'd have your primary, and then secondaries.

A secondary god would be somewhat like playing an NPC. You can still do what you want with it, though I would prioritize other player's priority god's interests. Likewise, responses to it would likely have less flair and be more bare bones. I likely also would not put as much time into developing fun plot things for it to encounter.

But like I said, I'm still not sure if this is something I want to do, and how exactly I'll implement it.

Found something out in my archaeology class the other day. Well lots of things, but the big kicker that has an effect on the game so far is:

Apparently pottery didn't really start popping up until you had sedentary people. Parts of China had it as early as 20,000 years ago, with the America's not getting it much until as recently as 2,000 years ago.

For the most part this shouldn't affect people too much, but I think therefore that the only player who currently has pottery will now be Apparatus.
