A Wanderer Passing Through Town

Jonathan Paine had the cloak of his hood pulled low over his face, hiding his identifying features behind a mask of darkness and leather cloth. It was a warm day, approximately 75 degree's Fahrenheit, but the cool breeze rolling of the water kept him cool as he walked along the path toward the port town. The wind bringing with it the faint sounds and strong smells of the city on the water's edge, perking his interest as his leather cloak billowed around his body. Being an Anima, he had particularly strong senses, and since his lineage was that of wolven (mostly) descent, his sense of smell and hearing were particularly acute. The large pack on his back did well to hide the monochrome colored wings that grew from his back, though it looked more like he had nothing more than blankets within the pack than camping supplies.

Jake trotted along happily in his wake, unlike Jonathan, he had no need to hide his wings. Although Mountain Wolves were rare, they were not unheard of in these lands. Although Jake was a large breed of Mountain Wolf, standing roughly three and a half to four feet tall at the shoulder, he was rescued as a pup by Jonathan when his wing broke during a particularly bad winter storm. Jonathan had found him, and tended to his injury through that harsh unforgiving winter, and when Jake was well enough to go out on his own, he chose to remain with Jonathan instead. From that day they had become nigh on inseparable, best of friends that could be.

They followed a particularly popular trade route to the port city of Zareth, pausing just at the outskirts of the city to rest on a particularly grassy knoll that overlooked the lake. Part of his traveling pack lay at his side as he leaned back and basked in the afternoon sun, his wide brimmed hat pulled down over his face to shade his eyes and allow him to rest for a spell, Jake lay sprawled out in a most flamboyant way as he too took a siesta. The breeze blowing in a soothing way now, causing the grass to billow with the waves of the wind, keeping the two of them quite cool, and with the way the knoll was formed, it caused a strange buffer on the wind so that scent and sound from their position flowed back to the gates of the town.

His scent, that of an Anima and an Omega of a wolf pack, yet carried the tinge of a most powerful Alpha, faint but slightly detectable. He would smell of a mountain spring and lush forest, bringing to mind soothing thoughts and mystery. Even though he hates having his bushy flowing tail while in human form, he can't help the fact he forgets about it sometimes, being such a natural part of him in his beastial form. As of now his tail, which is longer and fluffier than normal, unfurled out to his side, bearing a color of white with black tiger stripes down it. He shifted a bit to get comfy laying on his back, which wasn't easy when you had wings growing from your back, even though his were downy soft, it was a right pain on his wing joints if he didn't lay just right or have something soft to lay on.

He began to hum softly of an old tune common to the wolf packs of the Anima race, low but catchy as it flowed from him in a rumbling growl. Soon the sound turned to words, well words in the particular tongue of the Anima wolf packs, before flowing into the common tongue, although sounding different, it was still just as melodic, reminding those who know the tune and words of a past time, a simpler time. One of family and close ties where life was easy and flowing without responsibilities.

A mysterious woman with long blue hair was walking through as well, mainly passing through as she continued traveling and learning more truths and hidden mysteries of the world that she was left alone in. Zareth was one of the main safe places for Anima.. or so she heard. The climate was almost unbearably hot, causing the mysterious woman to actually break a sweat. She wore a long black dress that swept past her ankles. She had a gold waistband on with a red cloth tied around it to keep it close fit to her body. From the cloth hung a katana on her left hip. Her hair was out and a little messy as it reached down the entire length of her back.

Her companion walked beside her. A black Hippogriff who stood right at her shoulder height. Raven named her Onyx.. Her only companion who travels with her and watches her back. Raven never goes anywhere without Onyx near by.. Even though they met on rather rough terms, Raven and Onyx have been partners for years.
For those who would get a closer look at Raven would notice that her dress was pretty dirty, her hair was rather messy and she looked exhausted, noticed by the bags under her eyes. Raven glanced around, looking for an alley or any little spot where she and Onyx could rest for the night. She didn't have a home so she had to make due with her surroundings. It was a sad fate but one she has grown to accept it.

She had never been to Zareth but heard that it was the safe haven for Anima. Being almost identical to her mother, there was sure to be some talk about her being there. Just as she thought it, something hard and sharp hit the back of her head, knocking her off balance. She stumbled forward but was caught by Onyx who prevented her fall. When she turned, she saw a man and two women standing there glaring at her. When she looked down she noticed a wine bottle broken on the ground. Placing a hand on the back of her head, she felt the blood oozing out of an open wound, the blood staining her blue hair.

"Ow..."

The trio looked angrily at her before shouting, "Get out of here Naomi!! You're no longer welcome here after you abandoned us!! Get the hell out!" the man yelled. The females just agreed. Raven recognized the name Naomi as that of her own mothers... but how did they know her and why did they think she was her..? Did Raven resemble her mother.. because she doesn't remember what Naomi even looks like..

When the male took a bottle from one of the females, Raven snarled and turned around to flee. She wasn't about to stay and fight just to disrupt any peace in the area.. Raven was rather fast and made it to the other side of the port with Onyx in record time.. she had a splitting headache and blood dripping down her neck. She finally collapsed nearby right by the water, nearly falling in. Onyx lay beside her in a protective position while the trio from before made their way out of the area.
There were boats everywhere yet not many people around, which seemed pretty strange... The water was so clear, so clean and just looking at it seemed to relax her.

Ears twitching lightly, Raven caught the sound of a familiar tune. It came from the male that she noticed earlier.. Her enhanced hearing could pick up the sound of his voice.. Chuckling lightly, she closed her eyes and began singing lightly along with him, not knowing if he could hear her or not.. still, the tune was one she remembered all too well.. Just hearing it soothed her a bit, making her forget about the pain if only for a moment.

Jonathan continued to lay there, singing softly as he laid there until he caught a myriad of scents and sounds that aroused his attention. His first thoughts were one of curiosity... Who was it, what were they, why did they smell so good yet tinged with the smell of blood? He heard her breathing heavy as if from great sudden strain and exhaustion. He lifts his black wide brimmed hat from his face, peering down from his siesta on knoll. His eye's widen as he realizes what he saw and registered what he smelled and heard. He could smell the familiarity of another anime, one akin to his own species, and thanks to the wind buffer her could hear and smell clearly from his higher vantage point along with a crystal view.

He saw a simply sublime creature, an anime he was sure, who's blue hair shimmered like the crystal clear water's behind her. He was curious as to why she ran so from the town reputedly the most safe haven area for their kind outside of wolflake..... He cast a glance aside, viewing her pet hippogryff, a rare creature in deed for these parts, perhaps rarer than his Jake? Although it didn't matter, he could smell with the breeze that she was indeed wounded, the red splotch upon her shirt and hair evident enough to his keen senses.

With unusual grace even for an anime, almost elf life as his muscles played in perfect synchronization, his body at perfect harmony from years of training as an Omega wolf, tempered by his mental training and meditations. He was a blend of fighter and philosopher, a master monk for so early an age. He grabbed his actual traveling pack from the ground and hefted it on his shoulders, taking light easy steps down the knoll, approaching slowly so as not to alarm the the woman's pet.

Jake arouse with his master shaking his fur out vigorously until it poofed, sensing all just as well, albeit better than Jonathan could given he wasn't in his feral form. His head cocked to the side as he regarded the blue haired woman's pet at first before viewing the anima woman. He could tell she was... different from other anima's... Her scent was off somehow, almost like she slept a night in a crypt which was unusual in itself considering that Anima's didn't bury their dead like that. He trotted easily at his master's side, cautious but curious at the same time with an innocent look to his eyes.

Jonathan grew worried as he got closer to the woman, the smell of blood growing stronger. His voice lightly husky yet soft as he began to speak, the wind dieing down now, allowing his scent to sift out and envelop her. one of an Omega wolf, of mountain springs and lush forests, yet underlying with the scent of a powerful Alpha Wolf, unawakened of yet. " Are you alright? You seem to be bleeding, if you'd like I can treat your wounds...... My name is Jonathan by the way, and this is Jake.." He pauses for a moment to assess her condition, she seemed to be still bleeding somewhat, maybe even have a concussion." We mean you no harm, I just want to take a look at that wound and wrap it up..."

His hands were outstretched as he slowed up and spoke to her, showing he meant no harm and no threatening motions. His voice evident with his sincerity, his fluffy tail hanging limply from his lower back. His face showing clear concern for the remarkable woman, and as he came closer, he began to identify what she smelled like directly, cascading his thoughts down numerous pleasurable avenues before he came back to himself. His eyes glazing for a moment before he regained control of himself. His boots coming to a stop a few feet from her now and awaits her permission to come any closer, lest her pet get angsty...

At the moment, Raven's senses were failing her and she was unable to tell who or even what the male was.. Most likely an Anima from him even being there in the first place.. If that was the case, she knew it wouldn't be long before he got a good whiff of her blood and approached. The last thing she wanted however was someone hovering over her full of worry, especially a perfect stranger. She wasn't even hurt that badly to begin with..

As soon as the male began to approach, Onyx was alarmed and turned her head to glance at him, watching him closely but would not react without Raven's permission or if the male posed any sort of thread. A loyal and trusted companion indeed. But by the way he approached slowly, Onyx wasn't assuming that he was hostile in any way. She even noted the mountain wolf by his side, keeping a close eye on the both of them. Onyx was Raven's only friend and protector for many years, always looking out for her when no one else would, being by her side when everyone else abandoned her.

Finally, the wind died down and Raven caught his scent, he was an Anima indeed but with another scent as well.. She just couldn't figure out what, especially as her eyes began to close, she couldn't even look at him. Once she heard him close enough to speak to her, her eyes opened again and she sat up quickly, startling Onyx who jumped up but still remained close. As she sat up, Raven placed both hands on the back of her head and winced.

"Ow ow owww…." Raven complained as she looked up, crossing her legs and nodded slowly. Her voice was soft and smooth, graceful and at the same time stingingly cold. "Raven.. and this here is Onyx. I'm alright, Jonathan.. I just bumped my head is all. Nothing to be alarmed about." The male looked young too, around her age perhaps.. Raven glanced at his out stretched hand then looked to Onyx who didn't seem ready to trust them yet.. taking a chance, Raven nodded and put an arm up around Onyx's neck, using her support to stand to her feet.

The pain felt like one of the worst migraines that could ever have been recorded in history. It felt as though her head might explode or something. It made her feel a bit dizzy, but she wasn't about to show it and make herself look weak. She noticed his tail and chuckled softly.. perhaps it always was revealed? Or maybe he didn't know how to hide it like most Anima. Either way, it was adorable.

Now Raven's mind began to wander to why the hell she was assaulted in the first place. Did her moth- Naomi do something wrong? Raven hasn't seen Naomi since she was just a few months old so it was hard to remember anything about the woman.. she didn't even know who her father was. Sighing, Raven closed her eyes and leans her forehead against Onyx's own, nuzzling her companion's feathers lightly, the softness against her skin comforting to her as it's been for years.

"Well we should probably get going, I don't want the entire population here coming just at the scent of my blood, that would be quite bothersome.. Thank you for your concern." Raven nodded slowly again before turning and looking out at the water. Now that her back was to him, he would be able to see the amount of blood she lost from her head since it coated the back of her dress completely, all the way down to her waist band, staining that as well.

Raven was trained as a warrior and she wasn't about to let herself be weakened by a glass bottle. She had much more endurance than that. Eventually the blood would stop and she would be perfectly fine.. She would end up sleeping it off like it was nothing.

Jonathan could tell the woman was in a lot of pain from the shakeyness of her voice to her body posture and body language. Despite her apparent attitude to blow it off he was truly concerned for her. He had no idea why, he just felt... compelled to help her, captivated by her. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was that had drawn him in so readily. Even though he was a truly kind soul, he didn't readily help others unless he had the full grasp of the situation. Often times thieves would pose as wounded travelers, or sometimes the wounded were cutthroats who struck out as soon as they began to feel better, but still.... He knew she was different, a uniqueness like his own. He sensed a kindred way with her, from her visage to her smell.

He watched her carefully, smirking as she glanced at his tail and giggled, he knew she was trying to play strong at this point, relying on her pet hippogryff for more support than she intended to let on. " aah yes... my tail... a bad habit, I tend to forget sometimes, it feels so natural to me...". As she turned to nuzzle Onyx, he could see clearly how bad her wound really was. He was deeply surprised she hadn't succumbed to a concussion yet, she was a very strong woman indeed, she would raise many strong pups....

.....Why did he think that? What was going on? Why was it that as time went on he felt a peculiar sensation cloud his mind and make his body feel giddy and fuzzy? He shook his head and persisted still, determined to help her wither she liked it or not. " you've lost a lot of blood.... if you don't let me treat that wound, you could possibly die from shock and blood loss" He cast a pleading glance to her pet to allow him closer to help her if she still declined, his eyes seeming to reach out to the hippogryff as his own companion, Jake, whimpered lightly in accord, trying to communicate more effectively considering their somewhat similar lineage and kindred skyward spirits.

" The scent of blood wasn't what really drew me, I was up there, relaxing on the hill overlooking the lake when I caught you intriguing scent.... I was singing softly an old traditional song from my pack when you began to pick it up as well... It was not until i saw your wound that I truly felt worried, there's something about you Ms. Raven, something intriguing and i can't place my finger on what... If you would just let me tend to your wound, you wouldn't have a problem of people bothering you..."

At this point he drops the large bag he held in his hand to the ground slowly, so as not to seem hostile, following up by removing his leather trenchcoat and wide brimmed hat. Showing he held nothing concealed along with his lean fit form. He had the build of a seasoned warrior, an expert hunter, but his kindness and concern would give the feeling of a gentle being who could explode in a flurry of action in a moment's notice. He hadn't noticed it, but he had grown beyond the norms of an Omega, delving into the power of the Ancient Alpha lineage that ran undiluted in his blood.

His mind began to wonder as her alluring scent continued to pervade him, fogging his thoughts for a few moments before he was able to shake it. He felt a pull from the pit of his stomach toward the woman, something he felt from the moment he laid eyes on her. Now as her scent... no was it musk? invaded his senses, it began to make him think odder pleasurable thoughts. Did I fall in love with her when i first saw her? It can't be such a thing as an imprinting.... that only happened in the old legends.... He thought then of his wings and began to wonder at that before shrugging his shoulders lightly and undoing the straps that help the covering for his illustrious wings. It was a fine day after all, and he had no reason to hide from her at all, for some reason, he felt compelled to do alot of things.

The bag slid down his back, his monochrome colored wings spread outward, stretching slowly as he pulled from one of the pockets on the bag a potion and bandage wraps. As the bag landed atop his true traveling pack, his wings would have fully outstretched and slid back to a more comfortable level. The unfurling of his wings would cause his scent to pervade the area around them stronger, the smell of his alpha blood becoming stronger now for some odd reason. His gesture one of openness and trust.

Raven's gaze met the males and she nods at the explanation of why his tail was visible. "Oh, no worries.. It's not uncommon, trust me. I tend to forget at times as well. It was obvious since he was so close.. she could pick up his scent even clearer. He's an Anima like her… It was hard to determine over the strong smell of her own blood filling her nose. She was determined now more than ever to keep conscious in front of the male.. The last thing she wanted was to look weak.

Smiling, Raven sighed and shrugged lightly "Alright… if you insist, I wouldn't mind being treated by you." At that, Onyx lowered her head and then looked to the side to allow the male to advance, but would still keep an eye on him. Raven slowly stood up straight so she wouldn't have to lean on Onyx anymore. Onyx didn't move however, just in case Raven needed to lean on her again. "Something about me, huh? That's strange.. I barely know who I even am.. But of course I won't bore you with the boring details of my life seeing as how we are still perfect strangers." Raven sighed and lightly rubbed the back of her head, blood dripping through her fingers and a pained expression on her face. Of course it hurt, but still she was trying her hardest not to show that she was in pain.

Getting another look at him, Raven noticed his features as he removed his trench coat. He was rather fit and had an excellent build, quite attractive as well… Raven bit her lip lightly as she felt a rush of heat sweep over her. Shivering lightly, she shook herself as well as the feeling as best as she could. There was no way she could be mated to anyone, it wasn't like her at all and she never really had any friends that stuck by her for long besides Onyx..

Raven and Onyx now watched him closely as his wings opened. Raven arched a brow, confused as to why an Anima would have wings in the first place.. unless he was a mixed breed. A stronger scent met her nose.. it was still his but much stronger now.. More inviting.. She looked at him closely and noticed the bandage wraps that he pulled out. She let her hand fall back to her side, blood dripping from her finger tips. She lowered her head slowly.. seeing as how he was taller than her, he would be able to see the top of her head much easier. Raven stared at the ground, her heart pounding in her chest as the male got closer to her..

Jonathan Paine Slowly stepped forward as she lowered her head to allow him to tend to her wound. A strong smile alighted upon his lips as he began to clean her injury carefully, washing the blood away with cool, clean water he had in a canteen upon his hip. He knew she was near her limit now, but soon he'd have her patched up and healthy again. His strong dexterous hands tending her gently, tenderly. She would feel no pain besides the dull throb of the wound itself. As he stepped closer her scent would envelop him completely, fogging his mind further, causing him to delve into a more primal side of him, her scent so oddly familiar, almost akin to the alpha females of his former pack, but all the more fragrant and pleasing. His Alpha heritage beginning to bloom in her presence as his aura changed, and his pheromones would kick in, mixing with her musk to indicate he was a healthy Alpha on the prowl, as hers would indicate she was a receptive female ready for breeding. " I would actually love to get to know you... It is quite a lonely thing traveling the roads and wandering paths of the world, and frankly, Jake here is quite a bore sometimes haha... Not very good in the conversation department at times.

Jake slowly pawed forward toward Onyx, his ears lowered as he sniffed lightly. Looking toward Onyx and investigating this peculiar animal intently, his tail wagging to and fro. He knew the female was in good hands while he master tended him. His kind heart was something he knew first hand given his past. He had broken a wing as a pup, Jonathan took him in, took care of him for no other reason than doing it. From that day on, Jake stuck by his side, forming a strong bond of friendship and trust, relying on each other in the direst of times. He came slowly forward, trying to comfort Onyx with some light play, brushing along Onyx's side to indicate companionship.

As soon as her wound was cleaned thoroughly, he dabbed the cloth into the potion bottle to give it healing properties and medicinal effects. Then he pressed it against her head, and a warm sensation would flow from the contact against the wound, flowing down her body as her heat pervaded her, giving her a fuzzy giddy feeling as the potion did it's work to heal her. As he held the compress to her head, he held the potion to her lips with a soft smile and twinkle to his eye."Now drink this and you'll be right as rain in a few moments, its not easy to come by, but it's highly effective in small doses so please drink it.... He looked into her eyes then as she would look up to him, mesmerized by their splendor and depth, losing himself in her eyes for a few moments as he felt a powerful pull in his guy and loins.

He fought to master himself, he would not lose himself to his instincts, sure they were fine to have and rely on every once in a while, but to lose yourself to them would make you no better than an animal.... but then again.... losing yourself once in awhile couldn't be that bad... Especially when there was such an attractive female as Raven involved; he could tell there was more to her than meets the eye, and he would indeed love to get to know her, or even make love to her.

Why did I think that! That's not right! We've only just met.... and yet I can't help feeling this strange pull to her... could she be in heat, or it could also be fate? He answered her curious stare jovially, a bit of mirth to his lips. I come from a very old pack lineage... a direct line to the first Alpha of my pack in fact.... and his mate was a Skywing. I'm the only one in my pack, let alone family to have wings this large let alone wings at all. I was forced from my pack because of them actually... I held the strongest claim to the title of Alpha, but because I was not born to the Alpha current.... well that wasn't very good..." His heart pounded in his chest as he told her about him, feeling completely open with her. As her wound would heal completely within a few seconds, he casually tossed the bandage out to the side. His hand that held against her head would slowly come around and brush her cheek tenderly and absentmindedly.

The myriad mix of their scents and musk would cascade his thoughts to pleasurable things, he wondered if he could convince her to travel with him, and if not he would ask to join her own travels. He had no purpose anyways beyond exploring the world and seeing what he could, broaden his horizons and discover why it felt off, as if something were pervading it. His mind wandered further as he lost himself in her eyes..." You truly are a remarkable woman Raven, normal people would have passed out or died from such a wound, yet here you stand next to me... You are so... intriguing... beautiful... I just can't help but want to get to know you. Perhaps you could travel with me? Explore the world and see sights most would never get to see even in a long fruitful life.... or perhaps I could aide you in your purpose? I have a camp set up not far from here for now, a perfect view of the lake until I restock supplies and move on....but I would be honored if you allowed me to travel at your side.....

He thought of many things with the flow of words; his mind focusing on the softness of her skin against his, her beautiful eyes gazing back into his, her lustrous hair and how it fell about her shoulders, her perfect figure. His mind began to think strange thoughts now as her pheromones altered his way of thinking, at least until he became used to it. His thoughts becoming lustful, needing even, as a large bulge began to form in the crotch area of his pants. He thought of how he would please her and make her his if she chose to go with him. He couldn't out right prove it, but he felt that if she should choose to allow him to stay by her side, he knew she would eventually allow him to mate with her. Wither it be a one night stand or a life long bond, who's to say, but if he had his way, he'd readily choose the life long bond. He felt drawn to her in a deeper way than just body, he felt as if his soul was truly being tugged on, and not his gut. As if his soul was meant to be paired with hers.
