Many suggestions have been thrown around for space combat. Should we ditch it entirely and just make spaceships good for travel. Should we try to completely revamp it? Leave it the same? Let me know! I am partial to ditching it and further developing the non combat aspects of the ships. |

So far no one has stated that they want Space Combat to stay so I will be scrapping it. If anyone who joins later opposes this idea, we can discuss adding it back in at a later date (with revisions of course). |

If we re ditching it we'll need to revise the Tech page and also ship costs. The main focus on them now should be travel time vs cost, plus with healing or gravity chamber options. |

Strand is hands down the only person in the history of site ownership to run space battles frequent enough to even have the mechanics be tested. In my honest to goodness opinion, flavor up the system in Revival, don't invest too much time into it in comparison to what you will inevitably have to do with the combat system. Do not make a whole separate table top thing, trust me on this, its too much time and effort for little pay out. I wouldn't take it out of the game either. Aiden didn't like space but you know what? Lot of people got hyped on the space train in Revival, myself and Dario included. Not everyone else came here to be lone wolf punch and sword man. Lot of people took appreciation in roleplaying putting their ship together and doing there thing with it. Keep it around for flavor and expand upon it a bit. If your incredibly lucky, you can get what I deem the best space expert we have, get a hold of Sykes and work with him. He had a lot of ingenious ideas to expand on it. If you work with him a bit you can find some middle ground.

I've been trying to work with Sykes since Day 1 and haven't gotten anywhere on it, to be honest. I think Space should stay in but Space battles are just a headache. |

jf it's just combat itself, you can make due. There's going to be a lot of talk about how to play the terrestrial combat system. You can introduce the combat system at a later time after it gets ironed out and expanded upon. I'm entirely in love with what Sykes and I came up with but it was too much to throw on top of a tweaked system. In hindsight, too complicated for what people want out of the game as well. I think we can come up with some happy medium later if you want to revisit the idea on a later date. I think so long as there's something for players to fix up and make there own for now, that should be enough till its time to introduce it, maybe when there's more worlds and room to stretch out. Let's scrap it for season 1, have regular space ships with different specialties models (speed [pods] vs training room [capsule corp] vs carrier space [namekian/frieza]), and in season 2 we can look at adding different model-specific weapons to each of the three. |
