"Please, entertain me until the very end!!!"

Name: Yugure
Age: 16 | March 30, 2001
Gender: Male

Posted Image

Personality: Yugure can be deemed as psychopathic by nature, showcasing a handful of various personality traits all being taken to their extremes on the morality scale. On the surface he comes across as polite and as he likes to call himself, a gentlemen. And yet follow-up responses eventually betray him into showing a more haughty and duplicitous nature, sarcastically quipping and bringing down others in an effort to stir intense emotional responses out of them. All the while keeping an eerily calm demeanor while making these sharp comments. However despite the red flags that alert people to his true nature, Yugure maintains a surprising level of charisma and an almost alluring nature, keeping people on his side while getting to be who he is and boggling the more logical minds.

The boy has an aptitude for bitter flavors, especially the consumption of bitter dark chocolate which goes hand-in-hand with a notable sweet tooth. Yugure is greedy and tends not to share, but if one was to surprise him with such delicacies, astonishment hits him and he shows a crack in his armor. Bashful, still rather crude, yet otherwise silently appreciative. Yugure is full of these inconsistent quirks and internal traits which causes confusion as to who he really is.

Yugure can also be incredibly hammy, exaggerating his facial expressions and tone during times that may or may not be the most appropriate to do so. He can be dubbed as somewhat of a blood knight, not so much caring about the outcome of a fight as long as he experiences immense satisfaction from it and actively seeks out opportunities to do so. This goes in line with not really having something to fight for beyond his own selfish desires, and he could care less when people point this out. For as far as he was concerned, his own pleasure and needs are the highest of priorities. Similarly Yugure finds satisfaction in emotional self-fulfillment as well which leads him to make debaucherous remarks and actions which, combined with his charisma, can make for obnoxiously persuasive flirting and thensome.

Ultimately the thing that Yugure enjoys the most is being in the midst of total chaos or causing it. The breakdown of order and expectation is what he considers the pinnacle of joy. If an outcome that would result in this breakdown is averted, that too can cause cracks in the wound up armor he wears that finds it difficult to comprehend living in a world that is, from his perspective, dull and lacking spontaneity.

The irony is that Yugure is nowhere near close to being a 'prime time villain'. He is a lover of chaos and certainly acts the part, but while his desires tend to fall in line with somebody who despises peace, he is smart enough to know that he can't really cause a major shift alone. Attempting to do so with limited power would be the end to his fun and that's an outcome he would rather avoid. So whether it's biding his time for something to actually happen, creating splashes here and there with his capacity for causing trouble, or simply accepting things as they are and being the biggest troll towards people, Yugure finds a way to content himself to the present flow of the world. All the while doing his damnedest not to let others influence HIM.

History: Most of Yugure's past history is obscure even to him, though you'd be hard-pressed to get an admission that it bothers him. The reality to the boy is that the past is the past, so while he's curious about various aspects that might have gotten him to this point in life, for the most part he throws caution to the wind and doesn't care all that much. At least from initial impressions. The only thing Yugure is sure of is that he was likely abandoned at an early point if his memory's so fuzzy that he can't recall any sort of family. To that he said, 'Their loss'.

His earliest memories consist merely of dreary, minor events that brought him to Graphite Valley. To his knowledge he lived and wandered in the Digital World for a brief time before coming there and finding a place of residence all to himself, making use of it despite his age. It is during this time that Yugure discovers just how... uninteresting the world feels. Without surprises, without big explosions or loud noise, everything just seemed so bleak from his perspective. Despondency began to cling to him like a wet rag and his eyes lost a lot of their color, despite how well he faked it among the gaze of others. Escalating drastic thoughts began to run rampant in his mind, threatening to drive him nuts as he went through every single day doing the same routine again and again. It didn't help that due to his age, opportunity and independence were shaky topics at best. He managed, but at a cost of further burying himself in monotony and emotional frustration.

It was likely at this point that his curiosity began to build about his backstory. How much easier would living be if he had a family to return to? Would they be accepting, or toss him aside? He was certain that it'd be the latter, most likely, the mere prospect of it having made him dig his nails deep into the palm of his hand and drawing specks of blood. These drips of red, metallic-scented fluid... Yugure found himself staring longer than he felt he should as they slid down the palm of his hand and to the wooden desk he had been hunched over so tightly.

Again and again, he would draw blood from the same spot. More and more he would watch the red strings drool down his hand, to his wrist, and gazing upon the self-inflicted injury with morbid fascination. The aching sting of causing it repeatably, the pain that coursed through his body, his features would crack into unstable territory as for some deranged reason, he liked it.

One night before retiring to bed he would hear the sound of a shrill cry from the window of his apartment. Confused, he went to directly investigate without any concern for his well-being. His inquisitiveness showed no bounds at this point and his search would lead him to see a family scrambling away from the sight of a strange creature. A digimon, Yugure thought, his life having truly began in the Digital World as far as his fractured mind was concerned thus knowing what it was. Despite it being suicidal, not knowing if it were a friend or foe, Yugure approached and caught its attention. The digimon had jutting claws that looked like they could cut him into ribbons, and a gleaming stare that would shake most but not one as unattached as Yugure.

The digimon would pin Yugure down and threaten him with his claws, questioning why he approached, and the boy simply laughed. He admitted that the 'mon was quite beautiful much to the wolf's bewilderment and shock. Further questioning would lead Yugure to admit his overwhelming boredom and the thrill he felt hearing the chaos from inside his room. Although not specifying whether he enjoyed other people's terror, it became clear that he at least savored the atmosphere that came about such startling and frightful actions. This... would catch the digimon's interest, and ultimately release Yugure from his grasp. Offering his name as Umbra, he admitted his own feelings of restlessness with how the world was and how fake humans and digimon alike were. The way they strolled on through life, pretending everything was sunshine and rainbows while others like themselves were outcasts with no real hope. So he would approach everything with a heavy hand and glistening claws, determined to smash the preconception of their so called pleasant worlds and show just how dangerous things can be.

Yugure became fascinated with the concept of creating chaos. He would eagerly suggest they cooperate. While Umbra seemed to be more prone to aggressive tendencies, Yugure had the social skill and ingenuinity to guarantee the two of them can make their marks on the world. Although skeptical, Umbra saw the excitement in Yugure's eyes at the prospect of his own ideals and ultimately agreed, shaking hand to bloody hand as they exchanged venomous grins. And so a malevolent partnership was born. It would be a while before both of them realized that the bigger picture of their aspirations would be a long venture to gain, and combined with their little quirks and unexpected limitations, things might not be as simple as they seem. But they were ready to do something. It would only be a matter of time until the world granted them an opening...

"This is your punishment, you pathetic bastard."

Nickname: Umbra
Gender: Male
Digivolution Track: Offmon -> Logamon -> Shutmon -> Rebootmon(?)
Defining Marks: Umbra holds a mark beneath his left eye that, while transparent at first, is revealed within darkness to be a mark almost similar to a tattoo. This signifies to the public that he was born with the grim touch of darkness.
Main Form: Offmon (Rookie)

Personality: Umbra is an aggressive sort that thinks violence and intimidation are the defining factors of asserting control over people. Many of his actions reflect the type that feed off of attention and even his chaos-tilted demeanor seems to go hand-in-hand with his tamer Yugure's preferences. It's hard to determine whether or not there's more to it or if Umbra's reasons for dipping into such choices are entirely one-dimensional, but they're definitely not good ice breakers with others. That much is certain, as solitude tends to follow swiftly for him after throwing things into disarray.

Umbra is generally cold and hard to approach if he doesn't have an agenda, opting to keep his plans to himself and very rarely showing a friendly hand to those who approach him unless Yugure prods him to. Similar to his tamer he has a tendency to be sarcastic, snark at people, and otherwise dismiss their self-righteous claims if they feel so obliged to share. But the key difference is that while Yugure has further developed social skills to mask his inclinations, Umbra lacks tact and comes across more rude upfront.

There are nuggets of a salvagable personality behind the bravado though. Almost like looking into a mirror as Yugure claims himself to be something of a handsome gentlemen, Umbra similarly proclaims things about his own 'hotness' in an egocentric way. Actually, while an unknown, it's possible that Yugure himself has influenced his digimon into making such bold remarks about things that he probably never cared about much before. Or he did and he concealed it better then. Umbra is also taken aback easily by the opposition acting out of character, suggesting or saying things that don't fall in line with the situation, and he can showcase a surprising shyness when dealing with youth. They are the lucky ones that for the most part avoid his wrath and unruly acts.

Umbra is learning to play off of situations that require social delicacy and thought per Yugure's insistence. Although it doesn't come natural to him, trying to make up for his own weaknesses by learning from his tamer would be a smart move to eventually shift the world by storm. He wanted to be covered in all aspects, even if that meant talking in manners that were foreign to his character.

Deep down the Offmon suffers from heavy despondency due to overall neglect he experienced in his life. To say he's bitter would be an understatement and that one sentence alone could explain in volumes why Umbra's the way that he is. He regrets nothing however, choosing to act out in an almost rebellious manner to shake the hearts of the 'better off' people in the world. Yugure's methods are satisfying on that end as well, perhaps not as violent in hindsight but trolling and being facetious are both quite enjoyable alternatives to the chaos causing digimon.

History: Darkness. That was all the strange digimon known as Umbra knew being born into the world. His egg stolen, sheltered within a world of darkness, it only became natural that his heart and code became plagued with the same malicious energy that filled his birthplace. And yet even then some humanity remained in the Offmon's soul, his spirit, something that refused to bend even as the world around him demanded it. That's right, he had been a different mon entirely at the height of his origin. Something had changed him directly down the line, poisoning his ideals and beliefs.

Other digimon risked being the things that did so. Umbra wasn't necessary sure how to fight the words of others, all he knew being born into the world was how to fight with his hands and legs. That much he had to do on a daily basis which taxed his mental state. And yet he did what he had to do, combating the words of other with hope that he'll overcome the obstacles that is their stone cold gazes, and ultimately battling when pushed into a corner and being disallowed to do otherwise.

It wasn't this however that caused the biggest shift in his demeanor. What changed Umbra had not been people directly, but what they chose to do that distanced themselves away from him. That's right, he had been branded pretty much as a pariah. Because of his birthplace, the mark on his face, the ambiguity of his origins, nobody wanted to risk the dangers of fraternizing with somebody that they didn't understand. That for all they knew was bamboozling them all and concealed a malevolent persona deep down. What they did isolated Umbra and in actuality nurtured the feelings within that led him down a path of despair and agony. The things they were afraid resonated in his heart only budded and developed because of their very choices on how to treat him.

And to his ire, Umbra found that he wasn't the only one who faced such prejudice. Other outcasts, other mon that were not given a chance he'd encounter in the places that he traveled to. They were all of different ages, different species, and yet they all shared the same horrific truth that led them all to the circumstances they lived in. Nobody was willing to accept or save them from the dark, so they instead were forced to wander back into hell with no other place to go. This would be the biggest shift in his personality. He used to be hopeful, repelled evil and darkness in an effort to connect with others that he felt would help them. Giving them his trust, a piece of himself, all of that was over as far as the Offmon was concerned. And it was through this emotional shift that he would inevitably digivolve to the next level, a far more dangerous and somewhat manical Logamon.

What followed was a series of events that would only damage his reputation but do its job in becoming the salvation of others. Through acts of chaos, calcuated yet brutal violence, he would rebel and throw himself viciously against the pre-established walls that other digimon have have formed between themselves and the outcasts and would shatter those metaphorical barriers. He would force others to be accepted while blackening his own reputation. His noteriety in the Digital World became highly infamous at least in a sub-section of the land, being dubbed a devil by the masses and a hero to the minority that lived without hope. Titles didn't matter to Umbra as long as he got his point across. Of course he knew that there were still other places, many more that had the same level of cruelty. Which is why he would eventually move on once satisfied, determined to counter that meaningless corruption with a focused, willful corruption of his own. He didn't consider himself a hero. What he did helped others that were the same as him, but much of the true benefit came to his soul in his bitter actions against society.

Eventually he would stumble into the Real World via a well hidden portal en route to his next location. Smart enough to stay hidden and curious enough to remain, Umbra wandered day and night to feed his boyish curiosity and would eventually stumble upon the outskirts of what seemed to be a residentual area. And it would be at this point that his presence was spotted, forcing Umbra to present his claws and fangs and frightening the likes of the strangers whom never saw a digimon until that point in time. He made a real impression on them as they screamed and scrambled away, and a cruel smirk took to his features as he fed off of the panic of others. While he wasn't sure about the circumstances of humanity, he believed that they too were liable to unjust acts and discrimination. As far as he was concerned, people were the same no matter their species and he just had to search and find them.

What he found instead was a boy with brimming curiosity, with a strange combination of pink and purple strands with an expression that betrayed him into seeming far more innocent than what was actually truth.

Umbra pinned the boy down and threatened him only to receive boisterous laughter and an unusual compliment which stunned him. Introducing himself as Yugure he would elaborate on his discontent with the world and how boring it was, how he felt he was the only soul living in this world that actually understood the truth that it was a place that fed the darkness in people's hearts. This proclamation shook Umbra to the core and he would ultimately release Yugure once realizing that they were more similar than he was with any other digimon back in his own world. Like staring into a mirror, into the eyes of a human version of himself. Reality sunk in that Yugure could be his catalyst to act against humanity, not to mention a reliable partner in creating chaos and striking fear in the people that have outcasted them. And if they were to sate Yugure's desire for 'fun' if you will by cultivating the flames that they fanned throughout the world, then it was all the more beneficial to his own desires.

The two shook hands with grins plastered on their faces. Yugure's desires were built on self-fulfillment. Umbra's desires were built on resentment. Ego was prominent in both of them, and ultimately whether through thrifty or violent means they would both do what they wish to satisfy their corrupted hearts. It didn't matter if deep down they knew they were on a downward spiral. As long as satisfaction came and they accomplished what they needed to in order to feel alive, that is what they would do. That is how they would live.
