So the D U P aren't going to be bullied (their word) into relaxing Northern Ireland's abortion laws..

Actually when it comes to women being forced to carry a baby to term even when that baby has abnormalities it makes you wonder who's doing the bullying..

They have some really nonsensical abortion laws there, worse than in the Irish Republic AIUI

Still, as long as Mrs May relies on them to prop up her minority government I can't see her wanting to rock the boat..

It's depressing really. Ireland finally makes it's way into modern times yet NI women are still stuck in the dark ages.

Tories fuck up as usual. Choosing the worst of the worst to prop them up.

Would have been better if she'd have just ruled with a minority government, rather than jump into bed with that lot.

The abortion laws haven't got much to do with catholicism either, because other countries which are predominantly catholic, like Poland and Spain, don't have such draconian laws AFAIK.

I guess it depends how much say the public have in the political systems. I'm surprised that the public were even allowed to vote on such an issue in Ireland.

Well bullying ranges from name calling to taking someone life.

you are condemning bullying whilst condoning murder?

What kind of logic is that?

They should lower the voting age to conception.

Few would vote for death.

That reminds me of something an American once said: "note that everybody who is FOR abortion has already been born"

Well, true I suppose..

But then if they hadn't been born, there's be no 'them' to object to not having been born, n'est-ce-pas?
