I'm upgraded to 70meg!

I got a modem upgrade, finally got it sorted out after much hassle waiting for the courier (Yodel, - I look up their reviews
and most gave one star plus a comment about terrible service, they have a useless order tracking system)
and I have gone from 20meg to 70meg.

Not that it will make any difference to me as it was more than fast enough already so I won't notice any change really.

However it was free so I thought I might as well have it even if I didn't use it, plus they said my old modem/router
would stop working eventually or something like that.

Mind you it is a bit odd, I though I was going up to 50meg but I seem to have 75meg and they don't seem to have a 75meg speed.
Maybe I will get a bigger surprise in my next bill!

Mine went up to 70 meg too..(Virgin) had an email this morning telling me my bills are going up next month!!

Yea I just realised he said it was about £3 more but then my bill is going up £3 anyway so it is the same.

I would be quite happy with a fraction of the speed really, and a lower bill to go with it of course.

The new modem is massive too!! :bog:

On the subject of Yodel I can't say I have ever had a problem with them they always deliver when they say they will, now Hermes on the other hand they are completely crap.

Well when I went to their tracking site it could not find it, I eventually called them
or rather virgin media did and they said the found it, she I tried again I did find it.

It did not arrive until late afternoon when I had just about given up on it

But they did deliver as they said so can't rally fault them.


I am not sure what happened with their tracking site, maybe I found an old yodel site.

Took a while to get it set up, at first it was very very slow, then it worked but only gave me
20meg, I had to call again before I got 75 meg.

But I can't notice any difference as they could already deliver content faster than I could consume it so to speak.

Oh I have just noticed that my modem/router has sockets for a phone on it.

So I am wondering if I can have phone from VM as well, it is unclear if there no extra cost or if I have to
pay an extra £19.99 line rental.

My existing phone is from BT.

So I will have to look into that, it seems all I would have to do is plug my existing phone into the socket on the modem, I don't even need a socket for upstairs as I use wireless handsets.

But as I say it is confusing, if I go by what the VM site says it seems it would cost a lot more, but maybe they don't want me to know I could have a phone too for effectively no extra cost.
