This was not how things were supposed to go. A year ago Millie had everything figured out, she would move to Wento to join the greatest guild in the world and become a hero and someone her family back home would be proud of. It all started out well but soon after took a turn for the worst. The young girl was ready to give up and go back to the comfort of her old life with her parents. Millie was ready to go home, and she would have gone by herself if she knew she had control over her outbursts, but there was still a fear inside of her that told her she shouldn't go alone, in case she were to lose control and hurt someone else. She specifically waited for a time when Xauru had been away from the guild, knowing very well he would do his best to convince her to stay. So while he was gone she put in her own request to the guild for help to get across the continent. |

The guild hall was fairly quiet it was one of those days where most of the members were out doing something or jobs. The leader was out on a certain mission, tracking down a trouble maker and trying to bring him to his senses… This was just another case of brats wanting to be big, or so Synthia thought. The young woman with a black motif was sat near the entrance of the guild with a backpack beside her, her messy black hair sitting on her shoulders as she kept her dark eyes on the door waiting for Millie, the girl who was asking for a bodyguard to take her home… to the far side of the continent. Syn didn’t have much to do, and she couldn’t get big jobs on her own because she didn’t have the same stature some of the members did and was denied… this was just a stepping stone to something greater. “My oh my, this is a long wait.” The blinker said as she played with the shiny golden ankh that was dangling by her chest. “We’ll be late for the train!” she called out, letting the echo come back to her in the virtually empty guild hall. |

Millie took one last look at her room, her home for the past year, before shutting the door behind her for the last time. She let out a soft sigh and nodded to herself, securing her backpack over her shoulders and heading for the stairs. She heard someone yelling from the guild hall, not realizing how late she must have been already, she quickly grabbed a piece of toast from the kitchen, popping it in her mouth and running towards the front door where she would meet her hired guard. "I-I'm sorry I'm late!" She spoke loudly, bowing apologetically at the person waiting for her and panting slightly from the rush to get up there. "My name is Millie Poffenberger, it is a pleasure to meet you!" The younger girl stuck her hand out in greeting and smiled at the woman who was only just barely taller than she was. |

The voice of her client shouted back down making Syn laugh as she looked over her shoulder to see the young Millie coming down to the hall. “Hey, pleasure to meet you as well. I am Synthia Mal-Nura. I specialise in short range teleportation magic and will be your body guard getting you home.” The woman said, rattling off what she does best to her technical employer. “Have you got everything? Because we are going to miss the train if we are here any longer.” The woman said with a sly smile, leaning over and hoisting her backpack up to her shoulder with one hand and resting her other hand on the sword. It didn’t take long for the woman in black to spin on her heel and start to walk to the door. “So why are you leaving?” she asked rather bluntly. |

Millie quickly went over everything she had packed in her head and nodded with a smile. "I think so..." she pondered, wondering if there might have possibly been something missing now that she mentioned it. But there was no time for that now, they had a train to catch. They made their way out of the guild building, as they headed for the train, Millie wouldn't dare look back now. She was fantasizing about her home town, and seeing her parents again when Syn asked her why she was leaving. Millie had gone over the reasons in her head over and over again, but was afraid that if she spoke them out loud that she might breakout into tears, so instead she tried to brush off the subject. "It's a long story." She giggled nervously, scratching behind her ear as they continued their short walk to the train station. The women made their way to the station just in time to buy the tickets as the train arrived to the platform. "NOW BOARDING FOR H'GALLTHURMAG" |

"You think so?" The woman asked as she walked through the train station looking for the platform that they needed to be at and leading the younger woman along. "Try me kid, i'm nothing but one long story" She quipped noticing the train. "You go and get a seat, i will catch up in a second. i wanna grab a coffee." The woman said splitting off from Millie for a moment and heading to a barrister that was hand making drinks. "Triple strength please, large and to go." She said, her only reply was a nod and the man turned and started to process of making a drink... it was not that the whistle was starting to blow for their train. "Thanks." The woman said as a coffee was placed into her hand and took the money that was coming out of her other one. "Sweet, the train has already set off!" Synthia quickly turned around and sprinted towards the leaving train, running along side it laughing away the entire time "Looks like i missed the Train Millie!" She shouted over before laughing. "Boop!" And with that there was a small dark poof of energy and she was not running along side the train that was gaining speed. No... she was on top of it. After a moment she leaned down and looked at Millie and grinned "Forgot i could do that." |

Millie wondered how she could even begin the long story that was the last year of her life, already headed for a seat on the far end of the train car, but before she could start, the her bodyguard had left to grab a coffee from the station barrister. "w-wait... but there isn't time!" "FINAL BOARDING CALL" Millie panicked, she was about to leave the one person she needed most right now behind at the station. "WAIT!!" she ran for the door just to have it shut in her face. She was angry and upset, her cheeks puffed out in frustration, tears of anger welling to the surface as she accepted her fate and started thinking of what she should do next. She found her seat and looked out the window just in time for the woman in black to pop up outside of her window, earning a loud yelp of surprise out of Millie as she fell out of her seat, her eyes wide in disbelief. "O-oh my goodness...." she mumbled to herself as she picked herself up off of the floor and tried to calm her heartbeat. |

The raven haired woman laughed heartily as she disappeared in a black haze of smoke and appeared next to her client with a faint pop. "Hahaha. Oh that was the best reaction yet! I did that to my second husband when airships came to town and he lost it. Said the kids thought I died." She explained, eluding to a fact that there was more to her than meets the eye. "Come on kid, it's a long ride so let's get a seat and swap stories." Synthia explained still with a wide smile on her face as she moved to walk down the train the bedroom compartment. "Best I could get was a shared room so we will have to bunk together." |

"H-how did you do that?" Millie stared in shock, her face turning to a pout, her cheeks flushed pink as the other woman just laughed. This woman Millie had just met seemed to have a lot of interesting facts about her. Millie's head tilted slightly in confusion as she mentioned a second husband and children. She certainly couldn't be old enough to have had two husbands and children already? They made their way through the moving train to their shared room, Millie's ears twitching as she fidgeted, wondering where she should start, and wondering if there were things maybe she should leave out, instead deciding to try and change the subject. "H-have you ever been to Sirius before?" |

"It's my magic sweety." The woman noted as she sat down and stretched out, placing her bag down on the bunk she had sat on. "Nope, i heard it is a nice place." Syn commented, noticing the change in topic and letting her sly smile show. "This coffee is good~" The black haired woman made notice after she took a sip of it. leaning back to to press her back to the wall the woman now had her eyes locked on Millie. "I am pretty sure it'll be a quiet journey on the trains." |

"Ah! You are going to love it! There are farm fields and fields of grass as far as you can see, and the sky is so open and beautiful! Especially at night, the colorful Auroroboro... Aurora Borea-- n-northern lights are amazing!" Millie rambled, blushing slightly as she fumbled over the last couple of words. Millie made a questionable face at the coffee being good, she had never been a fan of coffee, it always tastes so bitter, she thought. Syn made mention of the train trip being a quiet one, to which Millie frowned slight. "S-sorry you can sleep if you'd like, I don't mind, I'll be quiet!" |

"Sleep? My job is to keep an eye on you sweety. I need to be awake to do that. Why do you think I got this coffee?" Syn asked in reply a playful smile spread across her face. "I've see the araura boreialis a few times. I went as far north as I could with my first husband." The go thick woman noted as she looked out the window to see the city they were leaving turning to suburbs and homes for richer people. |

Millie scratched the back of her head and smiled sheepishly. "R-right... sorry" She was still not used to being the protected rather than the protector in a mission, though she supposed she should probably get used to it if they were going to be on this long trip together. The bear girl had not slept particularly very well since the incident, she tried to think of things to talk about other than herself, but as she did, she couldn't help but doze off slightly at the rhythmic sounds of the train over the tracks. Millie's head fell slightly to the side, waking her up from her brief slumber. She looked around, slightly dazed, remembering she was in the presence of a new friend and went wide eyes, blushing slightly and frowning. Apologizing once again. "I-I'm sorry" |
