"Regardless of how I feel, this is how the world is and what needs to change."

Name: Dameon Crawford
Age: 21 | July 04, 1995
Gender: Male

Posted Image

Personality: If one word could describe Dameon's personality in a nutshell, it's him being aloof. Having gone through many journeys over the years with ups and downs, it can put its toll on a person. Even somebody with as strong a will as him. At his core, Dameon used to be fueled by both enthusiasm and adrenaline for adventure. It's as if a switch went off in his head after one fateful afternoon and that completely warped his beliefs on what it means to be a tamer, both in the expectations others have of him as well as the expectations he holds for himself. His mind is a rabid, complicated mess as he delicately puts it, and yet isn't in a particular rush to try and patch the holes.

One could say he's accepted what he has allowed his life to turn into: constantly fighting for what he perceives is right. While his intentions are good and his skills remain sharp, much of the joy over being a tamer has faded. This isn't to say he's become inhospitable but he's certainly lost the 'cute charm' that his family and friends have known him for and is more of a 'cool thinker' which many would say don't fit his archetype and appearance at all. But he plays the role well regardless in his own right.

While the Dameon outside of combat is far more mellow and thoughtful, these things still carry into his behavior when fighting and are amplified by like a dozen. He can be deadly and to some extent tries to rush the outcome with his strength, further highlighting the disconnect between a person who felt a fire fighting others and someone who holds only a mild flame to such endeavors. Dameon can become frightening if his bonds are threatened, and he'll rarely if ever crack a smile when in the moment. Of course there's always an exception...

When truly pushed. If nudged past a certain point and he feels the pressure of the situation in an unexplainable way, that is when the heart starts pumping and his excitement builds. The truth is that Dameon still has every bit of what made him, 'him' a few years back but has sealed it away in favor of the serious side that he displays now. Deep down that challenger spirit yearns for surprises and being pushed, and people that are capable of doing just that are the people that can break past that mold and unlock aspects of that kinder and more joyous demeanor. It wouldn't be some 180 transformation but it'd be pretty damn close.

Dameon's a generally serious character that lets pockets of his true self peek through but only to the people he's closest to, and has shifted from being more of a slacker youth to being one of the hardest workers. Although this hasn't changed the fact he's more of a street-smarts sort of guy as opposed to being book-smart, that much hasn't changed. He can be awkward but curious in romantic situations, quiet in crowds, and to some extent it's like dealing with two different people in and out of combat excluding his base traits. -

History: Most of the time you don't choose being a tamer. Sometimes, the role of a tamer chooses you. And Dameon Crawford walked straight into that world head first. When you come from an erratic family where the only person you can truly confide in is your sister, life can be rather harrowing so he took the call optimistically and pulled his sis along for the ride. Eager to do something, to jump long into the world of Digital Monsters and have magnificent adventures that get the blood pumping. That's what he wanted and he got it in spades.

Dameon grew exponentially from Point A to B. First he got Vee, an optimistic and happy-go-lucky Veemon with an aptitude for gluttony and bad decisions, and then shortly after obtained a cute Wanyamon partner who he'd later nickname Akio. Life seemed good after making the executive decision to move away from his parents 'to focus on his studies' and allowing Kurai to come with him. The disguised reasoning fooled his parents and they were able to spend a significant amount of time together in which she too would eventually come across her own partner. At one point Dameon would run into other tamers, other people just like him vulnerable to the call of adventure and eventually hooking up with them. Things seemed great as they would commit to quest after quest in an effort to feed their own desires of curiosity as well as help people that were in need of it.

But then things would take a sharp left turn. An event that would rattle and shake them to the core, Dameon especially, and shift everyone's perspectives to a more somber mindset that was near impossible for them to escape. Dameon fell into that spiral and changed as a man from that point onward, and those changes would first be presented to his sister Kurai as he became more strict with where she could go with him. He would leave her out of missions half the time or at least the ones he felt were too dangerous, and insist on them training and keying in on techniques that would help them keep alive in a world that was far less glamorous than he thought it was coming into it.

It would be an unfortunate string of events that eventually led Dameon and Kurai to Graphite Valley. A new start, a new calling, it would be here that the eldest Crawford would look to see immediately what he could do for the people's sake. All the while steeling the facade he put up in front of others further and further until he would hardly recognize himself. This would be a new frontier for them both, to change them. Whether for the better or for the worse would be anyone's guess...

"Everything's fine. I mean it is... for now anyways."

Nickname: Vee
Gender: Male
Digivolution Track: Veemon
Defining Marks: There is extensive scarring along the right side of Vee's face that reaches from near the top of his scalp to just below his eye. It hasn't made the eye unusable but its potency has sharply decreased.
Main Form: Veemon (Rookie)

Personality: Vee's personality formerly was seen as big and eager. He loved adventure, battle, social interactions, and bragged about much of it in an effort to come across as more cool than he probably was. The good thing about it was that all the stories were true as to his core he wasn't really a liar. On the downside, bragging's bragging and not of good taste. But the V-Mon's mind was far more naive back in the day with the thought process of everything coming up millhouse. He had a reason to brag and feel overly pleased about his own life. He had notoriety, certainly a lot of interest in him both in the ways of fans as well as admirers. It only takes one shift in the game though to change the flow of everything, and that's done an enormity in smothering many of those nagging personality traits to the backseat where they likely belonged.

It's these present days that Vee has become a bit of a stepford smiler. Putting on a chip facade in an attempt to mask his inner feelings but tearing at the seams. It's not that he isn't happy at all anymore, but people who know him realize that he's definitely more of a shadow of his former self. Par for the course when it came to Dameon Crawford and his partners. He has to stretch in order to even reach eighty percent of his previous persona and even then, he's mulled quite a bit over how he used to be and the frustrating parts about it, even if others didn't necessarily agree with the self-assessment. He had been cocky, boisterous, always eager no matter what the occasion. Many found it endearing, but the present Vee found it agitating. Maybe if he focused more when it mattered, bad things wouldn't have happened. The 'What Ifs' are a place Vee delves in often.

Vee's personality still stands out among his peers regardless if he stretches it or not. He's maintained a good deal of his playfulness and even at a fraction of his prior demeanor, he found new ways to project in order to feel more enthusiastic and good about life. He likes to assist in charitable events in the Digital World, oversees things at Origin Village even with his guardian role crossed out, and continues to involve himself in party like atmospheres to drown in music and lights.

A stand-out quality of Vee's is his tendency to socialize and flirt constantly. While shifted from self-centered dialect, he throws himself in social situations with the intention of keeping himself locked in it as interactions of any nature alleviated much of his aching on the inside. He suffers from severe autophobia and needs to have those interactions. Having had numerous people who cared about him, having dedicated most of his time to a job that had him caring for Digimon by the dozens if not more. All of that piling atop of his shoulders and the subsequent loss of most of it is what did the most damage to his psyche. Without the stimulation of having a caring voice, a helping hand, or anything of that nature, it's easy to see much of that already fractured shell, break.

Beyond the obvious flaws that Vee carries with himself, at least one more thing exists that he carries which can be considered both a weakness and a strength, and that's his stubbornness. A lot of this is seen in combat where even as his body is damaged and destroyed, he'll continue to fight until his existence as a whole is erased. Being stubborn and determined like that are things that you'd see in a heroic type unwilling to give up, and it's probably his strongest attribute even to this day whether it gets him into trouble or not. Despite the increased seriousness, or the struggle with isolation, when it comes down to it Vee will do whatever it takes to fight and win for the sake of protecting others. Similar to his tamer, and that's where their thoughts are one.

History: Vee wanted to be a hero. That had been such a driving force in his own, self-created narrative that he felt enormously confident he could achieve. He was loud, proud, and perhaps bubbling at the seams with egotism. A lot of it could stem from the fact he had been a former guardian of what is now Origin Village. When you're successful like that, you almost feel like the world is your oyster for you to dine on and savor each and every day, with the belief that nothing could derail such a lovely train ride through the years.

That belief would come crashing down hard after a fateful journey he, his tamer Dameon, and fellow digimon went on that culminated in half of them seemingly getting deleted, him and Akio reverting back to eggs, and everyone as a whole earning some permanent mental scarring.

Vee wasn't new to loss in his life as he grew up in one of the many digital forests without a family and being propelled into a constant fight for survival. A lot of it conveniently glossed over, sure, but his more aware state of mind these days has acknowledged the way things were before. And with all the time he's spent thinking back on his past few runs before being brought down to digi-egg status, it's no wonder that Vee developed a sour taste in his mouth. He took a lot of it for granted and pretended that for the most part, everything was fine. That was his character, stubborn and in suspended belief thinking things were sunshine and rainbows. Not anymore these days.

These days he does his best to approach life similar to Dameon. That includes dipping into familiar territory and combating it for the sake of perceived justice. Unlike his tamer however, Vee's unwilling to lose himself entirely and does his damn best to maintain something of his original persona but in a more humbled manner. Less egotistical and more built on genuine enthusiasm for living. Vee wants to take the time to enjoy himself more. But it's difficult when bouts of PTSD rack your brain, the nightmares plaguing the former guardian's mind and making him wish...

... Making him wish that those deletions he suffered had done more than leave permanent scarring. He would wish that they had actually destroyed his memories in the process so that while he tries to smile, he isn't quietly suffering.

"If we give in to our anger, that's just going to leave us with more suffering."

Nickname: Akio
Gender: Male
Digivolution Track: Dodomon -> Wanyamon -> Gaomon -> BlackGaogamon -> MachGaogamon -> ZeedGarurumon
Defining Marks: There is a crescent notch in Akio's right ear from being struck with an energy attack that dissipated it. He also tends to go without his bandana, preferring to go around with it.
Main Form: Gaomon (Rookie)

Personality: Akio is seen as the 'ray of light' in Dameon's band of digimon, even before losing half his team. Goody-goody is probably the best way to describe him, and he is completely okay with it. In many ways he takes being called a goody-goody like it's a badge of honor. After-all if you're seen as such, surely that implies leaving a positive impression on people. And even with those that see it as a negative quality, he has the capability of shrugging it off... most of the time.

It's not to say that Akio doesn't have any bark or bite to him, he's just as capable a fighter as Vee and can be just as daunting an opponent. In fact when pushed or harassed to enough of a degree he has shown to be plenty snippy, even raring to growl and bare his teeth. However he does lack that killer instinct otherwise, which can be a problem with most opponents unless they've shown themselves to be pure evil. Or if they've hurt Akio's family. That's a trigger that certainly brings out the most frightening aspects of his personality, but it's rare regardless.

Akio tends to be very much a sweetheart and is opposed to the mentality that fighting is the way to solve all their problems. While yes, most encounters they have with enemies result in conflict and there's really no getting around it most of the time. But if there's ever a way out, a solution if you will that won't sacrifice the welfare and happiness of others, you can bet that Akio would prefer that over anything ending in the deletion of more digimon. The death, the chaos that evolves from it, much of it is a traumatizing set of circumstances for the canine which is why he feels so strongly about this mindset.

Delving into combat, Akio fights as hard as Vee but relies more on defense and stalling tactics, usually to compliment Vee's leniency towards a more aggressive approach. In that sense, while ideals differ, they work remarkably well together like a well-oiled machine and show why their team as a whole continues to have the potential to reach the pinnacle.

History: Akio's backstory doesn't so much read like the telephone book, quite the opposite in fact. His growth and life in his own words have been blissfully simple and he wouldn't change it for a thing. Even when young and living among his own breatheren, there'd never been much drama especially involving himself, and his digi family appreciated him a great deal. So it's not a story of wanting to get away or finding a more comfortable life with Dameon Crawford compared to them. He joined the boy on his journeys because of that beautiful, adventurous spirit of his. Something that Akio came to share and nurture himself the more they had their adventures, how consistently they found themselves in these crazy situations which they always had the mental and physical capacity to overcome.

The adventures were always fun to him, and he made many memories with Dameon and his various other partners who became close like a second family. Obnoxious, their own little personality quirks prevailing, but family none-the-less. He would even come to find blissful love in the heart and hold of another as their group expanded. Things just seemed to be going right for the canine.

And then the destruction of most of his family came, and it served to shatter his heart in two.

Several of Akio's friends and Dameon's partners were seemingly obliterated, his lover put into a near-death state and her partner stunted, Vee going through several phases of being deleted and coming back with further physical scars, while Dameon ultimately became a much more hollow shell of his former self. Their family had been crippled, and things would never be the same.

While eventually Akio and co would make a comeback from the atrocities they've suffered, the emotional damage had already been done. Even after coming to Graphite Valley there was the sense of things never quite being the same again. But the Gaomon was determined to be something of a light in the middle of all that unwavering darkness in their hearts. Somebody had to maintain a level of optimism or even hope in the group, in hopes that one day the rest would find that spark. At the very least with his lover still at his side, there's a chance to maintain his sanity and pure spirit.

Profile denied! You've already made this character before, under the name of Lobo, since Lobo and Akio are totally the same Digimon. They even have similar sounding names! There's no reason to make a character twice!
