A powerful group of dark Digimon have begun harvesting data in the Digital World, not only putting the Digital monsters that live there at risk but all tamers who enter. Already several tamers and their partnered Digimon have lost their lives and the group of high-powered Tamers sent to deal with the issue have disappeared without a trace.
The official warning from the DDT is that no tamers under B-rank are allowed to enter but meanwhile, the inhabitants of the Digital World are living in terror of being mass-downloaded. Even more concerning, there have been rumors of Dark Digimon amassing deep in the Digital World. Though the DDT oversees about a thousand tamers from around the world, there haven't been any true Digi-Destins for over twenty-five years. Another rumor though, says that is about to change.
