In light of bad weather incoming, a group has been sent out to reach out to the Regulus Camp (and perhaps any other friendly digimon communities out there) to see if they would like to assist with Oracle's housing and in turn offer them shelter within or nearby Oracle.

And in light of promises made, this was also a perfect time for Izuna and Silvermane to first have the promised spar.

And so, the group arrives at Regulus's gate, and Silvermane was already at the entrance, checking up on the camp surroundings.

"Well now, familiar faces and a few new ones! What brings you here today?" He greeted heartily, and there was a glint in his eye as he recognized Izuna in the crowd.

Seraph and NPC will take care of the promised Spar from the Previous Mission, and once that is wrapped up a normal posting order will resume. Other characters are free to make observation posts until then.

With the threat of bad weather and a raised danger level looming Izuna had gone directly to Wayne and asked if they could return to Camp Regulus and call for aid. Now that they had formalized their trade agreement and alliance it was as good a time as any to start cooperating. Now that he was standing face to face with Silvermane again he wondered if there really was anything Oracle could offer outside of their Great Forge. The forge at Camp Regulus was of a top quality but it was common knowledge that Old Man Schultz ran one of the greatest forges around. It was a perfect place for the leomon to gear up for the coming storm.

There was also the matter of his and Silvermane's promised spar. He'd be lying if he said that that wasn't his ulterior motive for returning. Still, business first then pleasure. Izuna cleared his throat, "We've come with a missive from Oracle Silvermane. In light of the changing weather we want to refurbish the village and help bolster its defenses. We were hoping that the Leomon of Camp Regulus would aid us in helping us build and hunt for supplies." Izuna kept a very eased tone through his summation of their request. It was something he had practiced to make sure he wouldn't screw up.

With that said though he loosened up and breathed a sigh of relief, "I'd also like it, if you aren't busy today, if we could have that spar as well."

At the mention of weather, Silvermane nodded. "Quite so. The air has developed a chill in it. We have been concerned about it ourselves. I'm sure Boss White would like to work out a plan for us and our friends..." He swept his arms in a inclusive manner to indicate the village and the team of tamers before him as "us and friends" before continuing: "However, Boss White is not here right now. He had sent message to us that he would be back this afternoon, as he was taking care of some personal business at Oracle. So, with that said..."

The grapleomon took half a step to the side to let them in further into the village, where there was a good clearing perfect for sparring. "This would be the perfect time to bring some fire into our bodies as we wait for his return. We shall have our spar on even ground then, my friend. Nothing but a good 'ol scuffle can highlight the day!"

A smile crept across Izuna's face when Boss White was mentioned to have left on business. With the need to pass the time that meant that his request for a spar would come true. Sure enough Silvermane eagerly agreed that the time was now. They could warm themselves up by pitting their fists against one another. While it was a spar, thus meaning that the stakes were low and the atmosphere friendly, Izuna had no doubt that both of them would show the utmost respect by going all out. It'd been awhile since he had. Most threats to Oracle didn't require Silver Cross's intervention so it'd be a long long time since he had any real opponents. His body ached for a test of combat. That's why his training had stagnated. He not only had no one to teach him but there wasn't anyone in the village not on the Black Sword team who could go fist to fist with him. Thus a rut was formed.

That would end here today.

Izuna nodded in silently approval of Silvermane's idea and choice of location. Izuna followed him over to where there was a large open space in the village purposefully set up for sparring between the Leomon inhabitants. It was only natural for them to have such a place. Izuna was honored to be using it. He took a deep breath. "Thank you for accepting Silvermane. I hope to live up to Boss White's evaluation of me. If I can even measure up to 10% of your strength I'll be happy. I wont dishonor you by holding back so..." Izuna reached down to his feet and unclasped the weights on his ankles. They fell back with a profound thud. They must have weighted, at the minimum, 100lbs to make such a heavy sound when hitting the ground. He then did the same for his weighted gloves. They made the same loud smack when they hit the ground, kicking up dust. Underneath the gloves Izuna's hands were tapped and bandaged up showing that he took proper precautions when fighting. He then, finally, unzipped his vest and let it fall. When it hit the ground it kicked up a massive amount of dust and the sound it made reverberated through the air. There was no telling how much it actually weighed but it had to be high into the triple digits to not just kick up that much dust, but as the dust settled, to crack and sink into the ground like it had.

Izuna tapped a few buttons on his diginav and the storage program turned on, zapping his weighted clothing and storing them before spitting back a pair of gloves similar to his weighted ones but without the weights. He put them on then took his diginav off and stored it in his pocked. Izuna performed a few stretches to get use to how his body felt without the excess weight on it. He felt light like feather. It felt good.

"Alright Silvermane, whenever you're ready we can begin."

The lion grinned as he watched the boy do his prep work. Yes, the atmosphere was just right. The understanding of where they stood put him in a good mood. Silvermane was not one to ever look down on an opponent, but knowing that his opponent was more than meets the eye was refreshing.

Silvermane took his position across from Izuna, six paces away...probably seven paces for Izuna as the grapleomon had a longer stride. Taking a relaxed stance first, he made sure the slow-spinning turbines came to a complete stop. "These can get lethal. There's no need for them in this match." He explained. "But yes...let us commence!"

Deciding it appropriate to start off strong and get the blood moving, the grapleomon started off with a strong forward dash, swooping low and aiming at the ground of his opponent's feet in order to get a good gauge of Izuna's speed. Those weights weren't for show, after all.

Silvermane stopped his turbines knowing how lethal they'd be on human flesh. Izuna was made of sterner stuff but even a hit from one of those would probably turn him into gooey paste. With the prefight formalities out the way they could begin in earnest. Boy did Silvermane begin. The lion digimon was fast despite his size. Izuna could feel the ground shake from the power of the digimon's strides. He went for a low sweep to test the waters. Izuna reacted quickly, with his weights gone his movements were no longer sealed by their mass. Kicking off the ground, Izuna leaped over the attack and responded with a punishing kick aimed at the lion digimon's midsection. Izuna's blood was on fire for the first time in a long time. It felt good.

Nimble. Just as Silvermane thought. And quick to counter instead of just moving away.

Of course, no seasoned fighter was about to take a blow within the first few seconds of a fight. As Izuna's foot came rushing towards his midsection, Silvermane worked his muscles in the right leg that was stepped forward to use as a pivoting point, and shifted his left foot back in a sweeping arc in order to turn his body away from the kick. In the process, he straighten up just enough to pull his left arm back, and pushed forward an open-palmed hit, aiming towards Izuna's torso as a response to put several paces of distance between them by pushing the boy away with a firm force, and to see how he would react to the potential of losing his footing.

Silvermane was a seasoned fighter so there was no way Izuna's attack was going to connect. Izuna was taking measure of the digimon's reaction time just as he had done for him. Izuna tightened up to deaden the incoming blow. He didn't expect just how much pressure the digimon could exert, however, and was sent back. At the moment Izuna's feet reconnected with the ground however there was a brief flash, a glint, of something strange manifesting around him. For a split second the Regulus badge pinned to his shirt seemed to almost shine with light before it went dark again. It was too quick for Izuna to notice but with his veteran eyes Silvermane could surely take notice.

Izuna took a deep breath and relaxed his muscles. It was time to get a little serious. They had taken each other's measure so the opening formalities were done. It was time to get real. Izuna kicked off the ground and covered the distance between he and Silvermane startlingly quick. Izuna moved more like a digimon than a human. His movements were precise, fast, and practiced. Someone taught this boy how to fight like the digimon who practiced the combat arts did. Izuna attacked with a striking blow in the shape of a claw; a claw swipe. It wasn't something that human martial arts taught but a move that was from the digimon's repertoire of attacks.

For the second time a brief glow appeared around Izuna. For a second time, he didn't notice. The aura wound its way around his body to his hand adding force to his attack.

The corner of Silvermane's mouth curled up a little as he recognized that glint. Boss White wasn't wrong...the heart a lion indeed. One that can be seasoned over time to become stronger.

Upon Izuna's next attack, Silvermane took a defensive stance, and felt the impact of something similar to claws against his inert turbines. It appears that the aura was beginning to reflect the boy's battle-intentions, and even if the claws were not honed sharp, the added aura put more effectiveness into his strike.

Silvermane then took half a step back, and knowing now that Izuna was well-equipped, he began to unleash a fast barrage of fists at the boy.

Izuna's attack hit true. He felt the weight of his own blow with his entire body. Izuna was strong thanks to his strength training. If that attack had been against another human it probably would have shattered bones. Indeed, when he fought Razor, the strongest human in Oracle, the man suffered broken ribs at the hands of Izuna. Silvermane was stronger than a human though. To him those kinds of hits were as good as love taps; and that's what made him the perfect sparring partner. Izuna was too strong to really to just spar with humans. If he fought with Razor or Wayne they'd have to treat every attack as a serious threat. Here there was no danger to Silvermane. They were free to relax and have the time of their lives.

That didn't mean the silver haired lion was going to go easy on him, quite the contrary. Izuna wouldn't have it any other way though. He wanted to feel the lion's strength in his bones. To know the weight of every punch and properly learn how to hone his own to match. Izuna didn't even bother to guard against the flurry of punches. However something did. That glow from before flared at every point of impact. Izuna was still too caught up in the revelry of the spar to notice that something was going on with his body. Each hit pushed Izuna a little further back and set shockwaves down his spine. He could feel Silvermane's power despite how much he held back. This was true strength. The strength he had to emulate in order to further his training.

Now that he knew he could truly start to fight in earnest. After the onslaught of blows Izuna stood, undaunted. With a smile he arched back and let out a kiai, a roar like a lion, to center himself. At that moment, then, finally, Izuna noticed. The glow and flared into an aura around his body and became stable. A light azure glow in the outline of a leomon like digimon. "Wh-what is this? I feel... strange. Stronger, more full of life... did Boss White know this would happen? Is that why he said I had the heart of lion?" Izuna questioned. This was a spar though. There wasn't any time to just talk. This was the time to fight. They could chat and throw punches at the same time.

Izuna rushed forward and launched into a series of machinegun like punches, emulating the attack Silvermane used against him just moments ago.

Silvermane followed up each punch with the palms of his hands, catching each hit, feeling the strength behind them. "The Regulus Badge is a symbol and an amplifier of one's inner strength, a token that can react differently from person to person. I am glad that it suits you well!" That said, right when Izuna's series of attacks ended, Silvermane hopped back by half a pace to shift his stance and leapt up, rotating his body to perform a solid kick with with his outer shin.

An amplifier of one's inner strength huh? Everyone on that mission got one. Were the lion's testing them to see which one of them reacted to the badge? If so he apparently passed the test. He'd have to live up to their expectations. No more words needed to be said. Izuna gave a smile and a nod of acknowledgement as he intercepted Silvermane's kick with his forearm. He felt the sheer weight of the attack nearly knock him off balance but the boy dug in and grit his teeth. He wouldn't be knocked back by this attack anymore. Now was the time to go on the offensive. Izuna put his weight into the block and pushed Silvermane's leg downward before springing forward and unleashing a powerful rising jab at his sparring partner's midsection.

Silvermane did not have enough time to readjust his position and dodge the incoming jab. Of course, being of larger stature and hardier build, the jab was only painful and not serious enough to cause lasting problem. There was no such thing as a good spar without a few bruises, after all. The hit did not phase him, and he quickly pushed back to regain his footing, still within arm's length of Izuna, and aimed a firm karate-chop towards his right shoulder.

Izuna's strike hit true on the part of Silvermane's body that wasn't protected by armor, "Gotcha" Izuna said playfully. That was before Silvermane dropped the metaphorical hammer on his right shoulder. The karate chop carried quite a bit of power behind it. Against anyone not Izuna that would have probably dislocated something. Izuna was not your average squishy human. For one thing he had fought against champion level digimon in a squad of his fellows since he was eight. He had been training to fight since he was five. That didn't mean, however, that the blow didn't hurt like hell nor did it mean Izuna didn't recoil from the shock. He almost bit his tongue from the sheer heft of the strike.

For the first time Silvermane got Izuna to back off a few paces. Which was to say, Izuna backed off only long enough to shake it off before getting back in there. He was having fun and he could tell Silvermane was too. Now though he was curious about something, "Is there a way to control it? The power of the Regulus Badge I mean? What is this power called anyway?" Izuna said through a serious of punches and kicks he threw Silvermane's way.

While both dodging a good amount and intercepting some of his attacks, Silvermane answered: "The badge embodies a certain amount of power that is similar to the tribe's symbolic attack...the Fist of the Beast King. It's called the 'King's Life Force.'" In between the conversation, he intercepted one of Izuna's kicks and attempted to flip him back. Continuing from there, he said: "How you use it and how it will develop will be up to you and your heart, my boy."

Izuna understood now what the badge embodied. It was his own will made manifest through the manifestation of the Leomon's Fist of the Beast King. The King's Life Force fed off of his own and gave it strength. In order to control it he had to become stronger himself. It would naturally strengthen itself then. It wasn't entirely dissimilar to Noire's Ion Shell technique. The Ion Shell fed low output electrical current into the body in order to forcefully blast open the stopgates on the body's natural inhibitors. It also made the muscles work harder for less energy. Due to that human use of the technique was risky. It took someone like himself or Razor to handle it. Someone who dedicated themselves utterly to honing their body. Not only was the strain of the technique itself tremendous but also the aftermaththat came when it ended. At that point 15% or so of the damage dealt during the technique was sent back as "feedback" to the user. That and the sheer pain and fatigue that came from working your body beyond the limits made the Ion Shell a double edged sword.

If he could hone the King's Life Force it could be used as a barrier to both protect against the Ion Shell but also an amplifier for the technique. Wouldn't that be something? Better yet, he could hone it to the point that it matched or surpassed the Ion Shell. That would allow him to fight even longer without the nasty drawbacks. It was worth striving for on both accounts.

Izuna was launched back after his flurry of attacks but remained undaunted. A new resolve burned in his eyes. He made the right choice. "When I asked to spar with you it was because I wanted to confirm something. I was right. You would be the perfect person to continue where my father, Karma, left off. If you were fine with that Silvermane?"

This time, it was a chance for fists to meet fists. Silvermane can see that the aura will aid Izuna well...and indeed, what better way for the boy to learn of its power through the Tribe? While the power of the King's Life Force can be interpreted in many ways, if Izuna wanted to tailor his aura more in its traditional path and immerse himself in the Regulus Tribe's spirit, then this would be a good investment for both him and Silvermane. Boss White would also be pleased at the growing relations they will be establishing with Oracle and Humanity.

"That is an honor I would gladly accept!" Silvermane answered heartily as he met punches with punches.

"Then I look forward to your teachings Master Silvermane" Izuna cheerily said with the biggest smile on his face. Something deep inside him though told him he should conclude their spar in the proper way. Maybe it was the look inside Silvermane's eyes or maybe there some just something instinctual ingrained into Izuna's psyche whatever the case was Izuna willed the aura around his body to congregate around his right fist before throwing a heavy punch into Silvermane's. Almost without thinking, like it was nature to him, he called, "Fist of the Beast King!"

Even though the human output for that attack is not on the same level as that of a Leomon's, it is a step forward in a direction that will come to mean a lot to both human and digimon.

Silvermane put in all the effort without using his turbines to make sure he can cross with that blow and measure its strength. The resulting encounter caused the aura to flare brightly and scatter, the release of engery akin to an explosion that made the air rush out in a radius about the field, carrying dust out in a ring.

Silvermane smiled down at Izuna. It appears that there is mutual agreement that good things will come from this development.

Pause for the arrival of Boss White as separate NPC for the next step of this thread! : D

The sound of footsteps approached as the spar was coming to an end, and they were followed by familiar faces. Yuki approached with Razor in tow. Both of them were covered in bruises and welts, as well as a few stray cuts here and there.

"Pack it up everyone,we're moving!" Yuki exclaimed before noting the spar taking place. That boys full of fire as ever. He said boisterously. Razor let out an exasperated sigh:“He can be a handful, that’s for sure.” Razor then approached Al and placed his hand on the boy’s shoulder. “How are you holding up?” He asked calmly.

Posting order will now be Al, Izuna, and then NPCs.
