Basics:
Name: Setsuna “” Tasumaki Age: 19 Gender: Male
Who You Are:

APPEARANCE
Setsuna is practically defined by his unnaturally messy chocolate brown hair. It sticks up in every direction and refuses to cooperate with brushes or gels, essentially giving him perpetual bedhead. Though his boyish face, small nose, and lips are always set firm and unmoving, are often seen as defining and unique characteristics, it's Setsuna's eyes that truly make him stand out, for Setsuna's eyes are blue.
Not a dark grey masquerading as blue, nor a watery, sky-blue, but a true, dark cerulean that can only be seen by staring into the shallow part of an ocean on a perfectly clear day. They blaze brightly, full of the life he lives to the fullest, reflecting his unshakable confidence and unstoppable force of will. And when angered, when forced to take up arms and unleash his latent powers, these crystalline blue eyes flood with magic and burn a brilliant shade of crimson.
His honey-brown skin speaks of long days spent basking beneath the scorching rays of the sun. Setsuna stands slightly above the average height for his gender and is only a few hairs short of 6’ without his shoes on (something that infuriates him to no end, rest assured). His intensive workouts tend to keep him from gaining weight, while at the same time maintaining around the same amount of muscle. The other fact contributing to this lack of growth is his metabolism – it’s obscenely fast, to the point where it's almost a struggle for him to eat enough to keep from losing weight.
His taste in clothes reflects his lax nature. He prefers comfort over anything else, although he takes practicality into account as well (can't outrun rampaging dinosaurs with pants around his ankles, now can you?). A pair of dark blue jeans usually sit atop his hips, held in blade by a heavy black belt. Upon his feet he sports black converses, assuming he decides to wear shoes at all. Setsuna despises having his feet confined; there's nothing comfortable about having then sit into some sort of prison all day, all the while building up sweat and a funk he wouldn't wish on his worst enemies. He adorns his upper body with tee shirts of varying shades of color. However, he does tend to have a preference for yellow or white shirts, usually sporting black crew necks and matching sleeves. |
PERSONALITY
In his heart, Setsuna will always be a person who'd rather be on his back in the green or in a tree, watching the clouds. When not confronted with the few things that trigger his temper, such as ignorance and overconfidence, Setsuna is just your average relaxed guy. He loves to joke around, to run about in the wild whilst adrenaline pounds through his veins. Nothing makes this man happier than the opportunity to escape from the drama and political strife and to simply, as he so eloquently puts it, "chill out." One might assume that this lackadaisical and carefree nature would make Setsuna a peaceful individual, the kind of man whose charisma could win over even the most stoic and ill-tempered. Said individuals, however, would be shocked at what they find when looking beyond his outwardly lighthearted attitude and peering into the mechanics of his mind and soul.
Setsuna is, first and foremost, a selfish individual. That isn’t to say he goes out of his way to capitalize on the misfortunes of others, or lacks the capability to empathize with the plights and struggles of those burdened with some of life’s many hardships. Neither does this mean that he is an inherently dark-hearted individual willing to use any method, no matter how twisted or brutal, to accomplish his goals. He simply looks out for number one – that being himself, of course. He is far from ruthless or unfeeling for the plights of others, but in the end he recognizes that his only responsibility is to his own happiness and wellbeing. When Setsuna reaches out to lend a helping hand, is isn’t out a desire to make the world a better place, nor an intent to spread his good fortune unto others. He does so on a whim, oftentimes acting out of boredom and an underlying hope that his good deeds might reap some sort of reward, be it monetary or a chorus heartfelt thanks.
Yet at the same time he can usually turn a blind eye when the situation seems far more troublesome than his time is worth. Setsuna is set in the belief mankind will never look at situations rationally and will, and always will, resort to deception and thuggery to resolve conflicts. This bleak outlook greatly shapes his interactions with others, a belief that allows him to turn his back on disasters and injustices without invoking overwhelming feelings of guilt and shame. Hopes and dreams crumble to dust all the time, as he very much knows from experience, and no amount of charitable efforts and happy thoughts will change mankind’s long-lived habit of disadvantaging others in order to further the individual’s wealth and power. Why should he slave away for the sake of others and forsake his own personal well-being?
That isn’t to say he is capable of completely shutting out the guilt of ignoring others’ misfortunes; while he is self-centered, Setsuna is by no means a bad person. In fact it can actually prove quite taxing, forcing him to choose between his vested self-interest and the overwhelming urge to put himself in a disadvantageous position for the sake of another. He can ignore poverty and just punishments with little effort – it becomes far more difficult for him to remain uninvolved when innocents find themselves at the mercy of the corrupt and powerful, or to remain aloof when he witnesses blind prejudice born from baseless claims and stereotypes.
The paradoxical nature of Setsuna’s persona – a man who strives to act in his best interest, but who is inevitably swayed by the pull of his moral compass – ensures that he never remains at peace for long. In light of this Setsuna usually acts with a single goal in mind – to milk as much entertainment as humanly possible from each and every moment of his mortal life. He strives to hoard memories of happiness and wonder, filling his past with uncontrollable laughter juxtaposed with the ever-soothing resonance of nature’s silent heartbeat. He loves to laugh and make other laugh alongside him, to poke fun at both friends and strangers alike. If he finds a situation amusing he might take his antics so far that other parties involved might actually question his sanity. Setsuna will ignore all manner of social tact should he find it appropriate for the situation, making the most bizarre inquiries and contextually-inappropriate jokes for the sake of his own amusement.
Above all else Setsuna values his honor, as old-fashioned as the idea might. However, unlike so many other who claim to live by some chivalrous codehe rises not to slander and sleights against his person. Setsuna’s honor is based in his actions; repaying kindnesses and debts and treating others with the same respect they show him. It is from this Setusna’s sense of duty and purpose is born - not from furthering his personal gains in life, but by some overarching respect for the notions of equality amongst all.
One might struggle to consider Setsuna one of the “good guys” given his indifference, a view that is undeniably grounded in a measure of truth. Yet he is not so cruel-hearted that he can leave others to their fates when confronted with adversities beyond their earthly means of control. While far from noble and giving Setsuna is, if nothing else, a purposeful young man who lives by a code of his own making – an individual whose mere presence makes life itself all the more unpredictable, and whose slightest whim can bring salvation just as easily as it can summon disaster. He unapologetically lives life how he sees fit, consequences be damned, and refuses to bend to the will of those who would claim to be above him in the scale of all things. |
HISTORY
A great man once said heroes are not born, they are made. The universe itself presents its denizens with a block of untarnished marble and hands them the hammer and chisel needed to free its champion from confinement. All one requires to realize this vision is a heart untarnished by selfishness, and the drive to push oneself beyond their mortal, earthly limits. Only seldom do the people recognize the opportunity laid before them, and even rarer are the occasions where those tools aren't turned from instruments of creation into bearers of strife and suffering. So the marble sits ever still, braving the elements and slowly wearing away into a brittle, mocking imitation of its long-lost glory and purpose. It precariously balances atop an ever-widening crevasse, awaiting the day a mortal's whims tips it over the edge and plunges it into eternal darkness.
Heroes are not born, nor are they made from the goodwill and light of the universe. They drag themselves away from the edge of the abyss and steel the fractured remnants of their hearts in the face of unending adversity. It is not by choice they suffer their burdens, but through a sense of duty so deeply ingrained into their souls that it forces them to push beyond their frail mortal limits for the sake of another. And if they cannot conquer their inner demons and prevail against those who would see their struggles amount to naught but failure, they sink from the light of day and into the obscurity and despair cast by fate's long shadow.
Setsuna Tasumaki is the third option - a boy destined for a perfectly average life, but burdened with another's glorious purpose.
In all honesty, Setsuna started off as an almost average run-of-the-mill teenager, with just a touch more sarcasm than what one might consider “healthy” at his age. He was liked well enough by his peers, and even though he ran his mouth off a tad too often for an adult’s liking, he never said anything so explicitly terrible that it invoked the wrath of his parents or school faculty. He flitted between a few sports in his youth before deciding to focus on basketball, displaying a degree of athleticism far beyond that of his peers – one that was unfortunately counteracted by the young man’s general apathy and disinterest in pushing himself beyond an above-average level of performance.
Funnily enough, Setsuna’s entire persona was counterintuitive when considering his upbringing and innate abilities. His entire family was driven and focused, constantly pushing themselves to achieve new goals without stopping for so much as a breather. Setsuna, on the other hand, was more than content to cruise by on luck and natural talent, rarely considering applying himself to secure a brighter future.
Friends and family might have called him lazy. Setsuna preferred to think of it as “apathy born through a lack of necessity.”
Or perhaps it was apathy born through necessity. In a world filled with people that once drove him crazy due to their ignorance and short-sightedness, simply not caring let the young man focus on the things that made him feel alive – mainly food. Food and martial arts; after all, there were few times Setsuna could claim to have felt as invigorated as when going up against his peer in sparring matches, or when utilizing his skills out in the streets when faced with no other option.
Even now, less than a year away from graduation, Setsuna has no particular drive to "win at life," as many of his friends would call it. He has no real career plan and sent out his college applications based solely on the quality of their dining halls, as opposed to academic criteria. He is entirely rooted in the present time, rarely thinking ahead unless it's in reference to planning out a trip with friends or contemplating what meal he should put together for dinner.
Of course, this lack of drive to "win" was soon met with a near-palpable amount of irony.
- Gets thrown into Digital world somehow (figure this out) - Fucks around for a while - Finds spirit, gets shit kicked out of him - Transforms into a boss, kicks their shit in - Is now a knockoff power ranger |
SPIRIT EVOLUTION LINE

| Victory is no so easily defined as one does fire and ice. At its core it means to emerge from conflict having bested all other participants; the exact means by which one accomplishes this feat can vary drastically. Some might rally comrades and inspire greatness, pushing their abilities to their absolute limit and beyond. Others might trample over such sentimental feelings and resort to brute force, annihilating any who dare stand in the way of their goals. The Spirits of Victory are neither inherently good nor are they evil; while their methods can differ drastically, their purpose is as one - to trample all over whatever fate had laid before them, and use whatever tools they have at their disposal to ensure their side is the one standing on top when all is said and done. |

This looks really solid, good job. Although there are a couple things I should point out.
First, and the only issue I see with your profile- you are planning to have Setsuna as a spirit user, yes? I imagine he will use one of the spirit lines you have been working on. Your profile however is lacking a spirit line, so you will need to add one, so we know which spirits he will be using. Keep in mind, that if you are planning to have Setsuna use more than one spirit line, he will get one free and he will have to purchase the second one with Bytes.
Second, we give users a choice as to what level they start at here. They can start anywhere up to rookie, and sometimes champion. In your case, you may start at either rookie spirit, without a spirit or with human spirit. In that case you'll start out with either 5000 Bytes, 10000 Bytes or 0 Bytes. Champion comes at a cost however- since it's a fair bit more expensive than the others, I will be taking the beginner Bytes you would receive for balancing purposes.
Which brings me to my next point- we now give out a beginner's package to people's first account upon the completion of their first profile. This newbie packages grants you (one time and one time only), an extra 5000 Bytes and a free home DigiFarm (The home DigiFarm you have to go to Dave's DigiFarm's shop in the shops section and say you claimed it to claim.) So given that, in this case, you can start with 10000 Bytes if you start at Rookie spirit, 15,000 Bytes if you choose not to start with a spirit at all, or 0 Bytes if you desire starting with the human spirit immediately.
