It's been days since i've heard from Julian, the voice on his cell phone says that he is no longer accepting calls, though Namek may be out of his service range. S.P.O.O.P. wasn't much help either, though they did give me some busy work while they said they'd look into it. It is reassuring that they have people on the ground now, apparently they just sent a contingent of operatives to Namek this week. The bad news is that they felt the need to reinforce the war effort and the red ribbon army may very well be the reason for that. Abandoned complexes and rumors litter the countryside and today I had been tasked with scouting one such location out. Not being a member i'm unsure as to why they didn't already have someone on this, but they could have also just been trying to get my out of their office while they sorted through things. The place seemed simply enough, an old industrial factory that had been shut down. Exactly the kind of place you'd think nefarious people would meet up in, but there was more then meets the eye here. I walked through the building, seeing the abandoned machinery made me wonder what this place used to be, back when it for something respectable anyway. If not for an annoying humming sound i couldn't shake i might not have found the real base, but eventually a junction box gave it away. There shouldn't be any power flowing through here and yet there was. Not enough for a whole building but it was worth investigating. Fiddling with... i mean expertly deciphering the fuses I discovered the lights in one of the room was connected to the box. It appeared to be a maintenance room of sorts, supplies, tools, that sort of thing. In a room this dirty it's not hard to tell when somebody moves something and the shelves with scrape marks in front of them were a dead giveaway. Moving them aside there was false wall that lead down into an elevator shaft. No cab, but when you can fly it's not a deal breaker so down i went. The lower i got the more it seemed i was on the right track. The shaft must have been hundreds of meters deep and near the bottom it became increasingly well kept. Lighting, heat and even a pleasant aroma greeted me once i got to the bottom. Doors big enough for a truck blocked the path and were surprisingly difficult to move, likely reinforced but why? I was a bit shocked when i got them open as what i saw was not a factory or makeshift base but a neighborhood. As in several rows of homes and streets built into a massive cavern. It was almost like a television set but on a much larger scale. Perhaps it was my shock that made me less wary because by the time i heard the echo of the shot i was already bleeding. Covering the hole in my gut i stumbled my way into a house and nearly passed out. The shot was crippling but not fatal, but i needed time for my aura to heal me and i have no idea who even shot me. It wasn't an energy beam, someone hit me with an actual bullet and that made it worse. Being scorched by energy is one thing, but having to staunch the flow of blood was making me lightheaded. Before blacking out i decided to move to a different house, transmitting had the benefit of being quiet and fast, at least i hoped so. First a gunshot, then an explosion, today was rough. The house i had originally ran into had blown up and coincidence didn't seem likely. Fortunately at least a few moments had passed as i was able to move without leaking blood onto the floor and as i looked out from the window i saw... it? Some kind of creation, larger than a man but features obscured by its armor and wearing a large red cloak with a hood. It was holding a sizable rifle and loading it with a shell the size of a thermos. I had to take the chance, so i fired at it... a hit! Wait no? The beam connected but almost looked like it slid off it's shoulder. Dropping the rifle it stared at me and it's eyes began to glow a sinister red color, a machine if i had to guess. A gunshot, an explosion and self destruct sequence walk into a Shin-jin. This isn't a joke, it's the beginning to my report sadly. When the beam slid off the thing it must have struck something important or set off some kind of detection system based on Ki because the entire base went haywire. Sirens, announcements in different languages, flashing lights, it was basically the worst disco of all time and the thing ran for Kami knows where as soon as it started. I ran out and grabbed the rifle off the ground, perhaps Julian could make some good come from this, but sadly that's all i could get before being forced to leave. Security doors and shutters meant i'd have to transmit out and wounded as i was it took longer than i'd have liked. Instant transmission is a bit funny, when you're in a pinch it tends to be easier to go somewhere you're familiar with, like how drunks find their way home. When i opened my eyes i was staring at a white tiled ceiling, the are was fresh and it felt peaceful, for a moment i thought i had gone to the checkpoint but the desk in here was far too small for Yema. When a small cat came walking in with and cane I sussed it out, I had returned to where i first landed on earth, Kami's lookout. Rifle nearby and a relieved look on the cat's face told me it wasn't a fairy tale, though if i got out so did that thing... Edited by Emperor Enoch, Jan 22 2017, 10:37 PM.
