Last night my PC notified me that an update was scheduled and gave me the option of doing it straight away or or in about 15 mins. No option to reschedule it!! (which I think is unacceptable!!) Really annoyed me and I was looking for a way to prevent it but when it got to the schedule time it just rebooted my PC!! Anyhow when it eventually finished updating I found all my desktop items had GONE!!! I did eventually find them though, I think the problem was I have so much stuff on my desktop it take forever to copy, I don't organise my stuff as windows want you to do, ie I have a tonne of pictures in folders on my desktop. Anyhow the one good thing about it is that it seemed to boot up a lot quicker, about a min or just less. Might be because I had no desktop items though (but doubt it). But will see how it goes, it does not seem to fixed the problem importing files from my camera automatically. However I think I may have found what the issue is there, Windows 10 wants to take over that function but I already have software that came with my camera to do it (which no longers work properly since I went to Win 10 )

Update, I have just found the windows 10 programs imports them OK,(well better). I think the issue is the two companies battling for my custom, you seem to get that lot, everyone wants to give/sell you cloud storage etc.. Every picture/video player wants to be the default program. So a vicious turf war. |

Actually the other photos app may not a be a win 10 thing, not sure what I think it came with a USB drive software perhaps.. Anyhow boot up is a lot faster 45 secs to login, was over double that before, so some progress there. |

It is what it is an operating system, I know there are people out there that for some reason or other are just anti anything Microsoft some to an extreme level of paranoia about it, to the extent it's hilarious. |

Well I think both the windows photos app and the camera one as fighting it out for supremacy, the both have loaded the photos up to my PC but put the in different place, no wonder I am confused. So I have two sets now, it is rather confusing. Also my PC seems to be back to a slow start up. Plus it too forever to shut it down, ie like 20 minutes, it said do not switch off you PC but I though it had kind of died as nothing seemed to be happening, so I was going to switch if off anyway, however I then heard some activity from the disks so I let it run and it shut down eventually. Anyhow I am gonna reboot now, to see if the fast star tup works or not. Hope it does not start doing updates again!! |
