Spirit Digivolution is the ability for any Digital Life Form (DLF) or a human to inherit the spirit of another digital life form that is no longer in the living world, and utilize their abilities. In canon digimon shows and information, no matter who utilizes that spirit, if they are able to use that spirit, they will always become that exact digimon. Spirits also come in Human-Spirit and Beast-Spirit types, and can be utilized together to form a complete and more powerful being.

In LinK, Spirit Digivolution is achieved through the Inherit App and from Spirits, and can achieve either champion or ultimate power levels depending on the type of Spirit used, thus increasing the power of the user. Digimon power is measured in “Power Datum” and the average for each stage are as listed:

  • Fresh Digimon have no PD value.
  • In-Training Digimon are worth 1~3 PD
  • Rookies average at 10 PD
  • Champion average at 20 PD
  • Ultimate average at 40 PD

The PD for each Spirit form will be assigned by the staff, so after you have a general idea of what the Spirit Evolution will do, and preferably a design idea, please come to the staff so that we can review it and assign you PD.

This Digivolution type is favored by Digi-Elves due to its ability to not bring permanent change to their bodies after use, as some Digi-Elves, after gaining power over time, unlock digivolutions that become permanent. It is also favored by human tamers who do not carry animosity towards becoming a digimon (however temporary) and who favors being a part of combat themselves.

Spirit Digivolution comes with a lot of nuances that had to be limited, changed, and re-balanced for the purpose of LinK. Let’s start with the type of Spirits:

  • H-Spirit: Human-Spirit; brings a rookie-powered DLF or a human tamer to a champion power level. Always takes on a humanoid appearance and favors more refined attack styles meant for a humanoid body.
  • B-Spirit: Beast-Spirit; brings a rookie-powered DLF or a human tamer to an ultimate power level. Often takes on a more primal appearance, although sometimes partially humanoid, and favors a more wild attack style to show the raw power of the beast.
  • IH-Spirit: Inverse-Human-Spirit; brings a rookie-powered DLF or a human tamer to an ultimate power level. Still takes on a humanoid appearance.
  • IB-Spirit: Inverse-Beast-Spirit; brings a rookie-powered DLF or a human tamer to a champion power level. Follows the same aesthetics of a normal Beast-Spirit but with less raw power.

It should be noted that the ability to take two matching Spirits (e.g. H-Spirit of Flame and B-Spirit of Flame) to create a Fusion (Mega-Level) is not available in LinK. Unified. (usage of 5 H-Spirits and 5 Beast Spirits) to make one “super-strong being” will also be unavailable and never mentioned due to the fact that it is a “protagonist end-game form” and there is no main character in LinK.

Obtaining a Spirit
In LinK, we have many Spirits that are named after many aspects, but not all of them come with a story of what being they came from, or if there is a story behind them, and so-forth. There are many ways to obtain a Spirit in the RP:

  • Purchase from shop;
  • Quest Reward;
  • Obtained through permanent death of a Digital Life Form when a DigiCore is split/damaged-beyond-repair;
  • Forge custom Spirits through the use of Blank-Spirits and materials.

Purchasing from a shop or obtaining one from a Quest Reward are the simplest ways. You can re-forge it into Inverse Spirits or make certain changes to canon spirits with the right materials and enough bits. With Blank-Spirits, you can forge whatever Spirit you want except for canon spirits or special spirits listed by the administration, and you will have to have appropriate materials and bits to do so. See “Spirit Designs” for more details.

Obtaining Spirits through the death of a Digimon or Digi-Elf is something that will require administration approval, and is not something that we mean to allow for anything below Ultimate level. Most of the time, this may only happen for plot-related characters, or as a very special reward...if obtaining a Spirit through the death of something could be called a reward. The chances of a Spirit-Pair being dropped is zero if the DLF’s data is absorbed by something else.

If you want to have a specific Spirit with a story behind it, such as a Spirit with a special meaning to your character’s backstory and/or development, you will need to contact the staff and let us know exactly what your plans and your story will be, and see if we will approve it. Non-artificial Spirits, after all, are meant to come from beings of legendary status or of significant power.

Spirit Designs
In LinK, there are three kinds of Spirit Digivolution Results: Legendary, Legacy, and Inherit; The differences are as follows:

Legendary Spirits - The original copy of the spirit that resulted from the passing of a strong and usually legendary being. These Spirits cannot be re-forged, will always result in the same digimon, and are VERY important because these are THE Spirits, and it is not uncommon that the spirit and personality of the original being can communicate with or affect the user during use, or even when not in use. Depending on the Spirit Type and Origin, non-canon Legendary Spirits may come with odd lore and the ability to evolve, adapt to, or even fuse with a new user, claiming that user as their "rightful heir." These Spirits are hard to come by and may not easily be handed out (or allowed to be created) by the administration.

Legacy Spirits - Spirits that, when used, will result in a default form no matter the user. e.g. Legacy H-Spirit of Flame will always turn the user into an Agunimon. These Spirits can be re-forged in order to change certain appearance aspects, such as color and weapon-of-choice, but when handed to someone else, the resulting digimon will not change. These Spirits are typically considered "copies closely related" to the original Legendary Spirit.

Inherit Spirits - Spirits that, when used, can result in different forms depending on the user. This means one character could use the Spirit and become one digimon, and another could use the Spirit and become another digimon, OR, the same digimon but with differences due to the person/digimon using it. For the most part, these Spirits are artificially forged or do not have a legacy attached to them. We would prefer, however, if people obtain Spirits of the same aspect, to try and keep their design aspects similar enough to easily be recognized with that aspect. These Spirits are typically considered "artificial" or "not-strongly related to their original Legendary roots" (IF said spirit had a Legendary Ancestor.)

If you have received a Legendary or Legacy Spirit, it will be called as such and we will tell you. Otherwise, for example, any normal "H-Spirit of Flame" will be Inherit and you can become something other than an Agunimon.

List of Legendary and Legacy Spirits so far:

  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Flame
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Light
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Ice
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Wind
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Thunder
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Earth
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Wood
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Water
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Steel
  • Legendary and Legacy H and B Spirits of Darkness (Loweemon and JagerLoweemon in LinK; We will not be referring to them as L and K Spirits here;)
  • Legendary H-Spirit of Magic (In possession of Esyra after passing of its original "heir.")

The designs of the actual Spirit “totems” themselves are slightly first-come-first serve, although there are times where designs can be refined upon and we may like a new design better than the previous one.
